Atsushi saw Akutagawa's past. He learned about Akutagawa's trauma. He knows how Akutagawa was treated, how he was taught, what he was put through.
He understands Akutagawa now
He fully sees Akutagawa for his humanity now
Atsushi has seen Akutagawa's darkest, most vulnerable side now
And that's just so...
I can't even put it into words oh my God, their relationship is so complex and heartfelt I'm screaming
I have a feeling that Akutagawa doesn't mind Atsushi seeing his past, seeing him at weakest, lowest point
I think their trust runs deeper than that
Also Akutagawa isn't alone anymore. Nor is Atsushi, because they have each other. Akutagawa has someone who knows and tells him he isn't weak, Atsushi has someone who can be by his side and save him. I feel like without each other they aren't complete

Something I find really beautiful about this chapter is Atsushi subconsciously finding his tendency to rely on his emotions as a strength — he had no logical conclusion as to why the ADA members were alive, but instinctively, in his heart, he knew.
The same for Akutagawa — he knew that Akutagawa would remember, in his heart, with the doubt of his mind. I believe it was a quote Atsushi had said earlier, but I believe it's the core of his character — "The head may err, but never the blood".
The heart is a mysterious thing, because it makes sense without any logical basis. The heart is a trust, a senseless trust with a sense of clarity. Dazai in Atsushi's subconscious saying, "Feel strongly. That's what you do when you want to experience the past", brings me to believe that Atsushi has become better at living. Atsushi, by only living in the present, has become the only person fit to defy the space, because the present in the agreement of the past and future.
In other words, I believe Atsushi is the heart.
i cant let them go yet apparently
good and cool and normal thoughts in my brain about sskk. as always
imagining them post-canon is always a time but right now I'm specifically thinking of ways they would show trust to each other. because they would absolutely, absolutely trust each other more than anything.
i have a few interesting thoughts on how they would show trust.
one is clothes as trust-- akutagawa's form of vulnerability. not wearing his coat around atsushi, or letting atsushi borrow it. not feeling the need to wear long sleeves or layers. being around atsushi means he doesn't need to be on guard, ready to tear somebody apart with rashomon in an instant. it doesn't feel like he's exposing himself to be killed if he wears lighter clothes, less clothes, no clothes at all. because being around atsushi is inherently safe to him.
one is food as trust-- atsushi's form of vulnerability. food was something he was rarely given as a child, and it's something that he wouldn't share. it's too precious. but he would get food for akutagawa, share food with him, save some of his own food for akutagawa to eat. and akutagawa would do the same. akutagawa isn't going to let him starve. he'll eat his part of a shared meal and let atsushi have his. if atsushi gives akutagawa some of his food, he trusts that some other day, akutagawa will give atsushi some of his. he doesn't need to live in fear that he won't eat again, because he trusts that akutagawa won't let that happen.
and lastly, rest. sleep. sleeping next to somebody is one of the most vulnerable things you can do, especially for atsushi and akutagawa, who were in danger throughout their childhoods. sleeping means you can be killed. sleeping means you are unaware. sleeping means you can be betrayed. to close their eyes, let alertness of their surroundings slip away, feel sure that the other won't hurt or kill them, maybe even that the other will hold them gently... that's the sort of trust they'd have.
So Akutugawa just watched Atsushi disintegrate before his eyes and who knows if he even knew what that meant.
In doing regained his memories and is currently at the strongest and probably also the angriest he’s ever been in his life.
Well.
Good luck to Fyodor he’s never getting another word in ever again.
Full offense but your writing style is for you and nobody else. Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use “unrealistic” writing patterns, slap words you don’t even know are words on the page. Language is a sandbox and you, as the author, are at liberty to shape it however you wish. Build castles. Build a hovel. Build a mountain on a mountain or make a tiny cottage on a hill. Whatever it is you want to do. Write.
