It’s with emotion I share with you this marleyan waltz between Reiner & Bertolt, that I drew in 2023 for @reibertzine ❤️⛺️ !! Many thanks again for all the memories !! Despite the years these panels still have a special place in my heart ! I loved drawing this sensuality and love tension growing between these two complementary boys…became men ! 🔥

I also think this Tolt is still among the best Timeskip Bertolt I drew so far ! 😳🔥He is exactly the handsome and more confident man - while keeping his tenderness ! - I always imagined he would be as an adult !!

I swear that ppl complaining bout Bertholdts name have never been in other fandoms. Like legit this is one of the normal names you can find in anime&manga. Really you have seen NOTHING

pressing little kisses to the blondes neck till the other is laughing, pulling away with a soft “jean knock it off, your stubble is itchy” which then makes jean bury his face in reiner’s neck, rubbing his cheek against his neck and listening to the laughs spilling past his favorite lips, his boyfriend trying to shove him off, but his long limbs have their advantages

soft nights in bed, under the covers, curled around the back of his love, safe and protected as he listens to the nighttime chatter, reiner’s gentle snores bringing a smile to his face as he kisses his shoulder, caressing the others side as he lets sleep take him

Eren: says "trust me" in 96% of situations but never actually explains why you should trust him (and he rarely proves that you should)

Mikasa: stares off intensely into space as if she is mad, but it is just her way of listening

Armin: will just state very random, very specific facts mid-conversation (regardless of context), but tries to tie it back to the conversation

Jean: complains about every minor inconvenience but it's kinda funny

Sasha: insists on trying everyone's food but reacts neutrally every time (she doesn't want to seem too excited)

Connie: says "no worries" after making a request, even the small ones, because he doesn't want to bother people

Erwin: always looks like he is in deep thought but most of the time he is just wondering if he locked the door or turned the stove off

Levi: obsessively cleans, but then leaves a random object (like his tea cup) for days

Hange: often starts conversations with "this might be weird" or "hear me out" and they always are very weird statements (but harmless)

Annie: always seems slightly annoyed (RBF), even when she is having a good time

Bertholdt: often looks like he has something to say in a conversation, but never says anything when you stop the conversation to ask him what he wants to say

Reiner: starts super deep/intimate conversations at the most inconvenient time, like waiting in line at the bank

Historia: overuses pet names like "sweetie" or "honey" with everyone, even people she just met

Ymir: uses sarcasm so frequently that it's almost impossible to tell when she's being serious or sincere

“it’s not safe here anymore- we need to leave. Now!”

Reiner could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up as the thick fog slowly rolled towards him “come on Jean!” He commanded his friend. They really, really needed to leave. Everyone knew that with the fog came the creatures. He could already head the screeches in the distance as he reached out, prompting Jean to take his hand and let him help him up. Still Jean refused, arms crossed tightly in front of his chest as he balanced on the ledge.

“For fuck’s sake! What’s keeping you?!” Reiner hollered “they’re coming!” His heart was hammering in his chest now, icy chills racing down his spine with each distant screech. He could see the fear in Jean’s eyes as they met his across the small cliff.

Come on, come on, come on!!! Rushed through his head with every beat of his frantic heart. Then Jean lifted one of his arms and Reiner froze. He stared at his friend with both awe and red, furious anger painted on his face as the most petite little white lamb peered at him from Jean’s hold.

“I’m not leaving him!” Jean said, his firm tone failing miserably to hide the primal fear that was slowly overtaking his system. Of course, Reiner thought. Of course the only thing Jean would gamble his own safety for was another life. Even a life as miniscule as a tiny lamb.

The screeches came closer, now accompanied by the leathery sound of flapping wings. They needed to go. Now. Steping close to the edge he opened his arms, gaze nervously scanning the slopes for dangers before he shouted “jump!”

And Jean did. He slammed into Reiner’s body with a loud umph and knocked him to the ground. Reiner cursed as his shoulder slammed into the rocky path, but did his best to shield the two souls in his arms from the impact.

Jean rolled off him, quickly checking in on the tiny lamb while Reiner scrambled to his feet and then allowed the other man to yank him to his feet just as the fog rolled over them. The visibility reduced to zero almost instantly while the screeches and flapping grew eerily close by the second. Reiner barely suppressed his panic as he pushed Jean along roughly, his brain single mindedly focusing on getting them the hell out of there. Finally jean was running and Reiner kicked up the dirt behind him to follow along. To their right a tormented scream rang through the fog as the creatures took down a lonely soul on the mountain. The unholy sounds only spurred them on as they rushed down as fast as their legs could carry them.

After what felt like an eternity, a smidge of light finally pierced the solid grey in front of them. Their mad dash became even more frantic and Reiner all but shoved Jean and the little lamb into the sun as they reached the valey of safety. Just as his fingers slipped off Jean’s jacket and sent him stumbling into the light, thick, sharp talons dug into his shoulders, knocking him to the ground. He screamed as the terror and pain shot through him. His hands shot up anf in a rush of adrenaline gripped the legs of the creature and flung it into the ground with a nauseating sound of bones crushing. It went limp and he stared at it as the fog slowly rolled back, revealing a eagle sized creature with long talons, leathery bat wings and the head of a goat, horns and everything, but with abnormal, long fangs protruding from the upper lip. He shuddered as the fog let go of him, letting light shine on his blood soaked coat.

“Fuck! Reiner are you okay?!” Jean rushed over, still clutching the stupid lamb thag nearly had cost them their life.

“Yeah, it’s just a scratch…” he trailed off and they both stared down at the creature. Neither of them had ever seen one up close before and so they were awestruk. Their awe quickly turned into concern as the shift settled in. Ever so slowly, the creature morphed into a white woolen animal. The wings folded in on themselves, elongated into normal front legs and the talons retracted, making room for regular hooves.

Jean gasped as the shape finally settled and a normal sheep lay before them.

He reached out to cover the eyes of the lamb. It was silly, he knew. But it still felt like the right thing to do.

“Well… fuck me…” Reiner nudged the dead sheep with his boot. Then he looked at Jean “you better name thst critter since it nearly got me killed.” He said, nodding to the lamb.

Jean stared at him for a brief second before bursting into laughter, the stress of the flight finally letting up.

They named the lamb Bert.

i use tiktok mostly just to post my own edits and see my mutuals stuff now bc im sick of the fandom on there. most of them clearly watched the show with their head up their ass or smth because they’re manage to come up with the most simultaneously hilarious and horrible takes ever.

also because not a single one of them can take bertholdt’s character seriously without rehashing the exact same name jokes i’ve heard since i joined the fandom in 2021. like sure some are funny but it gets so old so quickly, and when you make a post actually going into his character and being a bit more serious the comments are just “poor [some word beginning with b]” like PLEASE SHUT UP FOR A MOMENT!!!

literally had to put in the caption of one of my bert videos “stfu about his name for once” bc i knew the kind of comments i’d receive if i didn’t.

this fandom rather completely forgets his character (who is extremely important to the plot and towards the entire character of reiner but that’s a whole other thing), hates him for what he did even tho they love reiner/annie, or they treat him like a joke and never bother to go past surface level with his character.

he is the most interesting warrior imo because he was the first to openly admit and see that all the fighting was stupid and pointless. that the paradis eldians were no different from him and him killing them wasn’t personal, it was what had to be done to save his father. there’s alot more to him but im worried this will become like 3k words if i dont stop but most of the fandom can’t even comprehend that its actually ridiculous.

people treat him like absolute shit because he died first and he was weak when firstly shut the fuck up?? he was not weak in the slightest and had the most powerful titan ability bar the actual fucking founding titan. like oh my god. and other people say “oh he was too attached to reiner” dog that’s the point. of his character. oh my god.

idk i think im just sick of the fandom treating him like this. he and connie are imo the most overlooked characters in the entire animanga.

and don’t even get me started on how shit both him and connie are treated in official arts and stuff bc. wow
