Summary: The sully kids are new on the island, and Neteyam, the always responsible kid eats a fruit that has a similar effect to being drunk. He comes to you as he feels sick but stays in the drunken state, so he’s cuddly. Just fluff tbh. Also somewhat friends to lovers. SFW

Neteyam was prideful, that was one of the very well known things about him. He took pride in being able to protect his siblings, no matter what. So when Tuk and Kiri decided to go and explore the deeper parts of forests surrounding the Pandora reefs, he had to go. Not that these forests were ANY similar to the ones back home. These trees were not as high, foliage not as lush, life clearly gone, all the life living in the water surrounding the island. But he still somehow felt the need to protect his sisters. Just in case.

“So,” Kiri teased, as Tuk ran around them and had to touch and stare at each plant on their way, “how is it going with Y/N?”

“Hm?” And suddenly he wished he didn’t go with them. “Oh, um, good.” He said, trying to hide his nervousness at the mention of your name.

“You haven’t talked to her, have you.”

Neteyam rolled his eyes at his sisters question. Since when did Kiri care about relationships? As far as he was aware; she always gagged and pretended to vomit when something romantic happened in her presence. Which was true, but Kiri did not mind you in particular.

You were similar to her, finding peace in nature. She was the first of the Sully kids you connected with when you took her to your favorite spots near Awa’atlu, showing her rare colorful stones buried in near rivers. Long story short, she really liked you. She thought you could be the calm Neteyam needed in his life. He was constantly in pressure (tho he’d never admit it), constantly chasing being perfect. He needed someone who’d draw him back. Someone he would not have to stress around constantly.

Someone he could just be himself around. Not “the perfect son,” not the perfect brother, the perfect warrior, just himself.

He tried to be perfect for his dad, living up to the great Toruk Makto, tried to be perfect for his mother, Neytiri, he wanted to make her proud. Especially now, that she was obviously unhappy hiding here. Perfect brother that would always keep an eye on Lo’ak and save him from trouble. And even tho Kiri and Tuk didn’t ask him to, he wanted to be perfect for them too. Especially after Aonung and his friends bullied Kiri.

Speaking of which, that’s when he first started to really like you. Lo’ak laid his eyes on Tsireya and bum, there it was, man was in love. But Neteyam was careful about who he allowed in his life. But with you, there was somehow no doubt.
