hi yes hi! i saw ur lovely lovely art piece, the one with a quote from aideomai's nice things? that fic changed my brain chemistry, completely rewired it. i devoured everything else by her, so i was wondering if u coulr rec me some of ur fave drarry's? i love love love fics with a lot of non sexual touching, cuddling and detailed scenes where all they do is just be close / hold each other etc.

From my previous post, and more of that headcanon below:

Months after the war, their rivalry had somewhat softened, evolving into almost-amicable banter and mischief. Once, the Great Hall burst into laughter as two ball-shaped heads wandered the castle. This was a punishment from McGonagall during Transfigurations class, when Harry's misfired spell hit Draco's head, prompting swift retaliation. Surprisingly, Draco kept his buzzcut the next morning, and some days more.

Later, as a couple, Harry would sometimes wake up to see Draco's near-perfect oval head and feel a pang of longing for his platinum-blonde locks. They had always framed his face perfectly, but Harry loved this no less: the feel of his hands over Draco's prickly scalp, the change in the planes of his head, and the barely noticeable ridge from a scar on his temple.

When Draco woke, he’d always tell Harry why he shaved his hair. Sometimes though, Draco would keep to himself, lost in thought as he smooths a nonexistent strand over his ear. During these moments, Harry would find himself reaching for a muggle razor in their bathroom, and then returning to their kitchen with uneven patches. He’d always done a poor job, and Draco would mock him mercilessly before fixing it, a small grin forming on his lips.

“I’m still taller.”

“Only if you tell me what’s on your mind.”

“Fine.”

WIP Snip

Ok so i have mostly finished the long WIP I've been working on for nearly three years. In fact, I'm most of the way through editing the whole thing (all 240k) with only two short scenes left to write. So happy to finally be here! Here's a quick snip of a Hermione POV scene where Draco is helping Harry snd Hermione to escape and she needs to injure him so he looks as though he fought them... it makes sense in-universe i swear.

Draco was still too close to Harry, but Hermione went over to him anyway, arranged him carefully in the dim light so she could be sure that she wouldn’t cause any permanent damage. 

“Hold still,” she instructed him, and raised her wand hand. Draco flinched, then flushed. 

“Sorry,” he said. “I know I’m not very brave about this sort of thing.  I don’t like being at the wrong end of anyone’s wand. Anyway, go on. I’m ready now.”

“Here, let me,” Harry offered, and pushed past Hermione gently. Draco didn’t flinch when Harry lifted his wand, she noticed with irritation, just shook his hair back and smiled brightly. 

“Hello again,” he said to Harry cheerfully, and Harry rolled his eyes fondly and cast with ruthless precision, a vicious Diffindo that tore right through the stupid gauzy shirt Draco was wearing, and opened him up, shallow but nasty-looking, across the meatiest part of his chest, far from any dangerous areas, and then hit him with a quick Incutio that was going to give him a whopper of a shiner. Even weak like this, Harry was terrifying.

“Fucking… ow!” Draco rubbed at his cheekbone resentfully. “Warn a fellow, next time.”

And then from outside they heard the distant rattle of gravel, some angry-sounding voices, and it was all horribly real again. Hermione doused the Lumos instantly, blinking into the blackness, suddenly and newly furious with Harry and his stupid infatuation.

Even now they were whispering to each other, and as her eyes adjusted she could see that Draco had Harry’s face between his hands, and Harry was kissing him, first Draco's mouth and then the palm of each hand, like there was nothing more important in the world.

You articulated a profound truth about our shared community, and it’s the reason why it’s just so beautiful to take part, or simply be part of it. Thank YOU for the works you share with us. Five years, ackkk!!! I cannot be coherent enough, but please have this. It’s me with Wield Me, and all the works you’ve written that I’ve read so far.

The moment i received this email, I just knew that I will be allotting a very specific, nonnegotiable time to lie down and read.

That scene. When Draco thought of the way Harry and Teddy looked at the archway and realized what their mission is. Harry and Draco’s something. That part. Harry. Teddy. Draco’s thoughts. His work. Harry’s leg. How I suddenly had a newfound appreciation for blacksmithing, so artful and intricately described, and other things I wanted to mention, which, by the way, is everything.

Okay. Deep, deep, inhale.

Wield Me is so, so, vivid. I felt cold water run down my spine at the atmosphere and how it flowed so phenomenally. I’m not in the slightest bit kidding when I say I ugly sobbed all the way through. After reading the last word, I slumped, and stared blankly at the wall as I felt all the tugging in my chest. I just can’t believe I’ve read something so divine. Thank you.

Dear @kk1smet, what a delight it was to get this ask. I think many fic writers would agree that one of the nicest things is hearing not just that someone liked their fic, but what they liked about it. it always gives me such a thrill, even now, nearly five years after i wrote my first ever fic (five!!! how???) because it reminds me that fandom is part of a wider tradition of storytelling within a community, of sharing and of giving. to get to chat to people who love these guys as much as i do, and to feel part of something that's more than just me at a laptop writing for myself. plus, a comment like this lets me get to know you a bit more, and find out what makes you tick, and i love that!

truly, i never expect comments, and I never want anyone to feel under pressure to leave a comment. but that just means that when i do get a comment like this, it comes as the most beautiful and thrilling surprise. thank you so much for taking the time to send this, and for all the wonderful art you gift us with.

Though his shout of surprise is stuck in his throat, the sound of his body hitting the ground echoes in his ears. A hand grabs at the cloak and pulls hard. Then, he’s on his back, Draco Malfoy standing over him. “Well now, this is familiar,” Malfoy says, a smirk pulling at his mouth. He crouches down at Harry’s side, pulling at his hair so that Harry's head is angled to face him. “Harry Potter.” His voice is low and drawling and it scuttles over Harry’s skin. “I’m simply dying to know what you're doing here.” Harry’s current predicament is, he can admit, rather dire. Being caught stalking aside, he thinks his nose might be broken. Humiliation licks up his rigid spine, but along with it is a prickle of ill-advised anticipation, a foolish thrill at what Malfoy might do. “You’ve been following me for a while now, haven’t you? I thought I could hear—” Malfoy cuts himself off. Harry hardly registers what Malfoy is saying, caught up in the opportunity to finally look at him up close. Malfoy laughs and the sound crawls up over Harry, gets under his nails. “Merlin you are such a little creep, aren’t you, Harry?” Harry's sure a violent flush must be blooming across his face, not only at the insult but at his body’s reaction to the words, his cock twitching traitorously.
