Heeseung wasnât the type of boyfriend to buy you expensive bouquets or take you to fancy restaurants.
No. Heeseung was the type of boyfriend to pick flowers on the sidewalk for you and order food past midnight. He laid blankets on the hardwood floor of your living room and made picnics on it. The lyrics of a love song and your laughter being the only furor in the middle of the sleeping city. And then, when the bowls were empty and the wine sank in, he was the type of boyfriend to ask you to dance with him.
Barefoot and clumsy, Heeseung loved to dance with you.
The night had fallen into those strange hours when no one could tell if it was really late or really early. The city was silent beyond the opened windows of your living room, allowing Heeseungâs playlist to resonate as if it were the only sound in the entire world.
Along with his laughter, of course.
You looked at him, mind halted in the middle of a sentence you would never finish. You werenât sure if you had intended to be funny, you knew you were talking, trailing a long line of thoughts but then he laughed, tilting his head back and shutting his eyes in a habit you already knew.
Heeseungâs body had come undone in happiness far too many times throughout the course of your relationship for you to not have it engraved in your heart. But shafts of golden luminescence reached for him tonight, embellishing his skin with a soft glow, and when he straightened himself back to look at you, it made his eyes shine, glinting in errant spheres of gold.
Heeseung was so beautiful beneath all of this â all made in reflections of the city lights and the dim flames of the candles you had lit at some moment at the beginning of the night.
You couldnât remember making the decision to reach for him, but you must have done it because he took your hand in mid-motion, thumb caressing the inside of your wrist before he brought it up to his lips and kissed it.
âDance with me,â he said. The question had no question mark, no doubt or uneasiness. Heeseung knew you would never refuse him, but he still waited for you to nod at him before he used your connected hands to pull you up.
You didnât recognize the song coming from his phone, a fast beat that had him spinning you through the hardwood floor of your living room. His movement caught you so unprepared, it made you laugh loudly, and Heeseung took it as the cue to swirl you again and again, the shirt you had stolen from him moving dangerously around your thighs until he decided to bring you back to him and pull you against his chest.
âArenât we being too loud?â you asked.
âIf your neighbors file a complaint again, maybe you will take a hint this time and move into mine.â
âYou want me there so badly, donât you?â
âYou have no idea love,â he whispered, spreading his hands at the small of your back, and bringing you closer to him. His palms were warm through the thin material of your â his shirt and your heart knocked inside of your chest, so loud you were sure he could feel it echoing through the space between you.
Heeseungâs touches were no novelty to you. He had explored your body far more than anyone would or could â God, he had touched you just a few hours previously, but still there was something about being beneath his attention that would always make you a bit overwhelmed.
The song that came on next was quieter, not lazier, or languid but he leaned in as if you were to slow dance, his cheek resting against the side of your head and allowing you to breathe him in. Heeseung smelled like the woody scent of his perfume, dry imbues, and blackberry leaves â he smelled like the wine he had brought for your picnic and home.
If your heart wasnât aching already, it did then and there.
âI like this song,â he said. At first, you thought it had been a statement to nobody, but he placed his lips against your ear, and the lyrics threaded through your hair as if the only thing he ever wanted was for you to know it.
âI see my future when I look into your eyes.â
It was nothing extravagant. His voice came a bit low and timid, but it only made your heart ache a little bit more.
âIt took your love to make my heart come alive,â Heeseung sang. âCauseâ I lived my life believing all love is blind.â
âBut everything about you is telling me this time itâs forever, this time I know, and thereâs no doubt in my mind.â
Your hands left the safety of his shoulders to slip up, fingers curling on the hair at his nape, bringing him impossibly closer. Heeseung gasped at your actions, the soft rustle of his breath hitching against your ear as he failed to sing the next lyrics, but he didnât need to â you already knew them.
You always knew them.
Forever, until my life is through. Iâll be loving you forever.
The song kept going, but Heeseung stopped, drawing back just enough to look at you, his eyes lingering and simply unable to conceal the pure and unfiltered adoration he had for you.
Heeseung wasnât the type of boyfriend to buy you expensive bouquets or take you to fancy restaurants.
No. Heeseung was the type of boyfriend to pick flowers on the sidewalk for you, kneeling on the dirty pavement to pick tiny blossoms and put them in your hair. He ordered food past midnight, and laid blankets on the hardwood floor of your living room to make picnics on it. The lyrics of a love song and your laughter being the only furor in the middle of the sleeping city. And then, when the bowls were empty and the wine sank in, he was the type of boyfriend to ask you to dance with him, barefoot and clumsy, and you would barter it for nothing.
After all, this was how you found forever.

description: jungwon x reader (very soft physical affection, jungwon's relationship with reader is up for interpretation)
i wrote this for the people who have had a troubled past and the idea of jungwon being your safe haven makes you want to *sob*
his presence was like a fresh load of laundry on a warm spring day. his smile, his laugh, jungwon coming into your life saved you from yourself.Â
with his hoodie over his head and his favorite plaid pajama pants on, there really wasnât a sight comparable to this one.
it was strange to be so engulfed by a spirit so light and bright but it was more comfortable than it is foreign.
he places his hand softly on yours and tugs you gently towards himself, âcome hereâ he touches you in the way you need it and pours his love into each in every movement. you feel his affection through the pads of his finger tips and the soft grip of his hand. jungwon is your safe place, being someone so frightened by physicality, he makes it feel natural.
his hands roam all over your arms and shoulders, looking you up and down to make sure youâre okay like he always does. he pulls you into a hug and you feel yourself melt into him all over again. heâs warm and his body is firm but his aura is so soft and gentle it feels healing in a way. he lowers himself against the couch so that you can lay on his chest just like that, with his arms still wrapped around your lower back.Â
you can hear his heart beating, and feel his chest moving up and down with every breath, and you are reminded all over again that you are in the right place. he traces circles through your clothes and it sends shivers up your spine. it feels so good to be here, it feels so good to be on jungwon.Â
you take a peek up at him, with the tv screen flashing colors on his face in the dark room, heâs beautiful as ever. heâs handsome with his hair undone and a lazy outfit on, heâs jungwon and jungwon to the core.Â
closing your eyes, you lower your head on his chest again, rubbing against it a bit with the side of your face.Â
he notices you getting comfortable and takes it as a sign that youâre ready to fall asleep. he smiles softly, gazing at your presence and holding you just a bit tighter than he was before.Â
after a few minutes of soaking in all your facial features with his eyes, he brings his head down to kiss your forehead gently, before going back to watch the tv.Â
youâve never slept better.Â
damn, I'm so lonely...

heeseung
would be so comfortable to cuddle; youâd be laying your head on his shoulder, an arm of yours lazily wrapped around his torso. heâd softly hum the melodies of familiar songs, absentmindedly drawing circles and patterns on your bare arm; âgoodnight, loveâ, heâd whisper, holding you close to his body.
jongseong
would notice your gradual sleepiness, pointing out how itâs the third time youâve slurred on your words, yawning mid-sentence; wordlessly cards his fingers through your hair, lulling you to sleep; would try to turn the lamp on the nightstand off as carefully as possible, not wanting to rouse you from your slumber. ânight, babeâ, heâd mumble, wrapping his arms around your waist.
jaeyun
would have a pretty delayed reaction to your tiredness; mid-way through his little ramble, he wouldâve felt the weight of your head against his shoulder, eyes blinking down to gaze at your serene expression; plants a firm kiss to your forehead, softly giggling when you lightly stir in your sleep, scrunching your nose a little as you shift in your spot; âyouâre so cuteâ, heâd mumble under his breath, breaking into a small smile at the sight.
sunghoon
would be the best cuddle buddy ever; engulfs you in a soft hug, pressing little kisses on your neck, or chin, from time to time, breath lightly fanning against your skin; gently plays with your hair, caressing the soft strands; âgetting sleepy, arenât we?â heâd ask, biting back a little chuckle at the way you snooze against his chest.
seonwoo
would absentmindedly play with your fingers, his own lightly stroking against the back of your palm; would speak in such a soft, tranquil manner, voice barely above a whisper; âbaby, you can barely keep your eyes open...â, heâd point out, giggling a little when you lightly shake your head in stubborn resistance, yawning ever so quietly.
jungwon
would melt the moment he catches sight of you all bundled up in his blanketsâ when youâre curled up under the covers, eyes peeking out from the edges of the fluffy duvet, he canât quite hold back a small, adoration-laced laugh; âyouâre adorableâ, heâd mumble, tugging you closer to his chest, his head buried in the crook of your neck.
riki
would cling onto you like a koala, limbs sprawled out over your own, his head resting against your shoulder; absentmindedly plays with your hair, lightly twirling the strands around his finger; âthis is like the fifth time youâve yawned in two minutesâ, heâd say, a low giggle falling from his lips; would sneak photos of you, finding the way youâve dozed peacefully in his arms, bundled up in heaps of blankets, adorable.

lee heeseung x reader , established relationship , long distance
you had hair all over your face as your pillows laid atop your head, somewhat shielding you from the brightness of your phone screen that cast shadows on your face. the comforter tightly hugging your figure while remaining breezy.
you usually get up and head to the bathroom to freshen up before your video calls with him, but tonight, you had no energy to do so. it was 4 AM, after all, and you felt like passing out soon anyway.
the device in your hand vibrates and rings, and your thumb hovers over the screen, sliding it to answer.
heeseung's voice comes through. "hey, (name)âoh, were you asleep?"
you shake your head no, but he only looked at you in confusion, resulting in you groggily holding up a thumbs-down to the camera. he responds with a hearty chuckle and a little bit of baby talk, telling you to get some sleep afterwards.
as you adjust the position of the pillow your cheek lies on, you laugh, love filling your heart. "okay, i will," you say. "show it to me then."
the "it" in question are a pair of brand new shoes that he had gotten earlier from a shopping trip with jay.
heeseung ends up rambling. ends up showing you his favorite details and explaining how he was initially at the mall to buy something else (definitely not video games) but ended up buying a pair of shoes after seeing them on a mannequin.
you're trying your best not to sleep, really. you wished you were in the same place right now. wished you were on his bed as he excitedly shows you everything personally. because even though you were six hours apart, it felt like light years to you.
"that's great, baby." you manage. but your eyes fail you, becoming heavier and heavier as your eyelids droop. you hum as if to let him know that you're still awake and listening.
he seems to notice. on your screen, heeseung's eyes dart down to the shopping bag on his desk and back to you, halting his rambles as he watches sleep take over you. he lets out a chuckle. he wishes he was there with you. he really does.Â
but for now, he smiles at his phone screen and whispers, "goodnight baby," before ending the call.
he makes sure to text and call you again when you're awake.

genre. established relationship, zombie apocalypse au, ANGST, fluff then and there, high sch!au (theyâre seniors), mentions of dying and being bitten
synopsis. when it comes down to it, will lee heeseung protect you like he had promised in the beginning of your relationship?
authorâs note. This one is a long one and I lwk felt my heart being ripped apart as I finished the ending đ the scene where he sings to her is based off of the scene from âBeautiful Boyâ where Nickâs father sings to him. I kind of envisioned Y/n and Heeseung as Cheongsan and On-jo so do whatever you want with this information!
Lee Heeseung was the perfect boyfriend. He was athletic, tall, and most importantly of all, loving. He wasnât afraid to show you how much he cared about your relationship.
Being the captain of the hockey team came with a lot of perks. For one, no one was able to yell at him for always giving oogly eyes at you during practice, and no one dared say a word when Heeseung would stop in the middle of his laps to talk to you.
âItâs pretty cold, isnât it?â Ha Kyungmi, the girlfriend of your cousin and Heeseungâs friend, Sunghoon, perched herself right next to you in the stands.
âHeeseung gave me his jersey.â
Kyungmi smirks, letting her hands feel the material of the jersey you have on. âYou lucky bitch!â She says, making you giggle. âHeeseungâs never lent someone his jersey before, thatâs how you know heâs serious.â
âThatâs good to know,â your eyes look back into the ice, seeing your boyfriend and Sunghoon competing to see who was the fastest.
âYou hear that breakout thatâs been happening in Busan?â Kyungmi digs in her sweater pockets, pulling out her phone. âItâs reaching Seoul. My mom told me about it yesterday.â
You read over the article that Kyungmi shows you on her phone, something about a deadly outbreak thatâs been contaminating the people of Korea. It had started in Busan, and it was making its way to Seoul now.
âHey!â The voice of your boyfriend makes you snap out of your daze. Heeseung makes his way towards you along with Sunghoon, pulling off their skates as they tossed it against the wall.
âYou look pretty,â Heeseung leans in to give your cheek a sloppy kiss, one that has Sunghoon pretending to gag at. âWhat are you gagging at Hoon? As if thatâs not you and your girlfriend all the time.â
Sunghoon raises his hand in mock surrender, interlocking his hand with Kyungmi. âItâs weird seeing you kiss my cousin dude!â He says. âWeâre gonna go to the cafeteria if you guys want to meet us there later.â
You glance at your phone, realizing there was only 15 minutes of lunch left.
âSure, weâll meet you there man.â Heeseung gives Sunghoon a pat on the back before intertwining his hand with yours, pulling you closer to him despite already being in close proximity.â
âWere you cold?â He asks, concerned bambi eyes making you bite your lip.
âNo I wasnât Seungie.â You lean your head on his shoulder, his thumb rubbing your fingers as the two of you stayed in silence for a bit. âWe should probably meet with Sunghoon and Kyungmi before lunch ends.â
âYeah.â The two of you stand up, making your way out of the ice rink. Thankfully for your growling stomach, your schoolâs cafeteria was only a few meters away.
âThere they are!â Kyungmi waves the two of you over, âI told you buying 2 extra sandwiches was a good idea!â
âOkay okay, sorry baby.â Sunghoon says. âTook you guys forever.â
âIt was 5 minutes Hoon,â Heeseung rolls his eyes, thanking Kyungmi as she passed you two your sandwiches. âI really donât want to go to Ms. Jungâs class. Sheâll be the death of me.â
Suddenly, thereâs a scream, one that is so horrid that it makes your boyfriend drop the glass cup of orange juice he was holding.
âWhatâs happening?!â Heeseung says, standing up immediately. He wraps his arm around your waist, eyes widening when he sees students panicking all around.
âQuick, Mr. Jeonâs class is nearby!â Sunghoon pulls the three of you towards a classroom. Inside was about 10 other students, whom of which looked like they were on high alert.
âYah,â one of the guys said, suddenly standing up. You recognize him as Yoo Hanbin, one of your classmates from biology during your tenth year. âAre you guys bitten? Show us your neck and arms.â
âBitten?â Heeseung scoffs, pulling you closer to him.
âThey donât know whatâs happening Hanbin.â One of his friends says calmly. âTheyâre probably just scared like us. Close the door, hurry.â
Hanbin snarls, but he obliges. He ushers the four of you in, closing the door in a rush. He then places the teacherâs large wooden desk against it with the help of the other students.
âWhatâs going on?â Kyungmi asks, flinching when a sudden bang comes from the door.
âQuick! Move more desks!â Despite not knowing what the hell was happening, you helped Hanbin and the others place all the desks against Mr. Jeonâs room.
âThereâs an apocalypse,â Hanbinâs friend answers after you all catch your breath. âHaruto.â He introduces himself after.
âApocalypse?â Heeseungâs grip on your hand is suddenly tighter. âWhat? You mean like a zombie apocalypse Haruto?â
âI didnât believe it either,â Hanbin slides his body down against the wall tiredly, lifting up his sleeves to show you his arm. âAt first.â
It was bloody and looked like it hurt badly.
âI was in the piano room when it happened. Seolheeâs cries were all I could hear before I heard them. Their growls.â Hanbin shakes his head, looking down at the ground. âI tried saving herâbut I couldnât. One of them tried to bite me before I slashed them across the face with the piano chair. I ran so fast that I fell on the way to Mr. Jeonâs room, thatâs where the cut came from.â
You canât help but send the poor boy a look of pity, feeling overwhelmed by the sudden information.
âIs this about the outbreak?â Kyungmi suddenly speaks up. âThe one we read about, remember Y/N? Is it the one from Busan causing all of this?â
Haruto solemnly nods, and thatâs enough for you to let out a small cry.
Heeseung wraps his arms around you, letting you bury your head into his chest. âSh, itâs alright.â
But it wasnât.
You and Heeseung huddle up together against one of the corners of the room alongside Kyungmi and Sunghoon, trying to generate as much heat as possible.
With the whole city in ruins by now, you knew electricity would be gone soon, you just hoped it would be gone in the morning instead of night.
âWeâre almost out of water.â Haruto says, getting up suddenly. One of the girls, who you recognize as Ryujin gets up with him.
If you werenât stuck in a zombie apocalypse, you wouldâve gushed over how much they complimented one another. Ryujin was the star tennis player who looked like she hated everybody, but the way she looks at Haruto showed that she more than tolerated him.
âYou seriously arenât thinking..?â Ryujin pulls Haruto back by his arm. âYou canât go by yourself to get water!â
âIâll go with him.â
For all the years youâve known Sunghoon, heâs never been as brave as he was now. You could tell Kyungmi was scared out of her mind, grabbing onto his hand as her lips quivered.
âItâs too dangerous! Weâll live without water for now!â
âDonât be ridiculous baby,â Sunghoon gives her a comforting glance. âMe and Haruto will go, weâll come back soon.â
âIf heâs going, Iâm going too.â The emotions Ha Kyungmi felt earlier now transferred to you. You shake your head, not letting Lee Heeseungâs hand fall from yours. âY/N, please. Sunghoonâs my best friend, I have to.â
But Iâm your girlfriend, you wanted to say.
As much as it hurt you, you knew you had to let Heeseung go. The risks were high, but you knew the rest of your classmates were thirsty to death and needed water as soon as possible. You couldnât be selfish and beg your boyfriend to stay in front of all of them.
âBe safe.â You say, standing up to cup Heeseungâs face. âPlease. Protect yourself first.â
He nods, wiping away the tears that escaped your eyes.
âPromise me, Heeseung.â You whisper.
âI promise.â
You let go of Heeseung reluctantly, watching as him, Sunghoon, and Haruto all slowly push aside the desks, opening the door as slowly as possible.
The growls were less prominent than they were a few hours earlier. You didnât even want to look through the window to see how many zombies were downstairs at your schoolâs entrance.
As soon as theyâre gone, a boy comes and sits himself right next to Kyungmi and you, giving a small smile.
âYou okay Kyung?â
You find it weird how close heâs being with Kyungmi, and even weirder that he waited till Sunghoon had left.
âIâm fine Eunwoo,â Kyungmi replies, slouching against the wall. âAre you okay?â
You turn your head back around, not wanting to eavesdrop on your friend. You prayed and prayed that Heeseung would be kept safe when he was going to get water. You knew where the boys were goingâMrs Ahnâs room. She was the only teacher who kept giant packs of water bottles in her class for students who were thirsty. You hoped Mrs. Ahn was still alive.
âTheyâre going to Mrs. Ahn, arenât they?â Ryujin asks, sitting herself next to you.
âThey are.â You turn to make eye contact with her, surprised to see a purple bruise near her eye. âWhat happened to you?â
âZombies.â She grins, although she knows itâs no time for jokes. âI only made a fuss earlier because Haruto was the one who saved me. Despite being quiet, he really knows how to fight off zombies.â
âHey,â you get closer to her, almost whispering now. âWhat do you know about Eunwoo over there?â
Ryujin raises her eyebrows, placing her sight on Eunwoo who was talking to Kyungmi up close. âHas had a crush on Ha Kyungmi for over a year now. I see them sometimes.â
Your eyebrows furrow, not expecting such a response. Before you could say anything back, Heeseung and Haruto quickly rush into the room, slamming the desks back onto the door.
âSeungie?â You and Ryujin rush over to help them. They had 2 packs of waters in their hands, letting it drop on the ground along with their knees as they tried to catch their breath.
âIâIââ Heeseung seems choked up, his eyes teary and red. âI tried to help himâI really did.â
Your jaw practically drops knowing full well what Heeseung was implying. Park Sunghoon was nowhere to be found, not behind him, not behind Haruto.
âThey came so quickly, we panicked and we just ran and Iââ Haruto is unable to finish his sentence when you let out a scream, your body scumming to the floor.
âMy cousinâs dead?â You sob out, clutching onto Heeseungâs bloody blazer when he comes down to hug you.
âI canât believe it,â Kyungmiâs mouth goes dry and she turns over to hug Eunwoo, who rubs her back comfortingly.
Youâre too distraught to even question why she was in another guyâs arms right after your cousin, her own boyfriend, just died.
âIâm sorry,â Heeseung repeats over and over again, letting you cry into his shoulder.
âItâs not your fault,â you sniffle. âTell me he died a quick death. Tell me it wasnât painful for him Hee.â
âHe fell out the window,â Heeseung says, a few tears escape his eyes. âThey backed us up into a wall and Sunghoon fell out an open window. We heard a loud slam and when we looked, he was already dead.â
You sob even louder, making Heeseungâs hold on you tighten.
When you finally catch your breath and pull away, you notice how Heeseung has scratches all over his face.
âOh Seung,â you say, tracing your fingers over them. âIt must really hurt.â
âIt feels fine when Iâm with you.â
The both of you lean against the cushion thatâs propped against the bookshelf in Mr. Jeonâs room, your head laying against Heeseungâs shoulder as you both hold each otherâs hands tightly. You felt like Heeseung would disappear if your grip loosened.
âYour lip,â Heeseung suddenly says, letting his index finger touch your lips, which were chapped and bleeding.
âItâs fine,â you brush him off, but he shakes his head, reaching into his pocket for something.
âHere, I have your chapstick.â He pulls out your strawberry flavored chapstick, the one that you always bought before the apocalypse had happened.
âWhereâd you get this?â You breathe out.
âI always keep a spare one in my pockets because I know you,â Heeseung smiles down at his lap. âI knew it would come in handy.â
Your eyes softened at his words, one hand coming to hold his chin as you lean in to give him a long kiss.
âThank you Seungie,â you say as you pulled away. âFor everything.â
ďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďšďš
You suddenly jolt up from your sleep, face covered in cold sweat.
âHey, hey, everythingâs okay.â Heeseung whispers to you.
You take in your surroundings, making out Hanbin and Harutoâs figures guarding the doors and the rest of the students in the class asleep.
You had your head on Heeseungâs lap, your body sprawled along the cold tiled floor of Mr. Jeonâs class.
âHow long have I been out?â You ask groggily, trying to squint at the dark clock on the wall.
âJust two hours.â Heeseung sighs. âThe growling stopped for a bit. Itâs eleven now. You should sleep more.â
You shake your head, disagreeing. âNo Seung, you should sleep. I could watch over for a bit with Hanbin and Haruto.â
Heeseung bites his lip, almost as if he was really debating whether or not he should be sleeping right now.
âSeung, please. You need your energy.â
Heeseung agrees hesitantly, letting you switch places so now his head was on your lap.
âGoodnight Hee.â You say, placing a tender kiss on his forehead.
He smiles back at you, closing his eyes as he let sleep consume him.
Your eyes search around the room, focusing on Kyungmi and Eunwoo sleeping on one another.
Before you were too distraught to care about them two, but now that everything was calm, you really took in the situation.
Ryujinâs words rang in your ear like a mantra. Eunwoo liked Kyungmi for over a year now.
Does that mean.. ?
No, it couldnât. You knew Ha Kyungmi. She was a sweet girl to you for the most part, she wouldnât do that to your cousin.
Would she?
âTheyâre here.â You hear Hanbin whispering. His voice was filled with dread and fear, and your worst suspicions were true.
The zombies had reached your classroom.
âEVERYBODY! UP!â Haruto yells, clumsily turning on the small light that was still working in the room. âWE HAVE TO MOVE! QUICK!â
Heeseung wakes up with a grunt, his arms automatically reaching for your waist as if it was a natural reflex.
âTheyâre here?â He asks, squinting a bit at the bright light.
âYes, letâs wake the others.â
You two start tapping your classmates awake.
âThereâs a window we can climb out of.â Hanbin points at the window that was half covered by the cushion you and Heeseung had laid on earlier. âItâs not a big drop so weâll survive it. Itâs our only escape.â
Your classmates all start talking at once, some unsure of Hanbinâs plan.
âWe donât have much time!â Ryujin exclaims. âQuick! Climb out!â
A few of your classmates help each other get out of the window carefully, cheering silently when it works successfully.
âI donât know how much longer Iâll be able to hold them off.â Haruto says, the desks being pushed out by the bangs of the zombies on the door.
âKyungmi! Letâs go!â Eunwoo grabs the girlâs hand, pulling her towards the window.
âEunwooâbutâY/N?!â She turns to face you, who was currently helping the boys hold the door against the zombies. âY/N!â
âJust go Kyungmi!â You yell, watching as Eunwoo helps her get out first.
âWeâre going to have to let go and make a swift run for it,â Hanbin says to the three of you. âA broken arm or leg will be better than dying at the hands of these creatures.â
Haruto closes his eyes, nodding slowly at his friendâs words. âOn a count of three.â
âOne.â
âTwo.â
âThree!â
The four of you let go, the zombies automatically piling into the room as soon as you do.
Haruto and Hanbin are quick, climbing out and jumping onto the ground in a swift second.
âCmon Heeseung! Y/N!â
Heeseung climbs out first, foot barely making it out the window before one of the zombies have got you.
âY/N!â He screams, hands gripping onto the window as he tries to reach for you.
âHeeseung! Itâs not worth it!â Kyungmi shouts, âtheyâve already got her, sheâs gonna die anyway, itâs not worth it.â
Heeseungâs vision goes red at this. âI donât fucking care Kyungmi! Unlike you, I actually love my girlfriend to death and would do anything for her!â
His words have her cowering in embarrassment, Eunwoo wrapping a protective arm around her.
âYah you fucker!â Eunwoo yells. âYou want to be with your girlfriend so badly? Then die!â
He and Kyungmi run off to find shelter, the only two who were left were Hanbin and Haruto.
They were silently begging Heeseung to drop it with their eyes, telling them that it wasnât worth it.
âCmon Heeseung man,â Haruto says croakily. âYouâll die.â
âThen Iâll die with her.â Heeseung whispers. He watches as one of the zombies bite you, making you scream out in pain.
The zombies all make their way to another classroom when they realize youâre the only one, and since youâve already been bitten, you were no longer desirable to them.
Despite knowing he would most likely die if he did it, Heeseung climbs back into the room, pulling you into his arms as he did many times before.
âHey, hey.â He chokes up as he pulls you closer. âIâm so sorry.â
âItâsâokay.â You reassure him, eyes slowly turning red as your twitching hands come up to touch his jaw. âWill you sing to me Heeseung?â
You had always joked before that Heeseung would become a famous singer in the future, his beautiful voice entrancing you whenever heâd sing or hum a song.
âOf course.â He gulps, eyes becoming blurry from the tears as each second pasts.
âThe monsterâs gone, heâs on the run, and your boyfriendâs here.â Heeseungâs lips tremble, unable to hold in his emotions any longer. âBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful girl.â
He holds you in his arms despite your twitching body, knowing any second you would turn into one of them. He watches as the light from your eyes disappear, and your skin turns green and veiny.
Lee Heeseung doesnât cry a lot. He believed that crying wasnât going to fix anything.
But as he watched the Y/N he loved disappear from his arms despite being physically there, he sobs and sobs. Despite knowing it wonât do anything, he pulls your body onto his, hands on the back of your head as he begs the world to silently bring you back.

when minho falls in love - l.m.h x reader
summary: when minho falls in love with you, he realizes he will continue falling for eternity
pairing: minho x gn!reader
genre: fluff
wc: >1000
was this loosely based on when emma falls in love? who knows (yes it was). ily enjoy this little drabble <3
Minho realizes he's in love with you after you call him in the middle of the night. It's way past his bedtime â the one he has set for himself. Minho sleeps at 11 pm every day, with no days off. He's a morning person and, to him, nights were made for doubting himself.
But he's wide awake when he picks up the phone and hears your voice.
You begin to ramble about something he can't quite understand, but assume that it must be about this online order you placed a few days ago and never heard back from the seller. He can hear you pacing around the room, your footsteps hitting the wooden floor and the rain pouring and tickling your window. You change the topic and ask about his day, "It was good, let's go back to that issue."
"No, the seller has just shipped it," and he can't help but snicker. He tells you about his day and pays attention to the ruffle on your bed, your incessant tossing and turning to find the perfect spot and the faint click to turn off your night lamp, and Minho can't help but wonder what it feels like to fall asleep in the same bed as you right now. "Let's grab a coffee tomorrow? Since you kept me awake past my bedtime."
He hears your muffled confirmation, a sleepy "are you twelve?" and can almost picture you falling asleep on top of your phone when he whispers his goodbye.
Minho can't sleep now. He's wide awake and has to stare at the raindrops on his window until it dries out and he stops thinking about what it would be like to look at them if he was sleeping next to you. When he finally dozes off, one of his cats jumps on top of him and he can't help but dream about what you would look like being awakened by the same cat at that moment.
You meet him at the cafĂŠ. Minho solidifies the idea of being in love with you right then, right now. "I can't believe you kept me up just to blabber about an order that had already been shipped."
"I have to train you to keep up with my sleeping habits."
"You have no sleeping habits," he looks at you in the same way a beekeeper looks at their bees, "sleeping for three days and then not sleeping at all is not a sleeping habit."
"Then you should keep up with me,â and he swears you look at him with the same fascination as you look at seashells before stuffing your pockets with them, "it's lonely without you."
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder," Minho laughs and takes a sip of your latte, immediately fake gagging, "actually, I should keep up with you. Teach you how to have some taste."
You take your drink from his hands, lightly kicking his shin. Minho always laughs at your antics, and he always looks deep into your eyes to try and find the moment in your life when you started developing said antics. He tries to figure out when you started touching your cheeks when you laugh, why you started ducking when pigeons come near you and how you keep up with the amount of sugar you eat since he first met you.
When Minho sees you, he wants to figure out what makes you, you. He wishes to be one with you to uncover every part of your heart and mind before you call him out again for staring and not even blinking.
"Why are you glancing at me like this?"
"Go out with me." he says before he has the chance to think about his words, "or don't."
"I will," he sees your smile and foresees your next words, "or will I?"
This night, when you call him again, Minho realizes again he's in love with you. He had been realizing the same thing every day for the past few months, ever since you two started dating. When Minho fell in love with you, he knew that there was no escaping from this, there were no locks on his doors when it came to you and not one thing he could look at without thinking of you.
When Minho fell in love with you, he knew he was in it for eternity. So, when Minho calls you in the middle of the night a year or two later, he's not surprised to hear the word "husband" coming from your lips referring to him, and he's not surprised either when he feels like he has just realized that he's falling in love with you for the nth time in that day.
"Let's take things slow. Let me treat you well." AUEGJSHSKCSWHLSHELAUSLSYSLXGKDGWBSHWHSKWUOSYDKZGWJWUKSYQL
Pairing: non-idol!jay x fem!reader (fluff)
Summary: In a world where Soulmates exist, you never truly cared about the phenomenon. It would happen, and you would have no control over it. But when you visit your aunt in the winter, you realize that having a Soulmate isnât so bad. Not when heâs so perfect for you.
Warnings: mentions of alcohol, kissing, some swearing, suggestive, fluff, the smallest amount of angst if you squint (wc: 9.2k)
The cold February air hugs you tight, kissing your cheeks softly as it paints your face cold. If you had known that it would be this chilly, you would have dressed warmer.Â
But you didnât know, because no one told you.Â
It was a surprise trip your parents had planned, wanting to take a break from your mundane, ordinary lives. So they packed up the car and drove two hours south, stopping only when they reached your auntâs driveway.Â
Now, you were waiting on the sidewalk for your cousin. She had run in to grab her purse. Unconsciously, you rubbed the small J on your right wrist. Although you didnât necessarily care for your Soulmate as much as everyone else did, you still found it slightly comforting.
Knowing he was out there.Â
âSorry!â Your cousin tumbled out of the front door, heaving. âSorry. Your mom kept handing me money and my mom kept telling me not to take it.â She looked up at you, flushed and smiling.Â
You grinned, knowing exactly what she was talking about. Both your mothers, being sisters, often did things like this. It was funny to everyone else, but serious for them. You usually waited them out, knowing there was no point until they gave up.Â
You waved your hand in dismissal, instantly dropping it. âLetâs go?â Your cousin had pitched the idea of going to the famous, local music restaurant and you jumped at the idea. You really couldnât stand another family game night.Â
You strolled down the road side by side as she caught you up on everything. You really did miss her. Being the same age, she always understood you. She knew of your impassiveness and you knew of her obsession.Â
âGuess who found their Soulmate,â she asked you, her eyes wide. You laughed before you bit your lip in thought. You knew most of her friends, having grown up alongside her before your family moved.Â
You shrugged, opting for her to just tell you. âNo idea. Who is it?âÂ
She clapped her hands. âHeeseung!â At your raised eyebrows, she laughed. âI know, right? He went out with his parents last week and she was the hostess there. Theyâre actually really cute.âÂ
You nodded in surprise, a warm surge of something in your chest. It always happened when you heard of others finding their Soulmate. âThatâs amazing. Iâm happy for them. He was looking, right?â
She nodded. âYeah. He kinda gave up but I guess fate had other plans.â She eyed you before glancing at your wrist, the one you were still rubbing.Â
âWhat about you?â She tried to keep the intrigue out of her voice but you could see it in her eyes. She really wanted you to find your Soulmate, but you werenât necessarily eager. She had found her Soulmate as soon as she turned eighteen, having been friends with him for years.Â
You shrugged before dropping your wrist. âYou know me. Iâm not looking. If he finds me then I guess thatâs it.â
She frowned, pursing her lips. âY/n, you donât have to sound so⌠defeated about it. Itâs a good thing. Itâs a beautiful thing.â She rubbed her wrist, the red S glowing. Before, she used to be very adamant about finding your Soulmate. But when you explained to her that not everyone grows up with their Soulmate, she understood. She was extremely lucky.Â
You rolled your eyes, having heard this conversation many times before. âI know. Itâs just⌠it makes me uncomfortable, you know? Iâm just supposed to trust that this man is perfect for me?â
Your cousin nodded in understanding, because she did understand. You had always been the one who asked questions and wanted to remain independent. A lot of people were like you. It was hard to comprehend that the universe created two people perfect for each other.Â
âJust,â she sighed as you neared the restaurant, âdonât push it away, okay? Donât run from it. From what Iâve seen and gone through, itâs a really beautiful process. Itâs like breathing for the first time.â
You nodded, opening the door for her. âIâm not against it. Iâm just not super for it either. Iâm just⌠indifferent. Yeah,â you smiled. âIndifferent.âÂ
She laughed before fixing her coat. She had texted her friends to meet at the restaurant and you were excited. You liked all her friends and some of them were really good singers and attractive. It had been a while since you had seen them, years for some, and you knew you would have a good time with them. You always did.Â
Walking into the restaurant, you inhaled the sweet scent of wood and whiskey. Your eyes wandered, taking in the cabin-like furniture of the establishment before glancing at the bar, then at the stage. A band played their music while people sat and listened, some singing along and some just enjoying the atmosphere. This was your first time here since you became an adult, and you now understood why everyone loved it. It was just up your alley, dark and comfortable.Â
Your cousin grabbed your hand and pulled you towards her friends, smiling and waving at them. You laughed at her excitement. She was more excited for you to see them than she was. She immediately made her way to Sunghoon, kissing him passionately. The day they had both turned eighteen changed everything. The only reason you had high expectations was because of them.Â
They were truly perfect for each other.Â
All her friends waved and greeted you both loudly, smiling. âYou guys made it!â You smiled at Heeseung, having known him for years. He smiled at you before side-hugging you. He looked good. His eyes shined brighter and he had a permanent smile etched onto his lips. He patted your back before bear hugging your cousin.Â
You greeted everyone else, hugging those you were close with and smiling at those you werenât. Some faces you recognized; Jake and Jungwon. They greeted you warmly, glad you had come tonight.Â
There was a man you didnât recognize and you smiled at him as he introduced himself. âIâm Sunoo. Itâs nice to meet you! Iâve heard a lot about you.âÂ
You laughed, finding him adorable. He had bright eyes and his black hair fell to his eyes. âOnly good things, I hope.â
Sunghoon threw his arm around Sunoo and grinned at you, his fangs making an appearance. âNow, Y/n, you know thatâs impossible.â
You grinned before slapping his shoulder. âIâm not completely terrible.âÂ
âYeah,â he smiled. âSay that to the hole in my wall.â
At his words, your eyes widened and your mouth dropped to the floor. Sunoo laughed in disbelief, slapping Sunghooâs chest. âSheâs the one who put the hole in your wall?âÂ
Sunghoon nodded, not looking displeased about it at all. In fact, he looked elated.Â
You grimaced. âI canât believe you havenât gotten that fixed yet. Itâs been years.â
âItâs been one.â
You threw your hands up in shame, a sheepish smile on your face. âOkay, true. Iâm sorry, okay? I didnât know your walls were so weak.âÂ
Sunoo stared at you both, back and forth before shaking his head. âIâm sorry, what happened?â
You dropped your head when Heeseung threw his arm around you, grinning. âAre we talking about Y/nâs famous misadventures?âÂ
You shook your head as Sunoo and Sunghoon nodded. You hid your face in your hands as Heeseung and Sunghoon told Sunoo the story of you trying to do a handstand in his basement when you fell over, your foot crashing into the wall, making a hole in the center of the wall.Â
You sighed and dropped your head back as the three laughed, a slow smile creeping onto your face at the sound. It was nice, being surrounded by jazz music and the laughter of your friends.
At the sound of laughter, your cousin, Jake, and Jungwon make their way over to you. You smiled at them as the other three lost their mind, howling over other mishaps you kept finding yourself in. You truly had a knack of getting into weird situations when you were in this town.Â
âIâll fix that hole in your wall for you,â you said. Sunghoon raised an eyebrow at you as his laughter turned into heavy breathing. âIâm serious. I know how.â
Your cousin nodded, resting her hand on your shoulder. She was so happy you were here with her, with her friends. With your friends. âSheâs really good,â she agreed. âY/n fixes up both our houses.â She narrows her eyes at Sunghoon and he crumbles.
Sunghoon crosses his arms. âAlright. How much?â
You shook your head. âNever bring up that story again?â
Jake laughed. âBut itâs such a good story. One of our favourites, actually.â
Before you could answer, Jungwon smiled. âIâm sure weâll have more stories to tell about Y/n before this week is over.â
At your deadpan look, Jungwon and Jake laughed before you all found your seats at the table. âIâm never coming back here. Thereâs a reason we moved and itâs because of all of you.â At your pout, Sunghoon pats your head. You allowed it only because of your cousin and the way she smiled up at him, all foolish and in love.Â
âAlright, Y/n. If you fix the hole in my wall, Iâll never bring up the story again.â You both stared at each other before shaking on it.Â
âBy the way,â Heeseung said. âThis deal only applies to Sunghoon.â
You smiled at Heeseung. âDie.â
He laughed before checking his phone. A stupid smile took over and you had a feeling that his Soulmate had texted him. You glanced at his wrist and stared at the red letter. Thatâs what happened when you found your soulmate and touched them for the first time. The black letter turned red and remained red.Â
âWhereâs Jay and Riki?â Your cousin asked Heeseung, passing a glass of water to you. You didnât know who Jay or Riki were, but you assumed they would make an appearance before the end of the night.Â
âRikiâs at practice and asked Jay to stay with him. Theyâll be here soon.â
Your cousin nodded before leaning into you. âWhat do you wanna eat? I was thinking of onion rings.â You scanned the menu. âHm. What about calamari?â Your cousin nodded, knowing you both were going to share, regardless.Â
After the orders of food and drinks had been placed, Jake leaned back in his seat. âSo, whatâs up, Y/n? What have you been up to? Itâs been what, a few months?â
You nodded, sipping on your water as the conversations picked up around you. âYeah. Itâs been a while. Iâm good! Just finishing up school and working. Honestly, my life is pretty boring right now.âÂ
Jake and Sunoo nodded in understanding. Jake glanced at your wrist before smirking. âSo, any news on the Soulmate?â
You rolled your eyes and showed him your wrist, your black letter on clear display. âNope.â You eyed their wrists. âWhat about you guys?â
Jake and Sunoo both showed their wrists, their black letters vibrant against their fair skin. You watched as Jake lowered his wrist but Sunoo stared at his own, a twisted frown on his pink lips. He traced the letter once before dropping his wrist, staring at his water.Â
You wanted to ask but you only met him today. When it came to Soulmates, some were more sensitive than others. It was a centuries old phenomenon but it never got easier to accept. You had an inkling that Sunoo was more sensitive than others. Instead, you smiled at him when he caught your eye.Â
You tuned into the other conversation happening at the table and instantly sat straighter. Heeseung was recounting the night he met his Soulmate and you listened carefully. Although it happened all the time around you, the stories always made you melt. The ice beneath your exterior slowly breaking.Â
âAnd then I touched her hand. I just brushed her hand but my entire body was on fire. Then our marks began to burn and they turned red. After that, well, we didnât talk much.â He grinned, a twinkle in his eye. Everyone laughed and your cousin shoved his shoulder, mumbling about having decorum.Â
Only to have Sunghoon raise his eyebrow at his Soulmate, smirking. âWe didnât do much talking either, babe.â You wanted to gag just for the sake of it.Â
âDid the burning hurt?â You furrowed your eyebrows. It was always different with certain people. Sometimes it burned in a cool, tingly way and sometimes it burned the way warm water on a cold day burned. For your cousin, she said it felt like a bucket of cold water had poured over her on a hot day.Â
Heeseung shook his head, taking a sip of his beer. âNot at all. It burned the way an itch that youâve finally scratched burns. It was like relief settled in my bones.â
The other listened carefully, despite having heard all of this before. Heeseung was lucky because he was young. Your letter appeared when you turned eighteen, and many people spent all their twenties finding their Soulmates. Now, he was the third person in their friend group to have found their lover.Â
âAnd where is she?â Your cousin asked, shoving a piece of calamari in her mouth. Sunghoon smiled fondly at her, his hand resting on her thigh. They sat pressed together and you almost wondered why she wasnât sitting on his lap but chose to ignore that thought.Â
âSheâs working tonight. Begged her to take the night off but it was too late.â His eyes were saddened but then he was smiling. âIâm seeing her later tonight.âÂ
The rest of the night was spent drinking and talking, with the occasional performance by Heeseung and Jake. The night was filled with warmth; constant laughter and conversation flowed with the help of drinks and snacks. Your cheeks felt warm and your stomach was full. This was the most fun you had in a while and you were so thankful.Â
As it neared midnight, you stood from your seat, blinking the haze from your eyes. Your cousin and Sunghoon, along with Heeseung and his Soulmate, had been on the makeshift dance floor for a while. All the couples swayed to the music, carelessly in love. You had spent the better part of your evening with Jake, Jungwon, and Sunoo. They made amazing company and you couldnât stop laughing. You stumbled and Jake reached out, steadying you. You smiled at him before walking towards the dance floor.
You nudged Sunghoonâs shoulder and grinned at him when he raised an eyebrow at you. You stared at him before you slapped his forehead. Your mind was a bit fuzzy from all the music and the ambiance. âCan I have her back? We should get home.â
Sunghoon groaned into your cousinâs hair, refusing to stop swaying. Your cousin laughed before pulling away from him, kissing his cheek. âSheâs right, baby. We gotta go.âÂ
Heeseung caught your eye and waved at you, blowing you an exaggerated kiss and his Soulmate smiled at you before they went back to dancing.
Sunghoon sighed before nodding, he flicked your forehead before pulling you both back to the table. You said your goodbyes, kissing and hugging the boys. Jake ruffled your hair before making you promise to hangout with them again. Jungwon kissed your cheek and told you to let him know when you planned to fix Sunghoonâs wall. Sunoo hugged you and asked for your number. Your cousin promised to make another group chat, one with everyone. You smiled at Riki, finding the teenager adorable. You met him today but you already loved him. He grinned at you, giving you a thumbs-up.Â
Sunghoon drove you both back home, mumbling about curfews and the time. You barely listened as you sat in the back, staring out the window. It had been a good day. A really good day. Â
Parking in your driveway, you stepped out of the car, blowing Sunghoon a kiss and flipping him off. You chose to ignore the makeout session as you stepped into your auntâs home, hoping everyone was asleep.Â
They were.
After a few minutes, your cousin stumbled through the front door, frowning at the ledge she always tripped over. You both giggled before trying to quietly make your way to her bedroom.Â
You both passed out side by side, makeup only wiped off and clothes thrown aside. It will be a good week.Â
Jay slowly opened the basement door with his foot, balancing the tray carefully on his left hand as he adjusted his sweater with his right hand. He thought this was all unnecessary but Heeseung insisted, and well, he had a hard time refusing him.Â
Heeseung had chastised Jay for skipping the other night instead of showing up with Riki. The younger boy, while only allowed on one side of the restaurant, showed up despite being exhausted. Jay had no excuse besides not being in the mood. So, here he was. Holding a tray full of all their favourite finger foods because he was pathetic.Â
Sighing, he slowly walked down the stairs. He had told Sunghoon so many times to let him add carpet to the stairs but he always refused. Something about authenticity and aesthetic. Jay could hear their chatter and his small frown curled upwards. Despite his sighing, he was happy. It was cold out today but the sun shone brightly and all his friends were together.Â
As soon as Jay stepped onto the cold basement floor, he wrinkled his nose in disgust. He told Riki and Jungwon to help Sunghoon cleanup but it didnât seem like they did. The faint smell of Chinese food lingered in the air and he sighed. Heâd have to open a window.Â
Jake spotted him first and threw his head back in relief, his hand on his stomach. âThank god, man. Iâm starving.âÂ
Jay raised an eyebrow as he set the tray down on Sunghoonâs only table. âYouâre always starving, Jake.âÂ
Jake only shrugged before jumping up, walking to the tray without a care. Heeseung laughed at him and Sunoo swatted Jakeâs bottom as he passed. Sunghoon lifted his eyes from his phone before frowning at Jake. âDonât spill any crumbs.â
They all watched as Jake chomped down on a slider, crumbs falling on the floor. Sunghoon sighed in exasperation as Jungwon laughed. There were truly some habits that could not be helped. Jay sank down on the empty bean bag next to Riki and stretched his legs. He unconsciously rubbed his wrist, his finger tracing the black letter.Â
âJay,â Heeseung called. Jay lifted his head and looked at Heeseung. âYou honestly should have showed up the other night.â Jungwon and Sunoo nodded in agreement, snacking on the plates Jake made them. Heeseung thanked Jake before looking back at Jay. âYou would have loved Y/n.â
Jay had been hearing your name quite frequently the past couple of days. You were Sunghoonâs Soulmateâs cousin, someone who left town a few months before he came. He had heard your name a few times over the years, somehow always missing you. Every time you were in town, he was preoccupied. To him, you existed in the fantastical stories that Sunghoon and Jake told him.Â
He glanced at the hole in the wall next to him, grinning at the story Sunghoon loved to tell. He almost wanted to punch the wall to see how weak the drywall truly was, but he respected himself too much to go through with it.Â
âMy bad, Hyung,â Jay ran his hand through his hair. âI was honestly exhausted and would not have made good company. Letâs plan something else in a few days.âÂ
Heeseung nodded, going back to playing the game with Jake. Soft music played as everyone lounged around, basking in the quietness of the afternoon. They didnât get many moments like this. Not with everyoneâs hectic schedule.Â
âWhen is Y/n coming over to fix the wall, Hyung?â Riki asked Sunghoon, controller in his hands and crackers in his mouth. Jay slowly turned his head to Sunghoon, eyebrows raised and lips parted.Â
Sunghoon pursed his lips. âI think after six? Thatâs what she said yesterday.âÂ
âWhat?â Jay stared at Sunghoon, mouth agape. âIâve asked you for months to let me fix that hole! And youâre letting Y/n do it?âÂ
Sunghoon shrugged. âYeah. She asked.â At Jayâs unimpressed look, Sunghoon smiled. âPlus, the missus told me to.â At his confession, Jay dropped his shoulders. There was nothing to argue if Soulmates were involved.Â
Still, he frowned. He could be a bit annoyed by it. He knew he could have fixed the hole in less than thirty minutes, but Sunghoon never let him. He said it was funnier, and it was a nice reminder, but Jay simply thought he was crazy.Â
âY/n was nice,â Sunoo mused. Jay shifted his eyes from the screen to him, listening. âSheâd never met me and tried her best to engage me in conversation. Plus,â he smiled, âshe didnât even ask about my Soulmate.â
Jay raised an eyebrow at Sunooâs words, slightly impressed. Sunoo wasnât the most subtle when it came to his feelings, so he often got many questions. Jay was just glad his friend was comfortable and had a good time.Â
âYou guys should have seen her last year,â Heeseung laughed. âBefore the wall incident, she figured out a way onto my roof. It was the craziest thing I had ever seen. One second weâre all in my garage and then sheâs on the roof.âÂ
Jake and Jungwon burst into laughter, clearly remembering the incident like it happened yesterday. Sunghoon grinned at his phone as he typed away, and Sunoo smiled at what Jay could only assume was his imagination, trying to picture it.Â
Riki pouted at the television. âI wish I got to see that,â he mumbled.Â
âYeah,â Sunghoon nodded, still primarily focused on his phone. âSheâs a good one. Sheâs not super into the whole Soulmate thing, though.âÂ
Jayâs eyes widened a fraction before he bit into a cracker. He didnât know many people who werenât absolutely smitten with the idea of Soulmates. Although he knew it was inevitable, he couldnât help but feel a bit insecure about it. He didnât even know who he was, so how could the universe make someone for him? Who could truly stand him and his flaws? Who could look at him and decide they loved him anyways?Â
Jungwon nodded, munching away. âYeah, she mentioned it the other night. Itâs kind of interesting, actually.â He looked at Jay. âShe thinks like you.â
Jay rolled his eyes, snorting. âOh, so she has common sense?â He dodged the pillow Heeseung threw at him and grinned before looking back at Jungwon. âAnyone with common sense would find it a bit weird.âÂ
Immediately, the other six boys in the room shook their heads. They were used to Jayâs rambling and thoughts. In retrospect, they could understand where he was coming from. Jay had grown up relatively lonely, and so he learned to be independent and capable very early on.Â
Jokingly, Jungwon had joked about Jay and Y/n being Soulmates to Heeseung. The older boy only slapped his shoulder and shook his head. He knew neither party would appreciate the joke.
âEveryone knows youâre a romantic at heart, Jay.â Jake wiggled his eyebrows. âYou can drop the tough boy exterior. We wonât tell anyone.â
Jay laughed before throwing the pillow at Jake, hitting him right in the chest. He grinned at Jakeâs baffled expression before dropping his shoulders. âShut up.âÂ
The boys laughed. As much as they liked to tease Jay, they all loved him very much. He was a busy guy and any time they got with him was precious. Riki shifted his beanbag and laid his head in Jayâs lap. Sunghood said nothing as he picked up Jayâs empty plate and passed him a full one, knowing that Jay sometimes got too busy to eat properly.Â
The next few hours were spent leisurely; alternating between playing games and having weird, in-depth conversations about random topics. Jayâs cheeks hurt from laughing. His sweater had come off hours ago and now he laid on the floor, Jungwon draped over him as they watched Heeseung and Riki play an intense game of Twister.Â
Jay glanced at his watch and cursed, gaining the attention of Jungwon and Sunoo. âWhat is it, Hyung?â Sunoo asked, eyes on Heeseungâs trembling form. If Heeseung lost, Riki got to tell Heeseungâs Soulmate one secret. If Riki lost, he had to yell Heeseungâs name at his next game before he scored. The stakes were extremely high.
âShit,â Jay shuffled upwards, smiling apologetically at Jungwonâs irritated look. âI gotta go, guys. I promised dad Iâd help him.â He stood up, shrugging on his sweater.
Sunghoon frowned, glancing at his phone. âItâs only five forty-five. Donât you want to meet Y/n? You should stay for a bit.âÂ
Jay did want to meet you, and he wanted to see just how good you were at carpentry, but he had committed to his dad. Part of him didnât want to leave. He wanted to stay and waste time, but the softer part of him refused. He smiled at Sunghoon. âIâll be back. Iâll try and stop by as soon as Iâm done. Iâll keep you updated.â
He pocketed his phone and laughed as the other boys yelled out their goodbyes, all exaggerated and gross. Jake even grabbed his face and kissed him right on the forehead, which ended with Jay pushing him off, groaning as he wiped his cheek.Â
âSee you later, Jay!â Heeseung yelled, trying not to fall over. He lifted his head and grinned. âThanks for the snacks, by the way. Youâre such a good malewife.âÂ
Jay blinked as Jungwon and Riki shook with laughter. Heeseung often called Jay terms like that but it never made it easier to hear. Jay wanted to walk over and push both Riki and Heeseung over, making them both lose, but he just rolled his eyes and flipped them off.Â
âSee you.âÂ
Twenty minutes after Jay left, you and your cousin parked the car in Sunghoonâs driveway. You were excited as you reached in the back, grabbing all the tools you needed. You had taken an interest in carpentry after your mother had damaged her wall and didnât have the heart to tell your father. After that, you realized it was pretty easy to do.Â
Plus, it made you feel better about yourself. You didnât need a man to do these things for you. You were fully capable and it eased the tension in your shoulders. A small, miniscule part of you wondered if all the skills you had gained were simply to compensate for everything else you lacked.Â
Your cousin shut your car door as you balanced everything in your uncleâs toolbox. He didnât even ask when you declared that you needed his tools. He simply sighed and told you to go crazy.Â
Your cousin rang the doorbell and the door was instantly pulled open by Sunghoon, his entire body shaking with excitement. He pulled her into a long, passionate kiss and you just stood behind her, looking up. You cleared your throat once, then twice.
âAhem,â you coughed. This time, your cousin heard you and pulled away, laughing at the pout on Sunghoonâs lips. She kissed him once more before throwing you an apologetic smile. She simply pushed past him and waved to you to follow.
You snickered at Sunghoonâs lovestruck expression as you walked by him, pulling him out of the trance he was under. He caught up to you and bumped shoulders with you, smiling at you. He glanced at the tools in your arm and shook his head, not wanting to even ask.Â
You followed your cousin down the basement stairs and frowned at the uneven bumps and screws. When your feet landed on the cold floor, you turned back to the stairs. âYou should really get carpet on those stairs, Sunghoon. Itâs dangerous to have such uneven steps.â
The chatter behind you quietened and Sunghoon raised an eyebrow at you. You turned back to face him and found them all staring at you, curiosity swimming in their eyes. Your eyes drifted from Jake to Riki and you frowned. âWhat? Are you super sensitive about your stairs too?â
Sunghoon quietly shook his head, tilting it in thought. âNo, youâre just not the first person to tell me that.â
You sighed in relief and shrugged. âOh. Yeah, obviously.â You eyed the stairs again. âThose are some weird stairs.â You didnât pay attention to the eyes on you as you walked further into the basement, putting down all the tools by the wall. Everyone else shared a curious look before going back to doing whatever they were doing âSo who else has mentioned the stairs?â
âJay,â Jake answered, shoving a piece of fruit in his mouth. âHeâs always talking about them.â
You nodded, slowly understanding this Jay character. âAre you guys sure that Jay is real? All this talk and I have yet to meet him.â
Heeseung laughed, slapping his thigh. âOh, heâs real. Very real.âÂ
Your cousin raised an eyebrow at Sunghoon. âWhere is he?â Sunghoon shrugged, kissing her forehead. âHad to help his dad with something.âÂ
You turned around, smiling at everyone. You ignored the way your cousin and Sunghoon took up the whole couch and walked to Jungwon and Riki, sitting in between them. They hugged you and you ruffled Rikiâs hair, holding yourself back from pinching his cheek. You all watched as Jake and Sunoo played an intense game of twister.Â
You quickly fixed the hole in the wall, a bit nervous because of all the eyes on you. It didnât help that everyone refused to let you hold the drywall knife even though you had only had one mishap with a knife years ago. Once it was done, Sunghoon nodded in approval and you felt accomplished.
Later, the basement was filled with laughter and music, a comfortable blanket of warmth covering the coldness of the evening. You finished your slider before looking up at Jungwon. âHey,â you mumbled. âWho made all the snacks?â You knew how far Heeseung and Sunghoonâs skills went, and this seemed to surpass them.
âOh, that would be Jay Hyung. Heâs our resident chef.â
You nodded, in thought. You still had to meet Jay. He was supposed to come the other night but he never showed up. You thought you knew him, though, with how often the boys mentioned him. You had heard of Jay before, too. Somehow, you always seemed to miss him. He almost didnât seem real. Despite Heeseung confirming that he was.Â
âHeâs a really good cook,â you shoved a dumpling in your mouth. You werenât the best cook, despite your constant efforts. You could follow a recipe closely enough, but you didnât have that natural talent that you assumed Jay had.Â
After you had lost the game of Twister with your cousin, you sat on the sofa with Riki and Sunghoon. You leaned into Sunghoon and he wrapped his arm around you. To him, you were like a cousin. Someone he didnât have to see or talk to all the time, but knew that when you did, things would be fun. Riki laid slumped against you. He didnât usually get comfortable so quickly with strangers but he already knew you from the stories, and you thought he was just the cutest.
You watched as your cousin tried beating Sunoo and Jake at Mario Kart, but all you could do was laugh. She was horrible at it, but she was smiling and having fun. You knew Heeseung was just itching to grab the controller out her hand and you parted your lips to make a comment when your wrist hurt.
You glanced down at your right wrist and your eyes widened when the slight stinging pain turned into something warmer. You gripped your wrist and held your breath when the J on your wrist turned a solid, dark blue. You gasped at the colour, immediately standing upright. You caught the attention of everyone in the room and they stared at you.
You glanced at your cousin with wide, frightened eyes. What was happening? You rubbed the letter, wondering if you were seeing this. No, no, this canât be.
âY/n?â She dropped the controller, slowly standing up. She walked to you and grabbed your wrist, gasping at the blue letter. Suddenly, everything around you became quiet and loud at the same time. Everyone stood up and surrounded you, eyes wide as they stared at your wrist.Â
Heeseung laughed, biting his fist in excitement. Sunoo and Riki shared a look of disbelief. Jungwon could only gape with Jake, neither hadnât actually witnessed a tethering in real life.Â
Your cousin said your name softly, pulling you out of your haze. She smiled at you and grabbed your other hand. âY/n. Listen to me,â she squeezed your wrists. âDo you know what this means?â
Numb, you could only nod. When your Soulmate is close, your letter turns blue. The two letters then tether together a string of fate that tries to pull both Soulmates together. The string is invisible to everyone but them, and is inevitable once it has appeared.
âCan you see the string?â
You blinked and looked down at your wrist, eyes widening as a blue string appeared in front of your eyes, connecting your letter J with someone elseâs wrist. Your eyes followed the blues hue until you glanced at the basement stairs.Â
âThis is so exciting,â Riki whispers, earning a shove from Sunghoon. He could see the turmoil on your face. The hesitance and the need that swirled in your eyes. Any second now, and you would begin toâ
Breathing heavily, you yanked your wrists from your cousin's hold and booked it upstairs, running towards your Soulmate. Your cousin stared at where you once stood before she yelled your name, running after you. Sunghoon and Heeseung followed, calling both your names.
Panicked, Jake grabbed the car keys and ran after them. Jungwon, Sunoo, and Riki followed him, all four of them scrambling up the stairs to the front door. Jake watched as the four of you ran down the street and decided it would be better to have one car. He shoved the three younger boys in the back and quickly pulled out of the driveway.Â
You ran as fast as you could. There was a red car driving ahead of you, and you knew it belonged to your Soulmate. It had not gotten far when you ran out the front door, but now it was leaving you in its wake.
Blood pumped to your head as your lungs burned. You could hear your cousin, Sunghoon, and Heeseung behind you but you didnât care. You werenât exactly sure what you were doing, all that you knew was that you needed to see him. To touch him. It was as if a centuries old feeling had overtaken you, throwing all common sense out the window as primal need and want swirled inside of you.
Abruptly, the car came to a stop in the middle of the road. The blue string tightened as you neared the car, out of breath and sweaty. Slowing down, you began heaving in deep breaths when you were only twenty meters away from the car.Â
Heeseung and Sunghoon caught up to you, huffing and sweaty. Heeseung put his hand on your shoulder as the three of you caught your breath, your cousin now speed walking to you. His eyes narrowed at the familiar license plate and he shared a look with Sunghoon, both holding their tongues.Â
Your eyes were focused solely on the driver side of the red car. You didnât care about the model or the plate, just the person who drove it. Your heart was beating so loudly in your chest you could feel it in your fingernails. You were still out of breath but it had nothing to do with running. Your Soulmate sat in that car and you had no choice but to meet him.Â
Your cousin reached you and put her hand on your other shoulder. She was excited and nervous but she could feel the tension rolling off of you in waves. She squinted at the car and gasped, immediately being shushed by Heeseung and Sunghoon. Somewhere behind you, a car had been parked. You could hear other voices join the cloud of noise in your mind.Â
âY/n,â Heeseung whispered. âDonât be scared. I promise you that heâs a good guy. Thereâs nothing like meeting your soulmate for the first time.â He squeezed your shoulder. âRemember, he is perfect for you.âÂ
You nodded, tears in your eyes. You had imagined this scenario many times in your head but it was never real. You knew that realistically you had a Soulmate but you never expected to meet him so young. Now, with hundreds of emotions clashing inside you, the only one you could identify was longing.Â
Slowly, you put one foot in front of the other until you slowly started getting closer to the car. You stopped after a few steps, hands shaking as you realized that only you were moving. You purse your lips at the thought of your Soulmate not wanting to meet you.
âHe doesnât want me,â you mumbled. You took a step back but your cousinâs chest stopped you. She stood directly behind you and held both your shoulders, a frown on her lips. âWhat? Y/n, of course he does. Heâs probably just as nervous as you.âÂ
You shook your head, trying to ignore the blue string that looked so tempting, so inviting. âHeâs not even moving.â You tugged your hand back, wincing when the letter burned for a second. âHe doesnât want me.â
âDumbass,â Sunghoon whispered, rolling his eyes. Of all the moments he chose to be slow, this is what prevailed? Sunghoon wanted to drag him out of the car and shake him until he reached his senses.Â
Heeseung grabbed a small pebble from the road and eyed it. He glanced at Sunghoon who only shrugged. Nodding to himself, Heeseung threw the pebble right at the car. You watched as the small stone hit the carâs back window with a quiet smack!
However small the stone, it did its job. You held your breath as the figure inside the car moved. You watched with wide, shiny eyes as he slowly opened the car door and stepped out. Your eyes travelled from his black boots up his dark blue jeans. You eyed the black sweater before you glanced at the side of his face. Your entire body shook and you audibly gasped when he slammed the door closed, turning to you.
Your shiny eyes met his dark brown ones and everything around you stopped. All the noise disappeared and the presence of others behind you no longer existed. It was just you and him. It was always going to be you and him.
Jay was frozen. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, his palms sweaty as he tried to breathe. He had driven to Sunghoonâs house and parked, before he realized he forgot his phone at home. He pulled out of his driveway and began to drive when his wrist burned and the letter turned blue. In shock, he kept his foot on the pedal, unable to process anything.
It was only when he saw your figure in the rearview camera that he parked his car, breathing heavily. He blinked a few times, mouth dry, as he stared at you. You stood in front of him, hands trembling and so beautiful. He ignored the audience behind you, his sole focus on you.Â
You were so beautiful, so perfect. His heart swelled in his chest and he was sure this wasnât healthy. His lungs almost burst and his hands twitched. He needed to do something. He needed to see you up close, touch your face. This couldnât be, Jay wanted to shout. Sheâs too pretty.Â
You swallowed as you stared at him. He was beautiful. With his strong jaw and sharp eyebrows that were covered by his black hair. Your eyes trailed his face, memorizing the shape of his nose and lips and his broad shoulders.Â
He looked so big and strong and yet so gentle, you almost collapsed. His tan skin made you want to kiss him, and the way he was staring at you, eyes wide and twinkly, made you think he wanted the same.
The blue string tightened and pulled you both into each other, impatient; you started moving towards him and he started moving towards you. Neither of you had any control over your limbs as fate pulled you both together, space lessening.Â
Jay broke into a run, needing to breathe you in. He almost called out to you when you began running towards him, wanting you to save your breath because he was coming to you. Breathless, you both stopped in front of each other, eyes locked on the other.Â
You were shorter than him, and when you looked up at him, eyes wide and filled with trepidation and excitement, Jayâs knees buckled. You smiled at him, at the closeness, breathing in his scent. He was so handsome, masculine features mixed with soft, angelic ones. At your smile, all of Jayâs initial worries melted. As long as you smiled at him, he knew he would be okay.Â
âHi,â you whispered. Your voice, soft and anxious, brushed against his chin. You wanted to reach out to him, touch his sharp jaw. Your blue letter itched, the need to turn red weighed heavily on both of you.Â
Jay smiled and you melted, all your insecurities and indifference dissipating. How could you have had any qualms about this? About him? He was perfect to you, from his smile to his trembling hands.Â
âHi, pretty.â Jay inched closer to you, tips of his shoes touching yours. Your cheeks felt warm at the term, knowing he genuinely meant it. He was staring at you with so much passion, heat infused into eyes.Â
Slowly, you reached up. Your right hand slowly inching towards your face. Jay watched you closely, wanting to paint a perfect picture of you in his mind. His eyes briefly glanced at the blue J on your wrist and his smile deepened. Thatâs right, he thought. You were his and he was yours.Â
Gently, you cupped his cheek and you both winced in pleasure as your wrists began to burn. He leaned into your hand and it felt like all the stress you had been harboring for years had lifted off your chest. Your heart felt lighter and fuller and when you breathed, it felt like you had taken your first breath of fresh air.Â
Jay closed his eyes as his wrist burned. He nuzzled his face into your warm hand, tears pricking his eyes as all of his hardships and insecurities melted away. He suddenly felt like he could rule the world, like he deserved everything good the world had to offer.Â
He felt like he deserved you; someone so beautiful and soft, with a kind smile and wide eyes.Â
Jay lifted his right wrist, keeping it parallel to yours. You both watched as the letters turned permanently red, something warm swirling in your stomachs. Once the burning lessened, you tried pulling your hand away but Jay caught your wrist, keeping your hand on his face. He lifted your other hand to his face and you grinned when his eyes fluttered shut.Â
You rubbed his jaw, silently impressed by the sharpness. Everything felt warm and electric. You could feel your insides turn to mush when he smiled at you, his eyes lighting up. His lips looked so soft, so plump. Without thinking, you ran your thumb across his bottom lip, transfixed by the pinkness. Jay almost whimpered at the feeling, his entire face warming up.Â
With an urgency Jay had never felt before, his hands gently came up to your waist. His eyes squinted in question and you nodded, needing his hands on you. His strong hands rested on your waist, pulling you in closer to him.
âI know we have a lot to talk about,â Jayâs voice brushed against your lips, âbut I might pass away if I donât kiss you.â His eyes were filled with adoration, desperation leaking into his hold.Â
You nodded, pulling his face closer to yours. âKiss me,â you begged. You didnât even mind the audience behind you, knowing that they didnât matter. Nothing did, not when his lips hovered over yours.Â
Jay smiled as he pressed his lips against yours. You gasped into his mouth, a wave of emotions crashing into you, pushing you further into him. The warmth in your chest erupted, spreading over your whole body as he kissed you. His lips softly pressed against yours and he pulled away. Before you could think, you grabbed the front of his sweater and pulled him back, slamming your lips against his.Â
You could feel his heart beating and knew yours was beating just as loudly. Jay pulled you flush against him, kissing you back just as hard. He had never felt like this before. He had never wanted to fall to his knees in devotion the way he wanted to right now. He could have if your grip on him wasnât so strong.
Everything inside you begged for your hands to roam, to touch his body. But you couldnât. Not yet. You didnât even know his name. With a heavy heart, you pulled away, panting into his mouth. Your eyes were still closed when he rested his forehead against yours, both breathing the other in.Â
âI called this,â a familiar voice said behind you.Â
Jay opened his eyes first and couldnât help but smile at your expression; lips plump and eyes shut. You looked breathtaking. He almost pressed another kiss to your inviting lips but his eyes glanced to the side and he froze. All his friends, all your friends, were staring at him with goofy smiles and mischievous eyes.Â
Slowly, you opened your eyes and Jay looked back at you. You smiled shyly at him before looking down. He still held you close to his chest, his hands warm on your waist. Your hand was still gripping his sweater and cupping his cheek. You didnât have it in you to let go.Â
âEveryoneâs staring,â you whispered. âArenât they?âÂ
Jay nodded, a soft smile on his face. You wanted to kiss it. Your heart couldnât handle it. It was such a beautifully sculpted smile, the edges of his lips turned upwards as his eyes shone. âThey are.â He narrowed his eyes slightly at them. âDo you want me to tell them to go?â
You shook your head. You knew you were still in the middle of the street but if you were alone with him, you may get yourself in trouble. He was too much. You didnât trust yourself enough, part of you knew that you wouldnât mind if he began to strip you. âItâs okay. They wouldnât leave, anyways.â
Jay tilted his head, his head filled with clouds of desire and affection. He licked his lips and tried not to smirk when your eyes fell on them, wide with curiosity. âI know I should have asked before, but whatâs your name, pretty?âÂ
You laughed, smiling in embarrassment. If Jay could have bottled the sound, he would have. If he could have bottled it, he would have worn it around his neck, wanting to keep it close to his heart. He had heard many laughs over the years, but none that sounded as beautiful as yours.Â
âY/n,â you answered. You grazed his cheek with your thumb, not noticing the way his eyes widened. âMy nameâs Y/n.â You looked up at Jay and frowned at his surprised expression. Your eyebrows furrowed and you purse your lips. âWhat? What is it?â
âYouâre Y/n? The Y/n?âÂ
Slowly, you nodded. âYes? Iâm sorry,â you pulled your head back, âyou know who I am?â
Jay opened his mouth to answer but then paused. Disbelief bubbling in his chest. He glanced back at Sunghoon and Heeseungâs pleased faces and realized he hadnât answered you. Shaking his head, he laughed. You simply watched him in confusion as laughter took over his body, his eyes tearing up.Â
âIâm Jay,â he finally answered. He watched as the information processed in your mind, watched as your lips parted and your eyes grew. You stared at him like he was a magical creature and he wondered if he was looking at you the same way.Â
âYouâre Jay?â You grabbed his chin, turning his head back and forth, trying to sear his face into your mind. âAs in, the Jay who always complains about the stairs and cooks?â
Amused, Jay simply nods. You both stare at each other in wonder, hundreds of emotions brimming underneath the surface while unspoken words sit in between you. All those years that you had missed each other, all those occasions that could have been.Â
âSo, isnât this interesting?âÂ
You broke your eye contact with Jay and turned at the sound of Heeseungâs pleased voice. You smiled as they all walked up to you, happiness shining in their eyes. Jay rolled his eyes before he stepped beside you, his arm still around your waist.Â
Your cousin grinned at you and you smiled back, still in shock. She stepped towards you and you moved away from Jay, wrapping your arms around her. She hugged you tight, whispering quiet nothings to you. You squeezed your eyes shut, tears on the verge of spilling. She pulled away and you wiped a tear that escaped her. No words were exchanged because you already knew. You could feel it. You understood it all now. She simply kissed your cheek and smiled at Jay.Â
Sunghoon ruffled your hair and you frowned, slapping his hand. He grinned at you before bumping his shoulder against Jayâs. Jungwon and Sunoo hugged you, congratulating you. Jake pressed a soft kiss to your head, telling you how proud he was. Riki was crying and you hugged him. You rubbed his back as he sobbed, as the true emotional baby he was.Â
You teased Riki, whispering quiet phrases of encouragement before he let you go. This was the first time he had watched Soulmates meet and it was beautiful. He wanted to find his own so badly.Â
Quietly, Jay stepped beside you, his hand resting on your lower back. He needed you close to him. While he appreciated all his friends and their teasing and jabs, he really just wanted you alone. He wanted to get to know you, to know you beyond the stories he had heard. He wanted to memorize your taste and your smile. He wanted to begin his forever.Â
You smiled at him and realized that his eyes were bright with something else. Something dangerous. You turned your head, facing Heeseung as Jungwon recalled his joke from the other night. Your entire body felt warm and you tried to ignore his body heat beside you.Â
Your cousin, being the best person to exist, noticed the quietness between you both and she nudged Sunghoon. With a single raised eyebrow, he understood her unspoken words and nodded. He cleared his throat, interrupting Heeseung. âMaybe we should give them some space? Jake, let's take your car back.â He winked at Jay and winced when your cousin elbowed him.Â
Jake nodded, understanding how important this moment was. He fetched his keys from his pocket and clapped his hands. âOkay! Everyone whoâs not Jay or Y/n back to my car. Pick the laps you want to sit on.âÂ
You and Jay watched as the seven of them walked away, arguing and laughing. You stood in the middle of the road until you could no longer see Jakeâs care. Your breathing had gotten deeper, a bubble of anxiety and excitement bubbling in your chest.Â
Jay turned his head and looked at you, suddenly nervous. His heart skipped a beat when you looked at him, smiling. âHave you eaten? Do you want to get something to eat? Or drink?âÂ
Your smile widens at his words. He was just as nervous as you were. It calms you down a bit, knowing you didnât have to pretend with him. âI could eat.â You admit. Jayâs eyes soften and he nods. He slowly pulls you to his car and you follow him, nervous.Â
âI canât believe you almost drove away from me,â you teased. Jayâs ears turned red and you laughed, finding him adorable. As you neared his car, Jayâs shoulders dropped.Â
âI was nervous,â he admitted. âAnd a bit scared. I didnât expect to find you like that.âÂ
You nodded in understanding because you did understand. Still, you purse your lips. âYouâre not still nervous, are you?â You wanted to keep your own insecurities out of your tone but he caught them. âI mean, youâre not upset that you found me, are you?â
Jay stilled at your words. You didnât even notice until your hand slightly grazed the roof of his car. You turned, only to find Jay in front of you. He stepped towards you and your back hit the side of his car. You looked up at him, surprised. He caged you in, arm on either side of you.
Your throat dried at his closeness and his eyes; gosh, his eyes. Dark and blown wide with fondness and desire. He dipped his head down to yours until his breath made your ear tingle.Â
âY/n, you have no idea how happy I am. My heart is about to burst out of my chest and I am one second away from bursting into tears.â He pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. âI want to touch you all over, learn everything about you, but Iâm trying to be a gentleman.â He pulled back, smiling gently at you as if he didnât just ignite a fire in your whole body.
Your eyes shut at his words, knowing you had mistaken his hesitant demeanor. He watched as you breathed his scent in, wanting to coat yourself in his smell. The intensity of your want was killing you. Is this how it felt for all Soulmates?Â
You opened your eyes and Jay almost fell to his knees at the need and want in your eyes. He felt the exact same way, but he wanted to be patient. He wanted to spend more time with you, learn more about you, before he made love to you. He wanted to be a gentleman, someone who you wouldnât mind calling your Soulmate.Â
Jay kissed you, smiling when you wrapped your arms around his neck. He pushed into you, wanting to feel every crevice of your body. Your hands pushed into his hair, pulling him closer to you. All you wanted was him.Â
When you pulled at his hair, Jay pulled away, breathing heavily. He pressed a soft kiss to your pout, unable to help himself. He pressed his forehead against yours, smiling when you kissed his cheek.Â
âWe have forever, love.â He kissed your nose. âLetâs take things slow. Let me treat you well.â
