"Such-and-such individual behavior is a drain on public health resources" arguments never sir right with me b/c like....Bodily autonomy is, to me, the fundamental right without which all others are meaningless.

I'm another proggie collectivist too. Healthcare ought to be publicly funded at no consumer cost. But if people's access to it is predicated on them being sufficiently well-behaved and "responsible," you've turned what should be a public good into another tool of tyranny.
