hello? is anybody there?
if you like strawberry shortcake or care bears, please consider buying something from the original creator and designer, Muriel Fahrion’s website! she never got paid royalties for creating/designing strawberry shortcake and care bears to this day.
she went through incredibly tough times as an artist and went into debt after her husband died— until in 2019 she started being more public on social media about being the original creator of strawberry shortcake, care bears, and the get along gang. despite everything, she still loves strawberry shortcake and spreads nothing but kindness and positivity on her instagram (everyday she always posts a daily video of her dancing in her kitchen :) she’s so full of joy) she inspires me so much as an artist! it would mean a lot if you supported her and bought something cute from her website!
Gaara is truly the Character of All Time
-Introduced as main antagonist in a tournament arc, the terrifying bloodthirsty ninja from a strange desert village who kills without remorse and has survived every mission without getting a scratch on him
-He's 12
-Character design 10/10 he has bright fucking brick red hair, literal raccoon eyes, a face tattoo that says "Love" and carries that weird ass gourd; between the fun elements and the interesting tie-ins to Tanuki Lore, I have never seen a more charming design in my life tbqh
-Immediately more emo and chuuni than Noted Emo Heartthrob Sasuke Uchiha by virtue of reciting weird poetry after killing a guy in cold blood
-We get his tragic backstory and by fucking GOD is it sad. I cry just thinking about it. Literally everything about it is just horrible and devastating.
-Talk No Jutsu at end of the tournament arc, Gaara realizes that he should, in fact, go to therapy and immediately decides to turn his life around
-The first thing he decides to do is apologize to his siblings <3
-Shows up a handful of arcs later with a cool new outfit and becomes friends with the kid he literally tried to murder and nearly permanently crippled in one of the best fights of the entire series
-Liam O Brian's English dub of Gaara is Stellar ya know what. The raspiness of the original appearance morphing into the Deepest Voice That Any Kid Has Ever Had Ever was a genuinely hilarious choice
-Has the only good filler arcs in the old show; he's such a good character that the entire show molds itself and rises to meet him
-Post timeskip he is Desert Ninja President at the ripe old age of 15 and is extremely good at it because he's the weirdest little nerd with no social skills (on account of his tragic backstory) and diligently applies himself to doing paperwork and going to meetings
-Has a fanclub in the village mostly of girls his own age that he never seems to talk to?? Or realize have crushes on him?? Oblivious king we love him.
-Dies in one of the most genuinely moving scenes. Comes back like 20 episodes of fighting later because where would we be without him honestly?
-Becomes Super General Ninja President of the Grand Army of whatever where he accomplishes such feats as forgiving his asshole father and emotionally healing from his childhood trauma, stopping a meteor, and nearly dying a second time.
-Collects cacti as a hobby
-Has the only good sequel series arc where it's revealed that in addition to continuing to serve as Desert Ninja President, he's decided to adopt a couple of orphan ninja kids so that he can break the cycle of parental neglect and stupidity that created his tragic backstory in the first place.
I think that regarding the ghosts in particular itd make a lot of sense for them to be the ghosts of humans, like actual ghosts not just ghost-shaped monsters, that would explain Mettaton's obsession with humans and his want of a more "human" body + we know that ghosts dont work the same way that other monsters do, like being immortal and all.
Also i think its interesting to see the way they cope with being undead beings, depression/sadness from Napstablook, Anger from Mad Dummy and Denial for Mettaton. Something interesting about Mad dummy is that we see that he stops being 'mad' when he gets a corporeal form (genocide run or mew mew kissy cutie) which furthers the idea that they're not whole as ghosts, probably bc thats not what they were originaly
Terrible feeling this has been theorized before buuut I just thought of it and want to make a post so I shall.
Considering the fact that Toriel was pregnant and gave birth to her son, I always assumed there must be some wacky mechanics behind the birth of skeletons.
But monsters may not all operate by the same biology. After all, what makes a monster a monster? Their soul. The Dreemurrs are goats, Undyne is a fish, Alphys is a lizard. We see slimes and glob people and hand face people, all likely with their own origins.
We know Toby to hide lore behind supposed throwaway lines and jokes. What comes to mind is the Papyrus quote, "I think humans must have descended from skeletons."
Obviously the joke being that all humans have a human skeleton. This is where human skeletons come from, which Papyrus adorably seems ignorant to.
Considering this, is it so outlandish to think that Sans and Papyrus may be the undead skeletons of once human forms? I'm not sure what the "animation process" would be, where their monster soul came from, etc. There's the possibility that theres some process in which the human soul of a dead human gets turned into a monster soul and its remaining power is used to animate the subject? I don't know, obviously there are a lot of holes in this theory. But where else would a pair of human skeletons come from than the remains of once living humans?
Also, consider the ghosts. Napstablook, Mettaton, and Mad Mew Mew. Are ghosts born? Or are they the ghost of something once living? Perhaps a human.
Consider the fact that six humans (plus Chara) died in the underground, but at that point we're getting a little off the rails. While I could probably make a good case, I'm not currently convinced that Sans, Papyrus, and the ghosts are the undead forms of the humans.
Please interact with this post. Poke holes, add evidence, tear it to shreds. Obviously the birth of skeletons may not be so deep other than that Toby wanted skeletons in the game and they give birth through plot magic. But I desperately want to hear the fandom's thoughts.
Since Kid doesn't have a legal last name (I decided it and it cannot be changed in my little brain now) what about him taking the sisters last name?
Like Liz explaining to him what a last name is and how some people even fight with their partners about what last name would their children have etc etc
And Kid realizing that he doesn't have one so he decides to adopt "Thompson" to show his relationship with the sisters
genderbent vento aureo fanart i did last year
I feel like Misa is unrealistic in some way. Kind of reminds me the scene from Frozen you can't marry the man you just met. Misa begged Light for being her boyfriend and they just met in a few minutes. I understand that her parents get killed but at least can't she just like wait for a bit.
I think you might be approaching that scene from the wrong angle here - it's not really about Misa genuinely falling in love.
Misa is a character who dreams of romantic love as a fulfillment that will fix all her problems - which is painfully realistic. You see a lot of people who assume that they would not be miserable if only they weren't single. Society encourages this view of romantic love as the cure-all that will bring meaning to life.
At this point in her life, Misa is still only a year removed from a traumatic event that destroyed most of the world as she knew it - and it was only Kira killing the murderer of her parents that gave her real new hope after that tragedy.
So a good few things come together here:
1.) Misa feels intense gratitude to Kira for anchoring her after her life felt like it had lost direction.
2.) Misa at her core thinks of a relationship as the highest goal.
3.) Light is conventionally attractive.
and debatably 4.) Misa has experienced intense loss and then traded for the eyesight which allows her to see every human as mortal, all the time. Light, being a Death Note owner, does not have a lifespan and is the only person who subjectively seems secure and not likely to be taken away. I don't know if that one is an intentional inference on part of the writing though.
Misa isn't in love with Light.
She's in love with the idea of Light.
You are right, it is deeply unrealistic to fall deeply in love with a person you just met. But Misa doesn't - her care for Light is deeply superficial. She hardly knows him as a person and that... doesn't actually improve ever, at all. She never does learn to care about who he really is. She just wants him to play a part.
And honestly, that is how a lot of relationships in the real world also function and ultimately fail.
Simply saying "I am in love" does not actually make it so.
😳😚
