You know how musicals have reoccuring riffs for different moods and themes within a show that form connections between characters within a story?

I want someone to write a song where Deidamia sings about being Achilles’s wife and what it really means to be a woman in Ancient Greece. She’s used as a pawn, a tool for Thetis to tear her son away from Patroclus. And the driving point is that she’ll love her son even if her husband is loving someone else. He is her husband only by title and it somehow, even with the promise of fame, makes her feel small because she knows shes just a footnote in his history. Patroclus is wonderful and thats why she hates him, because she understands why Achilles could run to the ends of the earth for him.

These are common themes within the book and I want someone to take the music from Deidamia’s song and adapt it for Briseis. Now here we have two women confusingly in love with men who have forced them to practically marry them despite already having a exclusive relationship together. Briseis sings about having a family with the two of them, Achilles included, and having that calm family dream she has had as a child except she knows she’ll never get what she wants.

There would be a reprise for Briseis after Achilles dies where she mourns the two men, she was a stepping stone to them and nothing more, and yet still she mourns and is obligated to love them. Almost like a slave.

Her song melts into the finale when she and Deidamia sing together the part of the chorus they share and the song melts further into a full ensemble.

A redo! @themornal and I have redone this scene since it’s been over a year since I animated it the first time. Mornal both wrote the bit and does the voice of Edgeworth and Phoenix, and did a stellar job with both!

For anyone wondering what Edgeworth says at the end, it’s: 

“Took a fourteen hour flight across an ocean and a f*cking continent, why do I even bother, why do I even bother??”

I’d been sitting on this thing since early 2020, but since I hadn’t finished it, I never felt like I should post it bc I’m always a perfectionist like that. 😭 Also I just fell out of the fandom and was really put off with wanting any more interaction with it for a good while unfortunately.

As some of you know, I had some Giant Moongene AU stuff posted a while back, tho I didn’t share a whole lot of it… Basically, it’d be Eugene taking the moonstone for the sake of protecting Rapunzel from a potential demise instead of Cass taking it. Personally, I would have liked this route for the storyline instead… (giant or not lol)

Either way! I wanted to see what it might have been like so I attempted to board it out! This is very rough at best and I know I could do a lot better with the shots and choices, but it was a first pass that never got elaborated on more (and honestly the end is just the couple of frames I had from the comic version just slapped on so it would be a bit more complete; honestly I was so close with this thing!)  I found the perfect track, “Moonlight Sonata” (lol) cover by Hidden Citizens, edited the clips from the scene (bc I did NOT want to have to board out ALL of it), and then boarded the rest in between of the alternate path.

I’ve sat on it for so long, but I knew it wasn’t fair to keep to myself. I hope some of you can get to enjoy it too! Maybe one day I’ll have it in me to clean it up…
