Yoooooo okay I realized something. So we know that shopkeepers can’t be attacked. It isn’t a game function; it’s literally not possible.
When you threaten Gerson, you get:
Shopkeepers/NPCs that sell items are invulnerable to attack due to an in-universe rule that you can’t initiate a fight with anyone who is actively selling something. I say actively because technically you have the option to sell items all the time at different shops (although not every shopkeeper will agree to buy), but monsters will still attack you and bosses can still pull you into a fight. If you’re smart, like Gerson, you can use this weird mechanic to keep yourself safe and alive. You can avoid hostile encounters, and thus damage/death, by becoming a peddler.
And who do we know in this game that a) has dangerously low HP, b) keeps a tight lid on powers that could otherwise be used to protect themselves, and c) is constantly found selling things?
Sans is literally keeping himself alive by selling random stuff.
Wait sans canonically has an accent??
He does! Now, it’s a pretty subtle thing because UTDR characters usually have very little in the way of phonetic accents (like, the knight chess piece NPC from Deltarune has a southern accent but you can mostly only tell it because they don’t say their final ‘g’s and call Kris “horsie”) but if you pay attention to his speech, you’ll be able to pinpoint some little hints Sans has a few speech habits going on. For one, he tends to shorten the word “you” to “ya” and other similar forms of it:
He also refers to the player character as variations of “buddy” and “pal” a lot.
But what gives it away as being (what I, with my limited knowledge of American accents think it is, at least!) a cartoon Brooklyn accent is his usage of “capiche” and “forgeddaboudit”, heh.
Im obsessed with that blue daddy (and his teeth
anti-papyrus-babyification brigade forever but you can tear sans' mom moments from my cold dead hands
Looking into the Abyss
part 1/part2/part3/part4/ part5 the end!
hehe really this comic it started out of nothing.. i kept going and i just couldn’t stop.. and is mostly improvisation so that’s why is kinda weird with the pacing and what is the focus of the story; which is just Sans and Alphys being friends. (yeah it was not meant to be Salphys but if you wanna take it that way i don’t really mind lol)..
also there it might be some nonsense because i didn’t know exactly what to write in some panels like science stuff or whatever and also bad english here and there … XD so, sorry about that…but i hope you liked it ^_^ and thanks for reading it!

A glorious fuck-ton of perspective angle references (per request).

i always find it interesting when fanfic writes papyrus as very emotionally aware and empathetic and sans as nervous and unable to read others' intentions because canonically, it's the other way around.
sans can literally figure out exactly how many times he's killed you by the look on your face. meanwhile, papyrus mistakes your clear disgust with his spaghetti for passion and projects his own feelings about puzzles and friendship onto you.
the difference is that papyrus is extraordinarily COMPASSIONATE, even if he's not super empathetic. he can't always tell what someone is feeling, but he cares deeply and tries to help as soon as he knows that something is wrong. he is also usually pretty good at figuring out what people need! like, for instance, knowing alphys needs a friend in the true lab, or realizing undyne needs a challenge to motivate her to become friends with you.
meanwhile, sans is so depressed and apathetic that he just... doesn't seem able to muster up enough energy to care for other people in the same way. he understands how other people are feeling, but that doesn't necessarily translate to compassion for him. he cares about his brother, and he cares about toriel, and he eventually comes to care about you in a pacifist run but... other than that it seems like he struggles to care about others.
anyway, i just find it interesting that people mistake papyrus's compassion for empathy, and sans' apathy as a lack of empathy.
felicia telling irving the only time she ever saw burt scared was when he spent two hours fixing his hair before going to see him,,,,,, irving drawing burt over and over between the times he could see him,,,,,, felicia hugging irving the second she saw him, having lunch with him and telling him stories,,,,,,, irving's getting the "widow that's still loved by the family" treatment by o&d as he rightfully deserved
PLEASE watch this. i love chaotic sisters best dynamic in the world
Lieutenants’ working space, coloured
idk what ricks daemon would be but i feel like their relationship would be really volatile cus ricks got a pretty self-destructive personality also pretty sure mortys daemon hasnt settled yet (but itd be cool if it was usually a guinnea pig cus that kinda works with the whole being used in mad science experiments thing)
ah definitely! i can see their dynamic as being very unbalanced though.. i feel like rick’s dæmon would be pretty ruthlessly cruel to him (”jeez rick why did you fuck that up!” when he makes a mistake; ”hey remember that time you fucked up!” when he’s trying to relax–probably one of the reasons he drinks so much is to sedate her & get her to shut up)
meanwhile he’d be kind of affectionately grumpy towards her, but idolize her too? because she’s this purely intellectual being who ultimately doesn’t have to take any responsibilities for her actions, just perch on his shoulder and theorize & scheme, and i think he’d envy her detachment and kind of put his own wisdom & knowledge on a pedestal you know?
also he gets a raven because.. i enjoy obvious mythology cliches, and like..
“Odin, the father of all humans and gods, though in human form, was imperfect by himself. As a separate entity he lacked depth perception and he was apparently also uninformed and forgetful. But his weaknesses were compensated by his ravens, Hugin (mind) and Munin (memory) who were part of him. As a god, Odin was the ethereal part—he only drank wine and spoke only in poetry.” -x
(also a guinea pig for morty omg–me and janin were thinking some kind of sad little rodent too? janin says a rat, but also i like the idea of a hamster, because hamsters look so harmless, but they seem like they are secretly bloodthirsty..)
