I once lived in a small home, filled with the laughter and voices of my children. Today, I have become a witness to the agony of displacement. The bombing forced me to flee with my children after a shell struck our home, leaving behind years of memories and simple belongings I never imagined would become unreachable. 🏚️💨
Every morning, I leave my tent and go to work, using a clay oven to provide food for my children. Meanwhile, my youngest son heads to the charity kitchens that offer aid, waiting for long hours under Gaza’s scorching sun. Despite the exhaustion that weighs down his frail body, he carries the food mixed with his tears and returns with a fake smile, hiding behind it the burdens of his struggles. 🍞🥀
At night, when everyone else is asleep, I remain seated at the entrance of my tent, gazing at the dark sky, reminiscing about days gone by… about my home that was once filled with warmth. Yet, I still find remnants of hope in my heart—a hope that one day peace will return, and my children and I will live in a new home, filled with joy. 🌙🏡✨
In moments of solitude, I find peace in prayer and supplication. I plead to God to protect Gaza and its people, to wipe away the dust of sorrow from our hearts. I always repeat🇵🇸🍉🌿

I started trying as much as possible to avoid the piles of rubble and ignore the gray color that surrounds me from every side and everywhere but..
To no avail.
I started feeling extremely sad whenever I saw the burned trees uprooted from their roots.
Whenever my eyes fell on their huge roots that split the ground and floated above its surface, I felt that something inside me was being uprooted, as if I was the one whose roots were being exposed, exposed to the cruelty of time. The pain in my chest intensifies, and sadness grows heavier on my soul, as if those trees reflect the cracks and wounds inside me.
The sea that I always loved sitting in front of for hours, that friend that I always escape to, I'm tired of it

How cruel it is for a person to find himself in a situation he never imagined… to transform from a professional, from a person who works hard to earn a living with dignity, to someone who extends his hand begging for help, not because he wants to, but because he is forced, coerced, trapped between hunger, injustice and betrayal.
Begging… is not just asking for money, but it is the loss of a part of the self, the breaking of the spirit that used to give instead of waiting for giving. We did not get here because we made a mistake, we did not choose this path, but it was imposed on us by force.
Since when did we run after screens, looking for a glimmer of hope in donation links, sending message after message, enduring embarrassment, facing rejection, being expelled from some people’s conversations as if we were a burden? Since when did this become the reality we have to live?
Do you know what is harder than hunger? Not the lack of food, nor the loss of money… but to have your dignity taken away in broad daylight, to find yourself being fought from all sides, to feel that the whole world wants you to break, to become just a beggar on the doorsteps of organizations and donations.
But we no longer expect anything from the world… not from governments, nor from politicians, nor from those who draw maps with our blood. All that remains for us is you… you are the ones who feel for us, who understand our suffering, who realize that what we are living is not life, but a daily struggle for survival.

This is not a scene from a heartbreaking story; it is our daily reality under the closure of crossings and the prevention of food supplies from entering. This is the policy of starvation, slowly suffocating us, making war itself seem trivial compared to the agony of hunger and the crushing feeling of helplessness. 😓
We are trying to endure, but for how long? We fear losing our minds before our bodies give in. That is why we are calling on you to stand with us in this ordeal, to extend a helping hand so we can complete our fundraising and buy what little food remains in the markets.

Tonight, I was walking alone, with no one to accompany me but the night and its silent moon.
The trees were still, as if they had lost the ability to move, but the scent of flowers and soft buds beginning to bloom with the approach of spring mingled with the scent of the soil, unlike any other scent in this world, as if the earth were whispering to life to rise again.
The road was long, but I didn't feel bored. I wanted to walk endlessly, as if I were escaping something I didn't know, or perhaps searching for something I hadn't yet found. The moon kept me company in my solitude, silently watching me, speaking to me without words.
But I forgot about it and ignored it for a moment, and played Mabel Matiz's "Samanyolu." Its melodies seeped deep within me, shattering something inside me, stealing me from myself.
I almost cried, but I didn't.
At that moment, my memories flowed like an endless waterfall.
I saw my childhood in all its beautiful details, remembering days that were warmer and clearer.
I suddenly realized that life is a moment, and that its train moves on without waiting for anyone.
I also realized that I was in Gaza, my sad city,
where I had never enjoyed a single day in my youth, where dreams are extinguished before they light up, and where sadness has become a silent, incessant companion.
I felt I was finished, but I wasn't completely.
My tears finally flowed. I felt the mist covering my eyes, and I saw the glowing threads of moonlight like a flute playing a sad tune in the sky.
But amidst all that sadness, there was something beautiful, something I couldn't explain, as if my soul had found a rare moment of honesty.
It was something captivating.

Forgive me if I'm burdening you, but I'm writing to you full of hope... a small hope, but it's all I have left amidst this devastation. The war didn't just steal my home and my job, it extended to steal my dream of becoming a father, taking from me and my beloved Shahad everything we'd built, everything we'd waited for. It left us with nothing but tents, hunger, and the fear that haunts us day and night, as if we were born only to resist loss.
Why is this happening to us? Don't we have the right to live like others? To wake up every morning without fearing how we'll earn a living to stave off hunger? Don't I have the right to return to my job and receive a salary without having to reach out to others for help?
I don't like begging, and I don't think I'd have reached this point if I hadn't been forced to do so. The war forced me to do this, and it forced me to ask you, to any person who still has a trace of compassion in their heart. Please, if you can help me even a little, know that your generosity will not be in vain, but will give me another day to endure this harsh life.

We were living a pretty good life, you know? Peaceful, loving, and full of life. But then, we found ourselves in a really tough spot. Hunger, fear, and terror have become our new normal. My kids and I, along with my extended family, are struggling to make ends meet. We don't have the basic necessities of life, and our living situation is pretty rough. We're in these old, falling-apart tents. It's so hard to know what to do when winter comes. We'll be soaked in the rain and wind, and I'll be at a loss as to how to keep my family safe, from the bombing and from the winter.🥹

From a comfortable and safe home to a small tent that is unable to withstand the extreme temperatures of summer or winter, you wake up to the sounds of explosions everywhere. Next week, the occupation will allow us to return to our homes from which we were forcibly removed on October 7. We will return to our neighborhood, our area, and our city, but after what the occupation has done to destroy it. We will come back to mourn our homes and our shattered memories. The occupation has literally brought us back to square one. We will start working anew for a dignified life. We will begin to clear the rubble of our homes and rebuild them from scratch. During this entire period, which might take two or three years, we will live in poor conditions and face hardships and bitterness at all times.
But we will not give up; we will continue to work and struggle to rebuild our homes and restore our city, and we will not abandon it until death. We will continue to work together as one group, and you, my friends, can join us in that.
