Chapter 4 - You've Never Been Here Before

"What the hell happened!? Who changed your clothes!? Who changed MY clothes!? Why is your skin pure white!? What the hell is going on?!?!?"

Aubrey's rapid stream of questions passed by Sunny as his own mind rushed thoughts through it.

Is this a dream? This wasn't Whitespace. Was he in Headspace? Or maybe even... Bla-?

*smack*

"Answer me, dumbass!" Aubrey shook Sunny as snapped back to reality(?). At least he knows that this Aubrey is probably the real one.

"I...  think we're in what the door led to," Sunny replied with the answer with the least likely chance to freak out Aubrey again. At least he could talk in this space.

"...Ya think?" Aubrey snarked, unsatisfied. The pair looked around there surroundings more. They both spot yellow lights along the long gray path in front of them.

"Where do you think that leads?" Aubrey asked the room.

"WHY IT LEADZ TO ZTUDIOWOOD NEW CONTEZTENT!" the room answered.

Sunny and Aubrey jumped and snap to the source of the voice. On the edge of the gray cliff, shows a short figure on a floating platform, dressed in a striped brown tuxedo and a golden bowtie, topped with a large TV head and a crown. Next to him was another floating platform, carrying a taller woman in a flowing black dress and wearing white gloves, with her hair in two buns and glasses protecting cartoonish styled eyes. She had a deadpan serious look on her face, while the TV head was grinning border to border behind a microphone where his hand was suppose to be.

"CAN YOU BELIEVE IT REMONA, ZO MANY NEW CONTEZTENTZ IN ZUCH SHORT TIME! TALK ABOUT BUY NOW GET MORE FREE!" Mike spoke with a voice laced with static.

"It seems I'll have to modify the upcoming events again sir." Remona spoke calmly in a fuzzier voice like a late-night radio channel.

"OH DEAR AZZIZTENT, THAT JUZT MEANS EVEN I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE ZTORYZ HEADING! THAT'Z HOW ZUPERHERO MOVIE'Z ARE WRITTEN NOWADAYZ AND THEY'RE A HIT IN THE BOX OFFIZE!" Mike continued on, as his words caused a roar of laughter to awaken out of the void around them, adding to the mix of confusion and fear coming from Sunny and Aubrey.

"...What?" Aubrey finally says in rising concern, calling the attention of the new pair to her.

"OH, MY DEAREZT APOLOGIEZ NEW CONTEZTENT, I FORGOT THE OPENING LINE!" Mike shouts as he clears his voice for the next part. "HELLO ALL EYEZ AND EARZ, I'M YOUR HOZT MIKE R. PHONE, AND YOU'RE LIVE ON MRP TV, HOME TO ALL YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS, AND NOW YOUR A PART OF THEM!" He states loudly to the open blackness, receiving an echoing applause from the dark. "TELL ME, WHAT'Z YOUR NAME, LITTLE BOY?"

"S- Sunny?" Sunny replies squinting as he lightly backs away from Mike's bright screen face.

"Don't actually say your name!" Aubrey objected, causing another roar of laughter. "Where the hell is that coming from!?"

"WHY THAT'Z OUR LOVELY AUDIENZE OF COURZE. HOW ARE ALL YOU LOVELY PEOPLE DOING TONIGHT!" Mike beckons to the void, and is showered with cheers yet again.

"Sunny Suzuki and Aubrey Adams, as contestants of MRP TV, we will need to test how you will participate with the following rounds." Remona explained to the duo.

"WE NEVER AGREED!?!?" Aubrey snarls to the new worsts things in her life, causing even more grating laughter.

"DON'T BE LIKE THAT MIZZY, YOU'RE A CONTEZTENT, AND ALL CONTEZTENTZ MUZT FIRZT PLAY..." Mike's face turns to static and then to bright flashing colors as he summons two owl like beings in casual attires, with short sharp noses, wide smiles, and big eyes with varied numbers for pupils.

"ARE. YOU. ZTRONGER THAN A HOOMERSHAL?!" Mike announces with vigor, as the audience claps and cheers.

*Are you stronger than a Hoomershal?

As Sunny and Aubrey instinctively take a battle stance, shining lights started glow from their palms. Instantly, these lights formed to various items. For Sunny, he was now wielding a gray violin with accompanying bow. For Aubrey, she formed a large carrot-like bat which fit to her two mitted hands. To Aubrey, this was just adding on the "weird-ass night" she's having, while Sunny is having a moment of recollection, remembering once weilding the violin not to play, but to slay.

Sunny posed his violin above his shoulder and took position. He readied the bow atop the strings, then playing 3 quick, sharp notes, firing with the last note a slash of air towards a Hoomershal, nearly knocking it back.

Aubrey was astonished by Sunny's sudden action. "Wha- Holy- Sunny what-!?"

"No time to explain!" Sunny interrupted, "Just hit 'em!"

Aubrey looked at the big carrot she was holding, and then to the opposing owls. An eager, aggressive smirk stretched across her face.

"With pleasure."

Aubrey then charged to one of the Hoomershals, and then swung a mighty hit across its chin, the owl flipping then falling from the impact.

"How'd you like THAT?!" Aubrey shouts to the bird like she was asking the universe how it enjoyed it.

"BUY NOW AND GET EXTRA FREE!" The other Hoomershal announced, as it summoned forth a green box to the middle of the battle field. As it was summoned, a light shined out of Sunny's chest, as a purple heart burst out of it, magnetized to the box. The Hoomershal then spawned large tags of various prices and sizes, then readies to launch them towards Sunny's exposed soul.

"Sunny!" Aubrey called out, as Sunny froze in place. This wasn't like his battles in Headspace before. He only seen monster battles from watching Papyrus and Undyne training together.

"Quick," he thought, "what do you in soul battles?"

"Soul traits?" Sunny asked a yellow lizard woman, as she leans towards another figure with a blue glow.

"Y-Yes!" confirms Alphys cheerfully. "In human souls, more than in monster souls, they have certain aspects where, w-while they don't have to fit how the person acts exactly, do dictate how the soul defends themselves in a soul battle." Alphys draws her laser pointer to the purple heart in her presentation.

"This is your soul Sunny! This one is called perseverance. It's a very defensive trait to have, since not only gives the soul more longevity through longer I-frames, o-oh I'll explain that later, I-it allows the owner of the soul to..."

"Read between the lines."

As the price tags are close to attacking, thin purple lines formed across the direction of the attack's course. Focusing on the most visible lines first, Sunny dodged and ducked his soul around the speeding tags, barely avoiding them without a scratch.

...before being ambushed by multiple fluctuating percentages dropping down like rainfall on the soul, each hit sending a shock of pain on Sunny's upper half, causing him to cover his head to no avail.

Aubrey's head snapped back to the Hoomershal she bashed, it's arm raised up and cackling. "PRICE DROP ENDING IN 5 MINUTES! CALL NOW!" the bird taunts.

Aubrey clicks her tongue at it before dashing toward Sunny.

"Sunny! Holy shit are you okay!?" Aubrey stuttered as she helped her friend up.

"W- where's the leak ma'am" Sunny mustered to speak, his head spinning. The owls hoot in clustered unison.

"Can these guys give us a break?" Aubrey groaned.

"They're ad breaks, they never rest!" Sunny responded in full seriousness.

"I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN 24 HOURS, BUY NOW!" The Hoomershals squawked as they seem to ready another attack. The receiving end braced themselves for the attack until...

"Sleep Mist!"

Suddenly, a wave of blue gas sweeps the area, passing the two teens and splashing on to the owls, knocking them out cold in  deep slumber. The mysterious voice reveals herself to be Noelle, cloaked in a snow white dress, sliding in front of Sunny and Aubrey!

"G-gosh, I didn't think I could do that spell on my own!" the deer cheers with relief.

*Team Sunny won!

"Are you guys alright?" Noelle ask her schoolmates, emanating a blue-green glow out her hand which seemingly heals the wounds the now powered down Sunny acquired during the fight.

"I- maybe- Noelle when the hell did you so strong?" Aubrey stutters to her antlered savior.

"Oh y-you know, just being empowered by dream- not dream- ohgoditwasntadream- um- D- Dark World..!" Noelle somehow stutters harder, wrapping her own mind around this present time.

"Dark World?" Sunny was about to ask the deer until being interrupted by a voice of static.

"WOWZA! WHAT A PLOT TWIZT! THE CONTEZTENT COUNT IS FINALLY AN EVEN NUMBER!" Mike booms his voice as he raised his normal left palm towards Noelle, enveloping her in a bubble with a color bar shine. Noelle was caught off guard, having a particular case of Deja vu.

"Hey! Let her go!" Aubrey demands, pointing the still active carrot towards the tyrannical TV.

"It seems Contestant Undyne will have a partner in the upcoming trails," Remona states, causing Sunny to echo her name.

"ZWELL THEN, ANYTHING YOU WANT TO ZAY TO OUR FINE FOLKZ AT HOME BEFORE WE TAKE OFF?" Mike beckons Noelle as he pulls the bubble closer.

"S- Sunny! Aubrey!" Noelle beckons her own allies. "T- this might sound strange but in this world there are battles like in the real world but your magic's stronger and the enemies are unrecognizable and you have to seal a fountain to get home and-" Noelle takes a breath before continuing, " What I'm trying to say is that you can still spare people you fight and they might help you and also maybe find Kris and Susie because Kris' soul is the only way out?!??!"

"OKAY BURNING RUNTIME HERE WE'LL BE BACK AFTER THESE MEZZAGEZ FOLKZ!" Mike and Remona levitate up to the air before zooming straight towards the distant lights of Studiowood.

"OkaythatsitgooDLUUUUuuuuuuuck-!" Noelle managed to spit our as she becomes a distant pixel into the city, leaving the two newcomers completely dumbfounded.

"I... guess we follow them?" Sunny shrugs towards Aubrey, meeting with her befuddled eyes.

"...You're taking this too well. How are you taking this so well?" Aubrey punctuates.

"Well," Sunny starts up, formulating a response that would make Madotsuki grin in pride.

"I might've been in a spiritual predecessor"

Hey readers! Sorry this took longer than usual! This part was longer than i thought it be, along with some personal happenings caused this to get delayed quite a bit. I can only hope to try to pace myself for these in the future.

Also, how do you like the new chapter cover? This should give you a good gist of the 3 OMORI characters going foward.
