preeettty sure the "reason to live" dazai promised akutagawa was atsushi.
akutagawa stopped killing because atsushi told him to. akutagawa gave his life so atsushi would keep living. atsushi couldn't wholeheartedly attack akutagawa because he was scared of really hurting him and never doubted he was still in there because he saved a girl.
atsushi knew akutagawa was still in there because akutagawa, rabid dog of the port mafia, didn't kill.

The fact that Sand is the one playing dress up with Ray makes me so happy. Sand has the stronger sense of self and passion and fashion and the choices he makes for himself reflect that as well as the way Ray sees himself. Ray's identity is as a burden but Sand sees him as so much more so of course Sand is the one to dress Ray up in clothing that brightens him and lights him up, all the colors and patterns.
They really are the peak mutual pining yaoi huh
After reading "He Bled For Us" and "The Path To Freedom" by @creantzy, I can't stop thinking about different scenarios of Nikolai and Fyodor's first meeting. I love the idea that it could have happened in their childhood
