It’s always nice to imagine the whumpee’s first shower after being freed. Warm water pouring down their scars, maybe after only having freezing water thrown on them. Scented body wash that pushes the memories of their cell far away. Maybe even the caretaker sitting just beside the tub, helping wash through knots and mats in their hair.

Last movie

The Menu (2022) - so so good. Having spent many years working in restaurants and also being an avid lover of horror and dark humor, it's one of my favorite movies I've watched in the past five years, easily.

Craving

I was craving lasagna so I made some for lunch and just about cried. My tummy stopped being able to handle dairy once I hit the 25+ threshold and I managed to make a dairy free lasagna today and yeah...literally was crying into my bowl at how happy i was.

[a video starts, obviously filmed on a phone camera and Dick Grayson, son of Famous multi-millionaire comes into frame grinning. He seems to be sitting in his bedroom in The Wayne Manor]

Dick: Hi guys! Today I’m going to be rating things my little baby brother Jason has done!

[a few pieces of card are sitting on his lap, and he holds up the first one]

Dick: number one! Stole the wheels off Bruce Wayne’s car- I’ll give it a 6/10, points for creativity and getting me a sibling

[he holds up the next card]

Dick, Grinning at the camera: number two! Dying. 0/10, what the fuck man?

[a bang can be heard in the background as Dick hurries to hold up the next card]

[the video abruptly cuts off to the sound of scratching laughter and yelling, the last frame frozen as a man with a white streak is shown mid-spear tackle, his and Dicks bodies in a blur]

Random agere tip #2: if you are planning to regress, pretend to be your own mom! Run a bath, heat up your milk and do whatever else you need beforehand so that everything you need will be ready when you are :3

characters breaking the facade: a collection

Calm and impassive caretaker who usually never says anything more reactive than eyebrow raise gripping an offender by the collar and spitting pure venom in their face

Brawny characters who are usually sarcastic and shield-like going completely, entirely dead silent. Grave ashen face. Hopeless eyes

The comic relief team member crying. Eyes that are used to being filled with light tipping tears over the edge onto their cheeks. Helpless, silent, pretending it isn't happening

In that same vein, leader characters sobbing. Harsh and unhesitant heaving crying, every ounce of heartbreak and grief tearing them open

Stoic and serious characters curling up next to a caretaker and allowing themselves the warmth of being comforted. Possibly even falling asleep on their shoulder

Medic caretakers who don't know what to do. Uncertainty barely suits them; their hands are trembling uncontrollably; their words are slurred with how fast they're speaking. Panic in their lungs

i love it when you push a character past their facade. break. them.

Haven't seen anyone mentioning it yet but when the above scene cuts to Jayce running Viktor to their lab, Viktor is no longer wearing his shirt. Meaning that either: A. Jayce removed the shirt as he tried to resuscitate him (and completely shut it out of his own memory) or B. Jayce stole Viktor away from the medical examiners (probably in response to them declaring him dead or a lost cause).
