Sometimes I think about whatever poor soul they've gotten to be the Grand Sage in Alhaitham's place. Like, I M A G I N E being in that person's shoes.
The guy you're replacing staged a full-blown revolution that overthrew your entire nation's way of life because he was concerned he might have to work overtime.
He looks like he could bench press you. He looks like he can shoot lasers with his mind.
This guy you're replacing is on first name basis with the chief of police, the head of Fish and Game, the guy who designed half your country's infrastructure, an entire band of warring desert mercenaries, a millennia-years-old dragon-fighting alien--
For that matter, this guy you're replacing is on first name basis with god.
Shit, you're even hearing rumors that he's somehow the reincarnation of King Deshret?! What will people come up with next??
And yet somehow, somehow this guy fully expects to show up on Tuesday, sit at his desk for eight hours doing nothing more complicated than stamping papers, and then... he wants to just... go home.
What are you even supposed to do with this?
The guy who got arrested for fist-fighting the last grand sage wants to be your secretary.
May Lesser Lord Kusanali have mercy on you, sir or ma'am, because if you come between him and the punch clock, Alhaitham will not.

If this receives 50 reblogs ( 🥺✨) I’ll do my best animating that track (probably animatic like this one, dunno) the real question is, my style or Hetalia style?
Rody, Vincent // Thoughts on S/O
Notes// I've got these random brainrots like, if reader has to play this game connected to the deadplate game in the pov of a journalist to solve some kind of case related to Manon's disappearance-- so Rody and Vincent would be having npcs with extra dialogue lines that talk about their s/o(Y/N, not manon). The other idea of us playing in the pov as the s/o(separate) would be interesting too.
Rody//
•NPC!Rody can be seen walking and catering patrons with a friendly smile. He was wearing roller skates as he often has his hands busy with dish plates during his work shift.
•If you stay long enough to shift restaurant, there is a chance he would stutter his performance a bit as his arms tremble to keep the plates from not falling in his hands.
•When talking to him, his speech is usually rush as he has to shift from one corner of the restaurant to the other, his eyes everywhere as he rambles on yet keeping a friendly aura through his firm smile.
•"Hello- welcome to La Gueule le Saturne! Allow me to guide you to the right table. "
•"Yes? Please stay seated for the mean time, I'll be right back with you soon!"
•"Would you like to order?"
•(asked about S/O) "Oh- Oh? My lover?" *sheepish smile with a goofy blush suddenly* "They're doing great." *easily goes back to work*
•Whether as a coworker or customer. One thing clear is that you're a bit closer enough to know Rody's S/O's name.
•"We can talk later!"
•"What's up? Need a hand?"
•"Uh--- can you take care of the other tables? Thanks!"
•"mmm... I wonder what kinds of flowers I should give for Y/N this time?" *dozing off in the kitchen for a moment *
•(When asked about S/O) "Y/N are at home, and they are taking care of our apartment.. If only i can convince them.to to move a finger.. God, they're so wonderful-- Oh, excuse me." *catches almost getting too deep into the topic before trying to quickly go back to work*
Internal Thoughts//
I love Y/N... I must work hard for them. Without them, I'll be nothing... So I have to do more than my best to give them the love and care they need! I must please them. I must serve them... Well, even if it's too much.. I'm willing to give them everything... my everything.
I promise them a brighter future... where we don't have to worry about money and bills. I just need to earn and save more.
This journalist keeps coming over pretty often--- I wonder what they are looking for? Why are they so curious of my honey? I need to keep them safe from unwanted attention - I'll just try and answer briefly as possible.
___
Vincent//
•Usually you'll see NPC!Vincent in the corner watching the cooks work to check for perfection. No matter how early you are, it's already clear that he's the boss. The one who is the first person to open the restaurant
•Day 4, you can find him walking to the dumpster area to smoke in his break.
•When interacting with him. He'll show a polite, charismatic persona when talking to you as a visitor or patron.
•"Good day, what may I help you..?" *fake smile*
•"Hello, are there any problems with a dish you have ordered? We can try and fix something to recompensate it."
•"Looking for me...?"
•"Oh- may I ask what you are doing here, Monsieur/Mademoiselle? Rody should have informed me about you coming here -"
• (When asked about S/O) "Mm... About my fiancé? They're doing well, thank you for asking." *maintaing a fake smile*
•If you happened to end up working for him as a waiter or cook, his demeanor would probably be a different story.
•"..."
•"What do you need?"
•"......"
•"Why are you still here? You better not try chit-chats on me."
•"...What?"
•(When asked about s/o) "S/O? They're at work. Any business with them? I can let them know on your behalf with anything you need to inform later. Just go back to work."
Internal Thoughts//
I keep mentioning Y/N as "my fiancé " through the press and the public. In reality, We're not officially engaged, but I like the sound of it, and i do it so no one can bother to make advancements on me - I need to be seen as... royally taken.
The journalist keeps asking questions to me... even having the audacity to press on matters related to my Y/N. If they know what really happened to Manon, I must make a backup plan...
And do not fret, mon cher. I'll soon place a real ring on that pretty finger on yours... Once the evidence needs to be rid of from anyone's reach.
"K N E E L"
Had this crossover stuck in my head for a bit hehe
Nyotalia PruAus (+poor little Holy Roman Empire)
what do you mean this isn't what happened
Weeping clown and Mike falling for a modern reader? Please i missed you!!
hmmm i love the circus gang so much you have no idea
Character(s): Acrobat, Weeping Clown
Content: modern reader hcs A/N: I am almost sure that I got this request before I went on summer break because it looked SUPER familiar. However, when I opened my requests again, my inbox was empty. So I think this was either sent in twice or was eaten by Tumblr. Either way, here it is
You’re from the future?! That’s so cool?!?
Listen, he may be traumatized as hell from having to identify a dozen burned dead bodies, losing his home and all his family, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be excited about literal time travel.
Asks you about everything. Every fucking thing. The villain arc will be temporarily delayed.
Well, once the excitement dies down somewhat you’ll still have to deal with the fact that out of the five stages of grief, this man is stuck in anger. But that’s for later to deal with
Would love to see a spring base cotton candy machine
Would love to have witnessed modern cinema
and all those crazy carnival rides nowadays? How did no one die riding those. From what you describe, everyone in the future must be crazy
He treats the reality you come from much more like a story in a fantasy book rather than an actual possibility
Not to say he doesn't believe you, he just can't quite picture it. It sounds exciting though, certainly does
He listens to you talk about your timeline like a child listening to a bedtime story. Outside of that though, he will ignore it entirely.
This occasionally leads to moments where he just does not understand that you have different views or opinions on things based on the knowledge and standards of your varying times.
This sometimes even extends to scientific discoveries, but not as often because he doesn't care for science much
He also doesn't think about what might be or could be or would be in the future. You're probably never going to leave the manor anyway, so who cares which time you'd end up in
It doesn't matter to him, because he has nothing to go back to in his, and nothing to look forward to in your timeline. He has nothing. No matter where he ends up, he'd have to start over. Start from scratch. As long as he's in the manor, with you, the two of you will at least have that.
That's not so bad, is it?
Weeping Clown
Initially very confused about the fact that you came from literally another century
He’s more hesitant with his questions, more focused on trying to understand you and the world you come from rather than be entertained by all the changes that happened.
Honestly, I could see him at some point just being over the fact that you’re from a different time. Like, once he knows all he needs to know it doesn’t matter to him much anymore. Sure, your circumstances and the ideals and standards you grew up with majorly influenced you, and helped to shape you into the magnificent, amazing human being he loves so much but that’s all that matters to him: Who you are right now.
Would definitely love to see this Youtube thing you keep going on about though. He’s very intrigued
Finds that clowns aren't exactly popular anymore so maybe it's good that he lived in the times when he lived because boy would he have lost his job fast
However, apparently, no one can just go out and buy acid anymore, so that's definitely a plus
Based on what you told him, circus 'culture' changed a lot. Not it's more about performance and tricks than wild animals and laughing at 'grotesque' humans.
He thinks it makes sense then that you are as kind as you are, the time you come from is much kinder as well.
But still, he thinks that, if one day you get out of the manor, and maybe get to leave together to witness your time, then he would feel terribly out of place. Your eyes shine whenever you excitedly talk about the advancements of the future, all the good things in your world. All those are things he wouldn't understand. Perhaps it's better then, that you are trapped here. Because at least you are trapped here together, as opposed to a future where inevitably, he'd end up left behind.
I saw a theory (more of an idea, really) on Reddit that Kaveh might become the next Grand Sage, and I just wanted to squeal about that for a hot minute.
(And for clarity cos I feel like it'll come up: Kaveh doesn't have any reliable leaks relating to his kit nor his rarity (whether he's a five star or four star), and even if he is a four star he could very well still be super important to Sumeru's chain of authority (see Ningguang and Kujou Sara if you're doubtful)).
Anyway, my squealing:
It actually makes a surprising amount of sense for Kaveh to become the Grand Sage based on quest info alone - Alhaitham says at the end of Act 5 of the archon quest that he "wouldn't be surprised if Kaveh was appointed as a sage":
While his tone sounds sarcastic, Alhaitham is typically quite honest with his words. His deceits always come by omission, not by lying. Of course, Kaveh assumes Alhaitham is being mocking here, but then in Alhaitham's story quest Kaveh says himself that he should have been made Grand Sage over Alhaitham -
So we have examples in both of Kaveh's in game scenes that convey a desire (or, at the very least, a capacity) to be a Sage. These exchanges are rather comedic though, so I think we should take evidence from Nahida herself; specifically, her "About Kaveh" voiceline:
(sorry for the poor quality)
Nahida herself praises Kaveh's understanding of their Nation and of wisdom itself, whereas she admonishes Alhaitham's viewpoint in her corresponding voiceline about him. This implies that Nahida would choose Kaveh over Alhaitham as Grand Sage.
Lore wise we know that Kaveh is an accomplished graduate of the Ksharewar Darshan, widely known and well-liked. He built the Palace of Alcarazy(?) and the NPCs there sing his praises. While his interactions with Alhaitham are goofy, he can evidently keep up with him in debates and in Alhaitham's voicelines he says that Kaveh's intellect is equal to his own.
Also, there is a pattern in the game so far: each non-archon 'leader' or 'authority' has the vision matching their archon. Jean for Mondstadt, Ningguang for Liyue and Sara/Yae for Inazuma (depending on your perspective). It seemed that Alhaitham would fill this role in Sumeru, seeing as he's dendro and did take over as the Acting Grand Sage, similar to Jean's title. However, his time in that position is incredibly short-lived since he resigns at the end of his story quest (well, technically before it even starts). It is likely that "who will be the new Grand Sage?" will be an ongoing plot thread in Sumeru, much like "when will Varka return?" is in Mondstadt.
Since Kaveh is dendro, he would suit this pattern very well.
I also do just love the vibes of what it would mean for his character, and I think it would be very fun for Sumeru to be led by someone so wholeheartedly compassionate for everyone around them. Kaveh loves the arts and cares a lot about other people, so he matches Nahida's vision of Sumeru much better than Alhaitham does. Which isn't to say Alhaitham is cruel or uncaring, but that he is (as he says himself) not suited to the responsibility of leadership.
And, speaking of Alhaitham, the way this would develop their dynamic is actually rather funny. Technically Kaveh would become Alhaitham's boss, but everyone around them would be aware that Alhaitham saved the country and that Kaveh has only received the position because Alhaitham passed it over first. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be for Kaveh? Technically in charge, but with this information looming over everyone's heads?
Since Hoyo does like to keep a certain status quo, especially in voicelines, it's likely that Alhaitham and Kaveh will remain roommates. This still works even if Kaveh is promoted, with four possible explanations:
Kaveh's debt to Dori is so huge that he's financially screwed for life regardless of his salary
Kaveh is so bad with money that even once he's paid off his debt he still fails to save up for his own house
Because technically Alhaitham's house should also belong to him, Kaveh is stubborn and refuses to move out
Alhaitham and Kaveh reconcile/figure themselves out enough that they actually want to live together even if there's no financial incentive to
Also, I cannot overstate how amusing it would be for the Kavetham dynamic shift of Kaveh getting to fuck with Alhaitham a little as payback for all Alhaitham's trolling.
Anyways, this is a theory/hc that I really like, so I hope we don't get a mystery Sumeru character in 4.6 or something that we've never heard of before who gets to become Grand Sage.
