You should tell people how important they are to you. Not because they could leave at any moment, but because they’re here now, and it’s worth saying something.

“I just found some old pics of myself back in heavy active addiction. My whole body was covered in bruises. I told people I was anemic and ran into the things. They never questioned me further. They never said they knew the truth. They never tried getting me help. They just watched. Watch me fall to pieces. Watched as I went down like a sinking ship. Watched me lose myself.
