So @lovinthepizzalife and I were talking about ships as friends do, she mentioned ThunderIron while I was thinking about WinterIron and we all know about where that was going to go. I don’t have the fucking time to write an entire fic, but here are some headcanons Pizza and I were screaming about.

Thor expects Tony to steal his clothing per Midgardian custom (and he totally does) but he’s mildly surprised to find Bucky wrapped up in his cape

Thor calls Tony “Anthony” and Bucky “James”

After Thor’s incessant whining, Tony officially changes ‘Strongest Avenger’ in the Avengers files… to Bucky. Bucky can’t convince Tony to change it back no matter how hard he tries, but Thor no longer has a problem with it. All of the new Avengers call Bucky ‘Strongest Avenger’

They don’t fight. At all. What do they have to fight about? There are disagreements, but never yelling or ignoring one another

Sexually speaking, Tony is the bottom and Bucky is afraid to go too hard on him, but Thor knows Tony can handle it and definitely enjoys getting kinky

Thor switches occasionally, but Bucky never bottoms after the one time they tried and he had a severe PTSD flashback to being r*ped by HYDRA

Tony is able to sleep with Thor and Bucky because they’re the only ones strong enough to hold him down when he wakes up from a violent nightmare

Tony is a bit self-conscious about being so much smaller than his big, strong boyfriends but he’s also a damned proud power bottom

Thor has had to use lightning to restart Tony’s arc reactor after a battle took too much out of him, and the mental image of it still haunts Bucky’s dreams

Bucky has told Thor that should he be compromised through the codewords, Thor should electrocute his left arm because it has the best chance of killing him instantly

Tony and Bucky can absolutely lift Mjolnir/Stormbreaker

Thor loves bragging about his boyfriends, even for the smallest things

Thor loves to talk about the stars and Tony loves to listen for the science, and Bucky loves to listen just to hear Thor talk

Bucky would never admit it to Thor’s face, but he slightly, just a little bit, prefers the way Thor looks in pictures where he has long hair

The first time ‘Winter’ comes out, everyone quickly learns he’s extremely territorial. No one is allowed to touch Tony or Thor, they can’t even touch each other without getting a warning growl from the assassin

When they cuddle, it’s a dog pile of limbs, little spoons and big spoons don’t exist. Just intermixed bodies sprawled out on each other.

Shovel talks are inevitable and expected. Steve gives one to Tony and Thor, Pepper and Rhodey give ones to Bucky and Thor, Heimdall gives one to Tony and Bucky, as anticipated. However, the more surprising ones came from Loki to Tony and Bucky, Sam to Tony and Thor, and Natasha to Bucky and Thor

Bucky gets sent on away missions the most (because SHIELD likes exploiting TWS a bit too much) and he’s always more than ready for the next week of excessive clinginess from Thor (and Tony, though he hides it better) as soon as he gets back

Bucky only lets Thor and Tony read his notebooks of fragmented memories

Redemption Arcs

A well done redemption arc can be amazing (see Zuko, Megamind), but generally, the basis of redemption comes from that person either being evil as a reaction to an overwhelming and seemingly inescapable situation (i.e.  evil as the only option) or thinking they are doing the right thing. In both situations, the redemption comes from recognizing the error and correcting.  Some argue Enji “Endeavor” Todoroki falls into the latter category (i.e. he thought he was doing the right thing). However, the idea that he thinks he’s doing the right thing and corrects only at the time when he does suggests - to me - that he isn’t actually remorseful, but that his last remaining victim (in whom he actually has a vested interest) has the ability and means to not only escape him but cause his furthered pursuit of the same course to have consequences. Which is also why any off-screen or otherwise move toward his wife, Rei, simply looks like an attempt to foster a connection through which he could achieve a new victim (i.e. if she forgives him, he has a chance at a new child).  We also have no idea what happened to his eldest son, Touya. Is he dead? Is he Dabi? If he is Dabi, were the scars a result of the father? I don’t just mean whether Endeavor’s fire caused the damage which likely would’ve nearly killed Dabi - but did he push his son to train in a dangerous manner or pressure his son toward suicide. Deku comments that charges could’ve been brought against Kacchan if Deku had committed suicide because of provocation, so if the big secret around Touya is the belief Endeavor pushed him to suicide (whether successful or not), that’s another charge in addition to abuse (emotional, physical, etc.) to his wife and children. 

I don’t give a hoot what Endeavor says. He can claim he wants to be the hero his son is proud of until he’s blue in the face, but nothing he has done suggests he’s changed at all. His actions as a professional hero are out of a desire to be praised and basically worshipped. He isn’t selfless, and self-destruction doesn’t mitigate the dubiousness of his motives. 

Neither Rei nor Fuyumi can serve as proof contrary. Rei has been his longest victim, and he had to woo her rather than having her under his thumb from birth, so he knows how to manipulate her. Fuyumi and Natsuo didn’t have the sort of quirk Endeavor wanted, and we’re told prior to Shoto, Touya endured his father’s closest attention. We saw how Endeavor treated his youngest son, and Touya was the eldest. However, Natsuo loathes Endeavor while Fuyumi makes excuses for him and wants to forgive him. She doesn’t generally give much reasoning behind her desires (other than expressions about being a normal family and Endeavor being their father). Perhaps she’s taking cues from when she was young, and her mother said something similar when Fuyumi saw the way Endeavor treated her elder brother. Will we ever know? Probably not. Natsuo seems to take his cue from Shoto. He recognizes the neglect he suffered was the lesser of two evils with their father, and in the manga, he’s been supporting his brother in attitude it seems. Again, like with Fuyumi, this could all be personality based. They could have the same exact information, but Fuyumi is simply more forgiving. It’s complicated especially as she’s the only daughter (which could have influenced the treatment she received, but that’s a marriage tool (women used to create strategic alliances) rant for another day). 

For me, I will always hate Endeavor. Anyone who likes him in the manga (i.e. Hawks) will immediately be colored in distrust and suspicions that they’re equally questionable behind closed doors / if given the chance, and if we get that final confirmation that Dabi is Touya, I want all of Endeavor’s deeds to come to light, and I want to see the way that shakes the already rattled faith in heroes. Honestly, if Dabi wanted to wreck the world of heroes, that information (with supporting evidence) to the right reporter would be disastrous.

Dabi has killed. He should go to jail, and honestly, if he is Touya, he needs some serious psychological help to deal with the abuse he faced as a child and the kind of obvious body horror he has faced likely as a means to / a result of his escape from his father’s influence (I mean, seriously, he didn’t heal right / well so ‘almost died’ seems to be stating it softly). 

I’ve worked in forensics. I’ve seen cases where kids and spouses were abused, and out of fear, they found ways to kill their abusers - but because of their fear, it is rarely a crime of passion (though there have been cases where sons fight back or step in for the first time and are shocked to have defeated their abuser), but most plan it out because they feel they have no choice, and more often than not, I saw them get extremely hard sentences because abuse can be difficult to prove especially if it hasn’t been documented (i.e. photographs / doctors reports of repeated injuries, etc). 

We see the Todoroki abuse hasn’t been documented. The only bit that was came from Rei burning Shoto, so I could 100% see a lawyer arguing that if someone was abusing the kids, it was her and not Endeavor. She’s the one that was locked up. Nothing has happened to Endeavor. The kids are still in his custody, so even if she did talk, nobody did anything. Nobody listened. 

What does this lengthy rant mean? 

It means the “redemption” arc for Enji “Endeavor” Todoroki isn’t one. He lost control of his prized victim, and we have no proof he wouldn’t go right back to doing the exact same thing if he had another child. Nothing he has done contradicts that. 

How could they fix that? 

If Dabi is Touya, have Endeavor not fight back. Have Endeavor recognize his eldest and do whatever it takes to give his son a redemption arc - to bring his son back into the light and damn the consequences to himself. Have Endeavor claim Dabi/Touya the moment he recognizes him. That is his son; he screwed up and pushed him to the breaking point, and have him throw himself on the pyre (not necessarily literally) to bring him back. Then - I would accept redeemed Endeavor.

are we forgetting the ultimate ship? sexy, smoking, s-named runaways? sabo/sophie/sanji? it's a match made in heaven!

friday therapy for blonde s-named smokers who grew up in positions of privilege and ran away to Do Something Real With Their Lives. 

“what a niche support group,” sabo says, looking at the banner as he reaches for the coffee (made with a special sanji blend). “are you two sure you didn’t make up your pasts after you learned about me?”

sophie informs, “actually, we both think you’re lame and also your scar sucks.”

“take a fucking sip and sit down,” sanji says, passing his cigarette pack to sophie.

sabo can set his mouthy company on fire and burn them to a crisp. but he was raised politely, so he sits in the empty chair, takes off his hat, and lights their cigarettes. they glance suspiciously around, measuring each other up (sophie throws a half-eaten donut hole at sanji when he fixes his gaze south of her eyes and starts squinting like he’s running numbers in his mind), then start comparing stories.

sabo argues that he’s the least richboy among them because he’s been a feral child running around in the woods since he was, like, eight. sanji says he left his family at that age and was already working as a cook by the time he was ten. sophie’s eyes twitch as she realizes she’s the only one who didn’t leave her family until recently. this is not looking great for her. she is undoubtedly the richest richboy here.

“if you think about, we’re bananas who peeled ourselves,” sophie points out quickly. “and that’s all that matters. we are three naked bananas walking on our own path of self-actualization away from the battlefield littered with the rotting corpses of other bananas. maybe life is just the process of peeling through our inner banana.”

the boys stare as she finishes her metaphor.

“you know?” sophie adds.

sabo heats up his coffee in his hands to avoid coming up with an immediate reply. sanji takes a heavy drag of his cigarette, then says, “sophie-san, do you believe in love at first banana?”

“this was a bad decision,” sabo says to no one in particular.

There is a reason the Avengers have their groceries delivered each week. Tony made the mistake of taking them shopping only once and that was enough for him.

Tony: I already explained this to you, Cap--

Steve: Then explain to me again why milk is 4 dollars a gallon!

Peter, an arm full of instant ramen: Mr. Stark, they have a new shrimp flavor!

Tony: Kid, that had no nutrition at--

Natasha: Who wants bacon!

Clint: I'M A SLUT FOR BACON!

Tony: What the fu-

Bruce, trying to decide on which tea to get: I mean they're all good, but this brand is cheaper.

Tony: Billionaire, Bruce, just--

Thor: Friend, Tony! We shall feast tonight on the Pop of Tarts!

Tony: Why do you have 2 carts of popt--!?

Steve, still distressed over the milk: How do you get milk from an almond!?

Peter, distracted: Can we get cheese sticks too?

Natasha: What about pudding?

Clint: Fuck your pudding!

Peter, excited: Mr. Stark cheetos are on sale!

Bruce, still deciding on a tea: Can we afford tea cookies too? I'm sure we have a coupon somewhere.

Steve, frantic: How do you milk an almond, Tony!?

Tony:

*Bucky murders the head of Hydra and takes his place. He gets his hands on BARF and his memories come back. He chuckles darkly a couple of months later at the person sitting on the chair he once was in. This person was his and only his. He belonged to him and no one was gonna take this beauty away*

Bucky: ready to comply soldat?

Tony: *eyes slowly open, void of any emotion*

………..

*during a fight*

Steve: Tony? Bucky?

Tony: who’s Tony?

Steve: *heart breaks as he whispers softly* no

Bucky: *chuckles evilly* soldat, attack!

*cue Tony’s iw scene with the suit before he attacks Steve while Bucky watches, proud of his pet*

Waiter: And for our main dish, we are serving *sets plate in front of me with nothing but a picture of ryuji*

Me: exquisite. Compliments to the chef

*looking through a tiny window from the kitchen, Atlus nervously watches me with hungry eyes while wearing a chef's hat*
