me and the fuckass work that's looking at me funny
exactly! mai would not take any risk that could involve endangering the students.
and how is it ooc when thereโs nothing from the og source material stating that mai is so obsessed with her weapons she does absolutely everything with them? ๐ญ no hate whatsoever but it seems like people are just making up headcanons on the spot to find things to complain about since the comics are so easy to attack because of their unpopularity in the atla fandom
mai not having knives because they're "dangerous" is the biggest ooc possible. it's ridiculous. she sleeps with knives, she eats with knives, she works with knives. don't tell me she didn't snuggle a few shurikens under her sleeves and didn't pin some darts to her ankles
this is what the fandom needs to understand ๐คฆโโ๏ธ couldnโt have worded it better
I really think "Aang should not have killed Ozai" and "there is ample reason for Ozai to be dead" are two statements that can absolutely coexist.
Aang would have had to give up the teachings and philosophy of his culture, that he is the sole survivor of, in order to kill Ozai, who already mocked his culture for being "weak" and "not deserving to exist in this world." Aang choosing not to kill Ozai is a testament to his and his people's strength and it takes Ozai's words and makes him eat them.
Anyone else? They don't face the same responsibility. If it had been them to face Ozai, then they would have every reason to kill him.
But the reason it was Aang who faced him is the same reason that Aang didn't kill him. Ozai was forced to look at the last member of a culture who his ancestors wiped off the face of the earth, to look at someone who he viewed as lesser, as primitive, as weak, and to be defeated by that person without them ever giving up their people's philosophy, even when he thought that murder and violence was the only way to show strength and "deserving" of existing. It's more complicated than "Ozai should have died."
in another life, maybe it was you and me, maybe there we loved each other right
I am very clearly deranged I simply couldn't not post this
People really try and say Katara is Izumiโs mom like honey?? That baby looks nothing like Katara??? Someone got Zuko pregnant and I know for a fact it wasnโt Katara
They don't necessarily say Katara is the mom, but they try to go "Oh, Maiko broke up in the comics, so Mai can't possibly be the mom" even though Izumi literally has the same face.
It's a blatant attempt at downplaying the fact that Zuko chose Mai over Katara or whoever they ship him with.
And let me be clear, I don't mind people just using the character of Izumi, or at least the name, in fics and making her the child of Zuko with some other woman, I do that too. The problem is the blatant denial of reality.
She's a Maiko baby. Plain and simple.
โzutara represent yin and yang!! theyโre tui and la!!!!!โ but both of them are yin/tui LMAOO
I can't stop laughing
iroh ii my man i love him i love him i love him ๐๐๐
(But if there was any justice in the world, Zuko and Izumi would be 100+ years old and still kicking in this post apocalyptic era.)
