Ao3 has a lot of Crucible fanfics but there's a good amount on Wattpad too and one day I got curious and decided to read them.

One of them was a ProctHale fic and there was this one chapter from it where Proctor and Hale make out sloppily before Hale pushes Proctor away and is like "We can't! We're are both men, this love is forbidden!" And Proctor's like "But Mr. Hale, don't you want to cleanse me of my sins?" Before more argument happens between them which leads it into ending with Proctor randomly saying "I say god is dead!"

It lives in my head rent free for no reason of which I know.

So my video production class had posted an assignment where the entire point is to take any movie you like and make a trailer for it to make it seem like a completely different genre. And since I'm obsessed with The Crucible you KNOW I'm bouta do it

Now the genre that The Crucible is historical drama, HOWEVER, what I plan to do is making it a historical romance.

Now obviously, I'm not pairing up John Proctor with Abigail, I'm not a fan of that age gap. But I didn't wanna go the expected route and do him and his wife, I not only wanna make it entertaining and unexpected, but self-indulgent.

So. You know what I'm planning. I'm going to use Reverend Hale as the love interest. Why? It's funny and I'm too yaoi pilled to not to.

Do you guys ever think about if the 1996 movie adaptation of The Crucible was made 20 years later it could've gotten the Hamilton fandom treatment?

Like I know there's already an absurd amount of fanficiton but like could you imagine going on YouTube and getting recommended an angsty Abigail and Proctor animatic? Or like going on tumblr and seeing people call Reverend Hale a "smol boi" or something?

Everyday I mourn that we never got to see Elizabeth's perspective on John and Abigail's affair in more detail. I wish we could've got to see her reaction when she found out. Her sadness, her anger, her throwing out Abigail, her scolding John for his actions and cowardness, and most of all, her thought process of how she came to the conclusion to forgive him instead of ratting him out in the court. All I want is them fighting and arguing, is that too much to ask for?
