Geese—I had to.
middle aged harry is prob the keanu reeves of the wizarding world. handsome guy, kinda shaggy looking these days, but cool because he doesn't try to be. very unassuming. kind to everyone. a little bit weird. widely beloved.
You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
hi yes hi! i saw ur lovely lovely art piece, the one with a quote from aideomai's nice things? that fic changed my brain chemistry, completely rewired it. i devoured everything else by her, so i was wondering if u coulr rec me some of ur fave drarry's? i love love love fics with a lot of non sexual touching, cuddling and detailed scenes where all they do is just be close / hold each other etc.
I love this ask, and it’s also the first one I received so thank you for dropping by and for your kind words about my art! Here are some of my faves:
(I did not realize how hard it is to pick, given that I absolutely love everything I have read, so I narrowed it down to a list of 6-ish, and anchored them according to your preferences. I kid you not, the list was initially long, lmk if you’d like to see them all xx
The Silent Auror by Vaysh (1.5k)

Totally agree about aideomai, and the way you described the feeling after reading their works is so on point!! I am always floored and would love to scream about their fics all day.

Inspired by none other than lqtraintracks’ Ten Thousand Reasons Why Not
“That alright?” line keeps repeating in my head. Help. I knew I had to project all the internal combustion into art when I read it last night. Consent. Is. So. Sexy.
Babe
There's something tragic about you
Something so magic about you
Don't you agree?
Lately, all I have are wips that intimidate me, so I tried to do a very quick study to get out from the claws—ended up liking this quite a bit so I thought I’d share it. Happy Friday, everyone!
Draco/Harry, M, 100 words For Day 14: @hdcandyheartsfest’s love letters + @drarrymicrofic's euphoria Also on AO3.
A haiku, from Draco to Harry:
Dat ass though, it is firmly the most gorgeous ass to ever exist.
Draco shakes his head and crosses out the first draft. Something isn’t right.
Your backside, it is plumper than peaches, sweeter than honey. Lovely.
Hmm… nope. Something is still missing. Draco crumbles the piece of parchment and tosses it carelessly on the ground.
Your arse is perfect; I cannot live without it. Please, sit on my face.
Oh, yes. Perfect. Draco attaches it to his owl’s leg and sends it on its way.
Now all he has to do is wait.

Some things had been shaved off
I’m having a lot of buzzcut drarry thoughts today.
This is a beauty.
Taking this as a sign to stop stalling and read Dwelling. I am so hesitant to start it, afraid of the inevitable devastation of yet another work by aideomai. Any words for me before I dive in?
I could not be happier with how this turned out. I used so many new, fun techniques and materials!
The book cloth, oh my god, it's so beautiful. It's Dubletta in aqua/purple. I am mad at myself for messing up my first go at this cover, but it's okay. It's not very expensive and I still have more.
I stenciled the cover. This was the most trying part of the entire process. Last night, I could not for the life of me get the vinyl to cut properly or weed properly or do anything properly, but the first time I tried this morning, it went perfectly. Go figure. The paint is just a craft acrylic in rose gold.
I (sort of) designed and printed the endpapers with my new color printer. I say "sort of" designed because I used the text-to-vector-graphic AI feature in Illustrator. I am generally not a fan of AI artwork, it creeps me out, but I like how this turned out.
I used toner foil on the chapter headers. SO SHINY! (I got a Scotch laminator, and some toner foil from Amazon and it worked perfectly.)
I would say that I also sewed endbands for the first time, but my attempt was not successful. Oh well, nothing wrong with premade ones! Next time...
I also got "creative" with the page numbers and title/author on the inside pages. I am not the most creative typesetter, so this is exciting for me, ha ha.
Everything also went in so neatly and square, and I am just really happy right now. :)
Body and title and well, actually, all of the fonts in the book are Corundum of some sort.
it’s k and i kinda draw art on ao3 | sketches here and on twthink it’s a faulty askbox
