Ashes Of The Academy Is On Point About Mai And Zuko Not Being Back Together Yet Mostly Because The Comic

Ashes of the Academy is on point about Mai and Zuko not being back together yet mostly because the comic takes place around a year after Smoke and Shadow. And the writer of Smoke and Shadow did say they will get together again after three years after Smoke and Shadow right? that means 2 years after Ashes of the Academy. I personally loved seeing Mai's development and her chosen career for the future. It sounds cute being Izumi's teacher at the academy and teasing her.

I do want a comic about them getting back together though. Maybe if there is a Zuko movie? or comic it doesn't matter. they do need to conclude the Fire Nation and Azula's arc.

exactly! mai would not take any risk that could involve endangering the students.

and how is it ooc when there’s nothing from the og source material stating that mai is so obsessed with her weapons she does absolutely everything with them? 😭 no hate whatsoever but it seems like people are just making up headcanons on the spot to find things to complain about since the comics are so easy to attack because of their unpopularity in the atla fandom

mai not having knives because they're "dangerous" is the biggest ooc possible. it's ridiculous. she sleeps with knives, she eats with knives, she works with knives. don't tell me she didn't snuggle a few shurikens under her sleeves and didn't pin some darts to her ankles
