Anyways, I just needed to address that for tonight before I lost my mind over it.
***Iron Flame SPOILERS****
I am so incredibly disappointed with what everyone is choosing to talk about with this book. Everyone is concentrating on what happens with Xaden but you know what to me was the absolute most gut wrenching storyline in the whole book? General Lilith Fucking Sorrengail.
From the moment we see her again in the beginning of the book she is nothing but supportive and proud of her daughter. Yes, she absolutely made the wrong decision where she stands in the war, and what she did to Xaden was absolutely inexcusable. (Although I do think if she hadn’t done that they would have killed all the marked ones.) But she made all those decisions for her children. Because she did what she needed to to keep them safe. You can’t convince me that even after Violet leaves, that even after Mira leaves, that she wasn’t incredibly thankful for the fact they were together and with Xaden who would never let something happen to Violet.
Lilith went into the dungeons to get her daughter out of there and I am not unconvinced that had Violet not already been mid rescue the General wouldn’t have turned traitor right there to get her out. The scene when Brennen reveals himself to her?? She’s cracking and can hardly hold herself together and my heart felt so sorry for her in that moment. It made me mad at Brennan because he threw it in her face like ammo when Violet spent all of fourth wing describing how his death ruined their mother.
One of the most heart breaking quotes in the whole book is at the beginning of chapter 65:
“Most generals dream of dying in service to their kingdom. But you know me better than that, my love. When I fall, it will be for one reason only: to protect our children.”
General Sorrengail didn’t support the war, she didn’t fight for Navarre she made it clear fron the beginning that she was just a mom protecting her kids, and she did so without second thought. Without hesitation. She didn’t do what she did for the war effort, or even to help everyone on the battlefield. She did it for Brennen, and Violet, and Mira.
Lilith Sorrengail was just a desperate mother and everyone glossing over her sacrifice is bullshit.

I'm trying to imagine this fandom with out Louis and I have decided it wouldn't exist because we all basically thrive off this one sole man and I'm not afraid to call all of us out for it.
About the last bit with Davis red eye... Here's the text from the Artbook.
And it is actually really written, that he's nearly turned. That's why his one eye is red. (Don't quote me on that translation, i'm too tired to look up properly)
Last night ago, I purchased Code Vein on the PC and installed a few mods. Because of this I’m able to see what the characters look like without their masks on. It’s been interesting to see, and unintentionally hilarious cause literally no one has lip-syncing in cut-scenes that require them to wear one.
But one thing I thought was interesting was the chance I got to see what Oliver Collins looked like under his mask. And more in turn, what he looks like after he turns into a fresh Lost. He has veins all over his face and neck and the sclera of his left eye is blackened. There’s a growth coming out of his head where the veins stop as they move from left to right.
(The blank face doesn’t mean anything, he has no facial animations).
Another thing I noticed is that in game play, Oliver has green eyes, but red eyes in cutscenes:
However, this changes after his mask is damaged, and the model switches to the red eyed one:
Something I feel the need to point out is that the majority of NPCs have red eyes under their masks. It’s likely because we aren’t meant to see what they look like under them and it’s simply a default placeholder, but I do find it interesting that the team went out of their way to give Oliver a unique eye color during gameplay only to just throw it out the window later.
Character’s eyes in Code Vein glow red whenever they are using their blood veil and powers, but they also turn red when they start losing themselves to frenzy. Lost also have red eyes. Other characters that have red eyes include Louis, Karen, and Cruz but I doubt it means anything, especially given Cruz’ eyes were red before she frenzied and turned blue later.
It’s far more likely that some revenants just wake up having red eyes, probably to tie into the vampire theme the game is going for. There was something going around earlier that the art book says the reason Davis has one red eye is that he almost turned, but as of now there doesn’t seem to be any hard evidence that text exists. I’m hopeful there will be more details about the significance of red eyes, if there is anything deepeer to it, in Code Vein in the future.

Who do they go to for comfort?
Xanxus / Without knowing it, Squalo. He isn’t straightforward about it, though. Ever since they befriended each other, Xanxus has a habit of gravitating towards Squalo whenever there’s something bothering him. Most of the time he might not even talk it out, he might just seek for his company, something to get his mind off the things troubling him.
Superbi Squalo / Lussuria, he is understanding and listens intently whenever Squalo needs to let out his feelings. Lussuria and Squalo are quite close with each other and understand one another well, which is why Squalo is able to open up to him if he needs (not that he does it often, though).
Belphegor / He goes to Mammon, the reason being simple - Mammon knows how to deal with Bel, they understand him better than anyone else and they are one of the first people Bel learned to trust after joining Varia. In the future, when Mammon is gone, Bel depends on Lussuria but Squalo as well.
Mammon / Much like rest of Varia, Mammon is quire private and doesn’t open up easily to others. Surprisingly enough, when they do feel troubled, Xanxus is the first one to notice - whether it’s because of their bond or because he is observant, that they don’t know. In the end, Mammon ends up sharing their burden with Xanxus.
Fran / As a kid he would go for Chrome, since she had the patience and kindness to soothe him down, but after joining the Varia he doesn’t reach out to anyone that much. Lussuria sometimes bugs him enough to open up a little bit, but he doesn’t go to him on his own. Sometimes he might call Chrome when he is feeling uneasy - he might not talk about what’s bothering him, but just hearing her voice helps him calm down.
Lussuria/ Squalo, as they have a mutual friendship where they can depend on each other. After all, Lussuria was the one who accompanied Squalo when he defeated all those swordsmen, so they get along extremely well.
Leviathan / He isn’t as private as the rest, which is why he doesn’t have a hard time sharing his burdens with most of Varia. The only ones he wouldn’t talk to about things that bother him are Fran and Bel, since they usually are up to no good if Levi is concerned.
I never thought about Hibari as being that protective. Good point. Why didn't i pick up on this earlier 🤔🤔

I ship Chrome with Hibari 💜 (If I'm not in D18 mood xD) i think they would be cute together and I started shipping them since this one scene in the Future Arc...
Although I have many headcanons for KHR, i sadly don't really have any for Chrome and Hibari as a couple (is there ship code 1896? 🤔)
But i'll share with you the few I have:
Hibari at first doesn't know how to feel about Chrome. She's not as loud as the rest of the group, but she looks to similar to Mukuro (that actually annoys him).
Chrome is unsure about how to behave around Hibari. He's family, she can trust him. But she doesn't get the "being comfortable" feeling when near him.
The first time where they are one-on-one in their free time, when Chrome brings back an injured Hibird back to Hibari. Few words exchanged, but Chrome feels now more confident about Hibari. And he starts to see her as her own person.
Neither really know how it happened, but they started to just "hang out" together on the school rooftop. Meaning Hibari sleeps and Chrome is just there.
It takes a long time (a really long time) before either of them start noticing growing feelings. The rest of the group is a bit weary. Cute Chrome and Hibari? Nope, that doesn't really fit in their picture. Although the girls are supportive XD
My guess, they don't start officially dating until last year of high school. Either of them not used to this new feelings. Also their relationship just kind of starts. Not through words, but it's the little things. Hibari being protective over Chrome. Chrome being really comfortable near Hibari (event being aloud leaning on him) In the end the group asks them if they are dating. Let's just say they never asked again after this one time. They accepted that Hibari and Chrome are together now.
Throughout their relationship they don't really say "I love you". They show through actions (sometimes it's the little things that count)

i kinda get what you’re saying about it being bullshit, but that would kinda mean any win of the vongola’s during the ring battle would be bullshit. like all of the varia are trained professionals, and all of the vongola are just dumb kids that barely know how to use their abilities (besides 20yl!lambo who could only be there a certain amount of time and mukuro who has an undetermined amount of time training with illusions). (hope this doesn’t come off as hate just like talking 😅)

So yeah, if we go by logic as I mentioned at the end of my previous answer, Varia would have won. But it is anime/manga logic so let’s stretch things a bit.
Let’s take a little look at Ryohei vs. Lussuria.Why I think it’s believable... a big stretch, but still kind of believable (if we wanna go by manga/anime logic for the sake of the plot): Ryohei trained since his early childhood. He’s boxing for several years. And with the training he received from Colonello, I can justify his win.
Lambo vs. Levi Here’s where I think Amano-sensei screwed up a bit. Bcs I think this should be another win vor the kids. But only because of 20yl!Lambo. I know it was a 5 minute time limit, in which I believe some minutes where used up for Teen Lambo... But it could have ended smoothly with 20yl!Lambo giving the finishing blow and then switching back. In that case Varia wouldn’t get the Sky Ring, because Tsuna wouldn’t be required to step in and safe Lambo.Imo it would matter, the Ring conflict would still be going on, since it where only 2 battles so far.
Gokudera vs. BelphegorHonestly? Nothing to complain about. Played out was expected and needed. Bel is a genius, it would be weird if he got defeated. And Gokudera had still much of character develpoment to go and this was his first step. Sacrificing the win (the ring) for his friends and staying alive. Bcs this was also a big point: Staying alive!
Let’s skip the Yamamoto vs. Squalo match bcs I already explained that xD
Mukuro/Chrome vs. MammonOh dear, I am still so indecisive on this match. But I give it a fair go. Yes Mammon is an Arcobaleno, so supposedly one of the strongest hitman on earth (or wahtever still have to wrap my head around the whole Arcobaleno thing again). But we don’t know the full extent of Mukuros powers. So it might be true that he is on par with Mammon.I’ll give this match also a fair go.
Hibari vs. Gola Mosca I actually don’t have anything to complain. First of all: the Mosca is a machine. And second of all: We talk here about Hibari!
Finally Tsuna vs. XanxusI haven’t rewatched it yet. I ended my rewatch yesterday at the Hibari vs. GM fight... So I can’t say anything for sure on this one. But if my memory doesn’t deceive me, I didn’t really have anything to complain about it.
And I feel like I have to repeat myself: This is all my opinion. And like I said we are going by anime/manga logic so some things need to be stretched a bit for plot sake. Main character plot armor xDDear Anon at this point I want to thanky you for your input :D I really enjoy it ♥
why do you think yamamoto’s win is bullshit?
Ok let me explain.
There are two main points why i have a major issue with his win.
1. Yamamoto trained only for a week
Ok i admit i might be off with this one week time frame, but it was a really short time.
Yes it is said that Shigure Souen is invincible and everthing... But again! He only trained it for a really short time. To master a sword I imagine it takes years. And he mastered it in a week and is able to properly use it in a life or death situation?! Oh come on. I know it's manga/anime logic, but still... I just... Ok not gonna rant...
And even if he is a natural born hitman. He van have all the instincts and reflexes, but it still takes training. Only talent doesn't do much, you have to train the skill!
So yeah, i can't believe and justify in my head, how he could win with such a short training period (when he never touched a sword before)...
And then we can smoothly go to the next point.
2. Squalo is a well trained swordsman and assassin
First of all. He is a swordsman! He's the sword emperor for christ sake! He learned different sword styles over the years. Years! Years of dedication.
And he is an assassin. One of the best in the world, Varia quality. (Although I shouldn't bring up Varia quality as Ryohei defeated Lussuria, but that was kind of OK to believe... Since Ryohei trains boxing for years already)
He also knows Shigure Souen... And again: other different styles. He killed the former Varia Boss!
So what I am trying to say: Squalo had the experiene. And got defeated by a middle schooler with practically no experience at all!
That's why I call this fight bullshit! Well at least the outcome.
I don't know if you can understand my way of thinking, but i hope i could at least explain a little bit of it. Sorry if it all seems a little bit messy, but English isn't m first language and I'm a bit tired already.
And to be honest, if we go completely by logic, Varia would have won xD but oh well, the plot has to get going, the main character can't loose.
And believe me I love both characters! Really! But this was just a plot armor thing for me 🙈 which i am mad about.
I am KHR trash again XD

I still call BULLSHIT in the Squalo vs. Yamamoto match!
It felt like he had to win bcs Varia already had 3 rings... Like what? Bullshit!! The Battles could have been handled different!
I would have probably switched the win with Lambo. Although then Varia wouldn't get the Sky Ring. But i don't even think it is that important to the overall story arc.
So it would be:
Sasagawa win. Lambo win. Gokudera lose. Yamamoto lose. Chrome win. Hibari win.
And i might be controversial here... But i think it doesn't matter that they would have 4 rings. Here me out: i think that way bcs of how the Sky Battle is designed. The rings are theoretically all available again.
The most important was and is in this Arc the Sky Battle.
