CHAPTER: 001

RINS POV

He let out a sigh as he settled his phone down. He had just finished practice, and yet look at him: already texting you and hiori. He didn’t know what he was feeling. He kept on contradicting himself. After all, you and him were enemies- well, technically rivals. And yet: here he was, asking hiori for advice on how to become your ‘friend’. He hated how he felt - after all, you were a stepping stone for his victory. A mere puppet he can use to make himself get better. Nothing more, nothing less. So he didn’t know why he was feeling like this. It was nothing he was used to - you two were rivals, for gods sake. He tried to brush if off as him using you, but he knew that wasn’t it. Rather, he knew that couldn’t be it. He sighed and looked at the time.

9:35 AM.

Well, it’s about time he went to eat breakfast. As he was walking towards the cafeteria, he realized something- he heard little to no noises today. No screams from shidou, no ‘please teach me!’ From nanase, no smug remarks from karasu, heck - not even CHARLES. He was a tiny little bit suspicious but decided not to waste time thinking about it.

He went into the cafeteria and noticed karasu and shidou sitting next to each other while talking. ‘Weird.’ Was the first thing he thought. He wasn’t sure if the two of them got along, but he didn’t spend time on it too much, simply shrugged it off and went to get his breakfast.

Just as he was about to sit from a far away table, he heard shidou yell out “RinRin! Come sit at our table!” And well, to put it frankly: that honestly sounded like actual hell.

But he knew shidou and karau would start an argument over it, so he grumbled and went there anyways. He did sit at their table, but just a few seats away from them.

He paused as he heard them mentioned your name in their conversation. He tried to play it off as if he wasn’t totally eavesdropping on them and started listening in carefully. Hopefully he’d get something out of this..

Shidou raised an eyebrow when karasu mentioned you. “Y/n… who?” He asked the second your name was dropped. Karasu smirked before spilling the tea. “Y/N L/N. Aka japan’s prodigy. She’s isagi’s childhood best friend, and she started soccer about two weeks ago. She’s really good. Right, Rin!?”

Rin scowled and looked at them for a fraction of a second. “She’s not lukewarm, I guess.” Was all he muttered before continuing his food. Karasu turned to shidou with a smirk on his face. “See? Even rin agrees!” Shidou looked at karasu with a grin on his face. “Mhm.. you’ll have to introduce me to Y/N! I wanna know what kinda person she is!” Shidou yelled out in his usual excited tone. Karasu replied with a “oh trust me, you’ll like her a lot.”

Rin scowled and simply grabbed his empty tray of food and settled it down where you put it back (Idk the name of it okay, pls spare me☹️).

He went outside of the cafeteria, ignoring shidou yelling “leaving so soon, rin-rin!?” And going straight to his room.

He was so tired of this day already.. why couldn’t it just end.

YOUR POV

(This happens after rin’s POV btw)

You were sitting through yet another boring ass math lesson. You didn’t wanna be here - after all, you ended SO LATE today! At exactly 4:20PM, to be exact. Thankfully, tho, this was your last lesson. Unfortunately, THIS was your last lesson:(. You could barely even keep up - just writing down whatever was on the board and not bothering answering the questions since it was obvious to you, you were going to be wrong either way. Sighing as you started playing around with your pencil, you feel a soft tap on your shoulder. Ah, it was your classmate, hikaru. He was pretty, nice and popular. Plus, he was really smart. A great guy, really - unlike a certain someone you know. You paused and slightly turned to see him about to whisper something in your ear. “The answers 440. Thank me later.” You paused, damn, was he always this hot or was it just you..? Anyways, off topic!! You finally got the answer to this stupid math problem. Later on during the lesson, he asked the teacher if he could sit next to you. With a few “oooo” coming from your friends, the teacher agreed to let him sit next to you. You didn’t mind, the dude was nice and knowledgeable. Getting to know him was going to be great. There was a slight awkward silence for the first few minutes where you were sitting together, until he decided to break the silence and gently took your notebook when he noticed that you were struggling on one of the questions. “Ah, are you stuck on this one?” He pointed, and you nodded. He smiled and stared at you for a little before going “okay, this one is a little tricky, so you have to pay attention. Basically, you start off by-“ he continued as he explained how to do it to you. He was so.. nice.

After math class, it was around 4:23 PM. You were packing up your stuff and was getting ready to leave until you noticed hikaru waiting for you outside of the classroom. He smiled and offered to carry your bag, which you un-shamefully said yes to. (Your bag was heavy okay, a girl’s gotta have her priorities straight 💔💔) and he didn’t even seem mad as he took your bag and carried it for you. He even offered to walk you home, which you said no to because you had to have soccer practice with rin. When you explained that to him, he offered to walk you there, which, honestly: you weren’t really against it. So that’s how you found yourself here - walking to practice together in a slightly awkward silence. You tried to break it a few times, but no words would come out, so you just decided to stay quiet and continued walking.

Just as you were about to reach practice at exactly 5:30 PM, you noticed rin with the usual scowl on his face. Actually, he seemed slightly more pissed off than usual. Hikaru settled your bag down on a bench and gave you his number before saying “see you tomorrow at school!” Before giving you a quick hug and leaving while you waved him off.

Rin paused, questioning if he should as this or not. He decided he shouldn’t and kept quiet about it, continuing practice as you usually do. There was an awkward silence for a while until you decided to speak up and said “uhm.. if you wanted to know who that was, it’s a guy called hikaru. He’s from my school.” You mumbled and noticed rin subtly nod at the information before scoring yet again.

Rin looked down at you and sighed, finally saying something. “You’re more lukewarm than usual. If you’re gonna slack off, then don’t bother coming to practice.” He said. You slightly turned to him with a smug grin on your face. “Are you worried for me, rin rin? That’s so cute!” You let out. A small ‘tch’ was all you got back as he started leaving.

You looked at him leave and yelled out a “heyyy!! How about we hang out outside of practice??” Which got rin to stop moving. He turned to you, expression unreadable as he said “I’d rather die than going anywhere with you.” Well, nothing you weren’t used to, atleast… “damn, you’re harsh, rin-rin!” You shot back. He glared at you and simply left the field. There was no use in arguing, not when it’s against you of all people.

You packed up your stuff as well and left the field, running towards the last train to make sure you don’t miss it because you would be cooked otherwise. As you managed to squeeze into the very last one, you let out a sigh of relief. When you got off on your stop, you started walking out of the train station and into the streets you knew all too well - a sense of nostalgia washing over you. You got home and opened the door before yelling out a “Mommm!! I’m homeee!!” And settling your shoes down before getting in your house. Your mom let out a chuckle and said “you’re always going out lately! Don’t tell me you have a boyfriend now?” “Mom!” You whined as you grabbed your fav snack from the counter before going upstairs to your room. “If he exists, please introduce him to us!” She teased. You yelled out a “mom, stop embarrassing me!” Before closing your door and jumping on your precious bed and getting out your phone.

Huh..? Unread message from yet another unknown number? And they texted in ganglish??

‘Holy shit. Holy fucking shit.’ You thought as the number showed up on the screen. You scored 2 goals. 2 goals against kaiser. This was actually happening. This isn’t a dream, this was reality. You were about to be a member of blue lock. Your whole entire career - no, your whole entire future has just been decided.

You were lost in thought, worries creeping up. ‘Am I even qualified to be here?’ ‘Wasn’t that just a lucky goal?’ ‘Kaiser probably went easy on me..’ ‘i’m gonna become a professional soccer player.’ And millions of other thoughts flooded your mind before you felt a sudden weight shift and you hit the ground.

‘Ah.. it’s just isagi.’

He was shaking you while yelling “YOU DID IT! OH MY GOD, YOU WON AGAINST THAT RAT!” You snickered at the nickname he gave kaiser because honestly you agreed with him. Who the fuck did his hair??

Kaiser rolled his eyes, obviously pissed he lost to a “newbie”. He paused, and mumbled a “not bad for an amateur. But sheiße(shit), I can’t believe I lost to rin’s lapdog.” You were about to say something back, but someone beat you to it(for once in your life lol.)

“She’s not my fucking lapdog, unlike you and your little ness.” He shooted back as he helped you up and away from isagi (who he was glaring at the whole game.) “you should learn to shut the fuck up, you half-assed fake emperor.” He paused before saying, “and don’t call her a lapdog, since you’re really just insulting yourself. After all, who would loose to a mere lapdog, am I right?” You snickered while kaiser simply shot a glare at rin and left the room. Probably to angrily make out with ness, you thought.

Rin paused as he looked back at you, ears slightly red. SLIGHTLY. He sighed, looking at you as he said, “I’ll get you settled into the room. I’m so sorry for what’s about to go down. We sleep in the same dorm as the rest of the blue lock and PXG players excluding loki, so…” he looked tired of them just by mentioning them, while you were just confused and surprised. What could be so bas that the glorious rin itoshi would be apologizing? It can’t be THAT bad, can it..?

Yup. You now completely understood why he was telling you he was sorry, because this was fucking hell. Shidou was having a pillow fight with charles, karasu and zantetsu were arguing over something dumb, tokimitsu was trying to not go into panic mode, and nanase was trying to get everyone to shut up because you just got here… what a pleasure.

“Oh… uhm….” If this was a “we listen and we don’t judge” thing, you would listen and TELL the judge because what the FUCK was going on right now… you were about to settle into your little corner until fucking shidou decided it was a good idea to jump on you (you didn’t mind, but that isn’t the point.) “TWINNN YOU’RE FINALLY HERE! KNEW YOU WERE GONNA BEAT THAT GERMAN LOOSER!” He yelled while spinning you around and holding you like that one scene in the lion movie(In which I lowkey forgot the name of…)

“Put her down, shidou.” A harsh voice was heard from behind shidou, and all he did was scoff and pull you in closer. “Bet you’re just jealous, rinrin!” “Jealous of what exactly? You and your poor excuse of an ego? No thanks, i’ll pass.” Shidou seemed pissed off but simply ignored rin and turned his attention back to you, in which you said: “Well… hello to you too, shidou…?” “Call me ryusei!” “Right, right- hello to you too, ryusei.” “Damn, that turned me on!” “WHAT?” “I MEAN WE’RE GONNA GET ALONG😅😅😅”

Andd that pretty much sums up your whole entire conversation with shidou before nanase, zantetsu, karasu and the others actually quieted down to introduce themselves and to hear you introduce yourself. It was pretty calm for the most part, ignoring how they were having a war when you first stepped into the room…

As everyone left the room because they had shit to get done, you and rin were left alone. You paused, an awkward silence settling in before you mumbled a “so, uhm… wanna practice?” He looked at you, hesitant for a few seconds or so before nodding and holding your hand before stepping out of the room to go practice.

As you guys were practicing, you noticed how unusually quiet he was. ‘Whats up with him…?’ You thought, before scoring another goal against him (it was 2-4. He scored 4 goals against you.) you took a breath and decided it was about time to ask him. “Hey, what’s up with you? You’re more quiet than usual.” “I think I like you.” “WHAT?!” “What?” “RIN???” “Who’s rin?”

You stood there like an NPC in a game, your mouth hung open with his whole entire body facing the wall (opposite to you), and you could barely even get a word in before he said “Forget what I said. Don’t feel like you’re entitled to like me back.” You pauses as you looked at him and sighed, eyes softening slightly. No more of your usual goofy personality, this was you- the quiet you, atleast. “I think I like you too.” “What.” “What.” “Y/n WHAT.” “WHO’S Y/N? THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER Y/N’S IN THE WORLD, SURELY YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT ONE OF THEM!” You noticed how he paused for just a second before saying “yeah, there are a lot of other y/n’s in the world, but none of them are you.”

And that made your heart absolutely melt - well, putting aside everything else about him that made your heart explode. He’s so fucking sweet, you just wanna bite his cheeks.(cuteness aggression is a real thing chat💔💔) he put his hand on the back of his neck, rubbing it slightly. “Not to mention that none of them are a soccer prodigy… and none of them are as stupidly funny and hilariously dumb as you.” He paused, hesitating before saying something completely out of character for someone like rin. “And none of them can make me feel the kind of way you do.”

He looked at you with this somewhat scared or nervous look in his eye. He never expected someone like you to like someone like… him. You paused, unsure of what to say. The tension was high, and you hesitated before walking a little too close to rin. His breath hitched, feeling you getting closer and closer. Before he knew it, he was leaning in, and so were you. Neither of you knew what to say, but you still knew what to do. His hands found your waist, as if it felt like something natural.

He leaned in closer before stopping right as he was about to kiss you, looking into your eyes for a few seconds: as if asking for approval. you leaned it slightly closer, and that was the only consent he needed before crashing his lips onto yours. You two stayed like this for a few seconds before he pulled away and muttered ‘we should probably get going before the others think we’re doing something weird.’

You let out a sigh as you clicked ‘send’, before looking up at the door. The house-no, villa was MASSIVE. No wonder there were 4 people living here…! Actually, you were surprised it wasn’t the whole entire blue lock squad - surely it was necessary for it to be THIS big, right….?

As you were busy admiring the house, you soon realized that you REALLY needed to go inside… the wind was relentless, blowing your hair in 7 different directions, with you practically holding the wall to not get blown away. ‘When is this idiot going to open the door!?’ You let out a sigh of relief when he finally opened it.

Before you even stepped in, he chuckled at you before saying “you got yourself in a hell of a mess, girl.” Before you could reply, he had already left to tell the others that you were here. As the 3 others ascended from their cave, you silently told yourself ‘yup. I’m cooked. These guys are gonna be a fucking pain to deal with….’ You exhaled deeply as you took off your shoes and settled down your bag before settling down on a chair(as rin told you to.)

You were mentally preparing for rin to start asking questions, but it was actually shidou who was asking the questions here… so, once again, you are COOKED. You waited a bit before shidou finally opened his mouth. “So, like, when’s your birthday?” “Oh, it’s (Insert your birthday.)” “hmm, okay, where are you from?” “I’m from here. Japan.” “Right, right. Uhh.. guys, what esle should I ask?” Rin groaned as he pushed shidou aside. Rin started, saying, “do you have any pets?” “No, I don’t.” “Hmm, okay. Do you have allergies?” “Nope, none that I know of.” “Okay, do you drink?” “Well.. sometimes, but not often.” “Do you work from home?” “No, I don’t.” “Do you go to college?” “Yeah, I do.” “Okay.. do you smoke?” “No.” “Alright, what’s your workday routine?” “Uhm, it really depends on the day, but I often come home really late, so yeah.” “How would you handle conflict?” “Erm, depends on the situation, but I’d try to calm me and the other person down so we don’t cross any boundaries or get hurt.”

Rin sighed before turning to the other guys as he said, “yeah, she seems fairly normal… compared to karasu atleast. Alright, L/N-“ “you guys can call me Y/N.” “..okay, Y/N, you can go and pick out which room you’d like.”

You nodded as you got up and started wandering around the house before you pulled out your phone to text karasu.

A/N: sorry for posting this lowkey kinda late… i was writing this in the bus so I has limited time😭🙏

You sighed and settled your phone down, already looking nervous. Doubts started creeping up - could you really do this? On your own, at that? You sat up from your bed and looked down at your packed up bags - you didn’t forget anything, right..?

After checking everything to make sure you didn’t forget anything, you settled back down and thought. ‘Alright, let’s do the maths..’ you mumbled under your breath as you started counting. Rin said it took him about 20 minutes to get from blue lock to your practicing place…

For you, it takes around 20-25 minutes. Adding that to the 20 minutes it takes for him to get there, it should take you around.. 40-45 minutes for you to get to blue lock’s facility!

Okay, that seems reasonable enough. You waited and waited, then saw isagi’s text:

Isagi: come outside, i’m here :3

You quickly grabbed your stuff and ran down the stairs, yelling a ‘goodbye mom!’ Before running outside. You met up with isagi and dabbed him up as you usually do.

(Ignore that that was lowk cringez😭)

You were about to say something until isagi started by saying “okay, so, we have to get there at 6:30 PM, so we really gotta hurry and take the train that comes at.. erm.. the train that comes the soonest!! Come on, we can’t waste time!” He grabbed your hand and started running.

“WAIT, SLOW DOWN, YOU IDIOT!!” You yelled as he practically dragged you to the train station, regretting ever listening to him. Why were you even doing this?? It was all supposed to be a stupid bet and now you got dragged into this whole- nonsense!!

“Nah, I say we go faster!” He said as he sped up and you were struggling just to keep up. Man, this reminded you of the days where you were late for school and he was dragging you out of your house, yelling ‘we have maths as the first lesson today!! You know that mr. Hishaki doesn’t go easy on us when we’re late!!!’ As he yanked you and forced you to run towards the bus.

(Timeskip to when you got to blue lock :3)

You stepped in, and damn was everything like a flipping labyrinth! If it wasn’t for isagi, you would’ve definitely gotten lost.. just as you were taking in the new environment around you, you bumped into someone when you entered the german stratum(?).

As you were about to apologize, you heard him say “pass auf, wo du hintrittst, Idiot.” (Watch your step, idiot.) and you looked up to see.. a guy with blond and blue hair?? He even had a blue rose tattoo! Who is this guy??

Isagi looked pissed off the second he heard him and said “that’s kaiser.” Before handing you an earplug, telling you to put it on.

And so, you did! You put it on, and.. you could… understand what kaiser was saying? So was this kind of like.. a translator? You looked at kaiser and before you could say hi, he said “so, you’re the one who I’m going to have to beat today? How cute, didn’t think I was dealing with a small fry.”

You paused when he laughed. Man this guy pissed you off! “Man - fuck off.” You mumbled before grabbing isagi’s hand and walking away. “Isagi, you’re totally right - barely even met this guy and he already ticks me off. I want nothing more than to punch him in his arrogant face!”

Isagi smirked and said “I don’t wanna tell you I told you so… BUTTT I told you so.”

(Time-skip to when the match against you and kaiser starter.. Ik theres alot of timeskips rn but BEAR WITH ME😭😭 also if some of these don’t sound right just so yk it’s because idk how to write kaiser and my knowledge about football is VERY limited…)

You being nervous was an understatement. You were scared the hell out of your flipping mind. At first, you thought kaiser was no big deal - but even then, you’re lowkey kinda scared.

The kick off started with kaiser having the ball - all you knew about him was that he had a skill called kaiser impact, and that was honestly it.

When he tried to score, you blocked, stole the ball and tried to score your OWN goal, but then he would block you - and that’s practically how half the match went until kaiser scored a goal. ‘Crap!’ Was your first thought.

You sighed and thought about it. This guy was a cocky, arrogant rat. But, with that said, he did have skills. You had 15 minutes left, and in those 15 minutes- you just said fuck it and went all out.

You ran with the ball at your top speed and surprisingly, kaiser was able to keep up. “This all you got, small fry?” He said as he smirked.

And god you wanted nothing more than to punch him and his face and shove it into a trashcan! Wait, no, focus, Y/N, focus.

You brushed kaiser off, ignoring him. Put then - kaiser almost stole the ball from you. Shit. If you lost this, you would loose all rights to ever represent japanese soccer - and that would be it.

As much as you wanted to say you didn’t care, you did. Soccer was the most fun shit you have ever done in your whole entire life - and honestly, you couldn’t see yourself without it.

Without even thinking, your mind went blank. You dribbled past kaiser, and shot the ball straight towards the goal. You were so far away - there’s no way the ball would reach THAT far, right…?

No. You couldn’t barely even think straight, and yet you did it - you scored a goal.

‘It isn’t over yet. One more goal, just one more goal…’ you mumbled under your breath.

You looked at the time: 5 minutes left. Kaiser had the ball, and you stole it from him when you noticed that his attention was divided: and before you knew it, you scored another goal.
