Yemen asked the West to stop aiding in the genocide of the Palestinian people and uphold international law. The West said no.
Then Yemen conducted sanctions and blockaded a sea bordering their nation to prevent the illegal sail of those funding and abetting genocide and did so nonviolently while upholding the very international law that West refused to uphold. The West bombed them.
Yeah.

[id: screenshots of tiktok captions. the images say, “but the only reason we still love princess diana is because she did not have the time to disappoint us.”]
begging queer kids to read up on princess diana’s involvement with the community. yes, she was a rich, pretty monarch. yes, she died young.
but the reason why queer people love her is because she used her privilege during the aids crisis to advocate for sick queer men, when very few others would - much less someone of her status.
diana spent years advocating for the health and care of queer people with hiv/aids. in 1987, at the height of the epidemic, she opened the first specialist clinic dedicated to treating aids patients (the first clinic of it’s kind in the uk).
she also fought public hysteria by hugging and shaking bare hands with aids patients, at a time when aids was thought to be spread by skin to skin contact. not only that, she visited patients in the clinic regularly and even comforted them through their sickness.
and when queen elizabeth told her to try focusing on “something more pleasant”?
diana ignored her and kept fighting.
and this is only her work towards the aids crisis. she publicly called out the royal family, brought attention to numerous world issues, and was known as an advocate for empathy and kindness. she’s known and loved as the people’s princess for good reason
While every force available in the world is searching for the 5 people in the oceangate submersible, a boat filled with mostly Syrian and Pakistani refugees sank under still “unknown” circumstances off the coast of Peloponnisos, Greece (with the coast guard present). More than 600 people drowned but guess which of the two is making headlines
For anyone that needs to be reminded 💕
I feel some may need to hear this as much as I do.

Okay but scariusaquarius writes one of the best leon fics I’ve read, I love them so much 😭
ID Leon when you get a flavoured chapstick mMMMMM- i've got a cherries' one 👀 like the man can't stop kissing you especially when you reapply throughout your day, Leon just HAS to make out with you
nO TAKE BACKS😭
Leon's favorite flavor was cherry.
He figured that out the first time you had ever changed up your chapstick, grabbing a cherry one instead of your usual that you always bought, and when he had kissed you in the morning after you had applied it, the man couldn't stop licking his lips.
It tasted so sweet; just like the cherry pie his grandmother would make for Thanksgiving when she was still alive. Leon had been craving for another taste since he had departed from you in the halls of the DSO to begin working.
When he saw you again, your smile bright as he approached you, Leon didn't hesitate to kiss you again. His hand cupped your cheek, lips pressed firmly against your soft lips, and he realized with glee that you had repplied the chapstick.
Leon had pulled away, licking his lips all the while as you became shy, pressing a hand against his chest and teasing that the two of you were still at work. Leon couldn't care.
His favorate flavor was cherry, so he wasn't going to refuse himself from such a sweet treat.
Every time Leon passed you by or you had to swing by to drop stuff off for him, Leon would give you such firm kisses, licking his lils before sending you on your way.
When the day was done, the two of you meeting up to travel home, Leon went in for anther cherry kiss before your finger stopped him.
"What is it?"
"If you wanted to use my chapstick, all you had to do was ask."
You were holding up the pink stick, a subtle smile on your lips, and Leon chuckled, pulling you close.
"It doesnt taste as good when I don't get to kiss it off your lips."
"Oh, please. You're such a flirt. Take the chapstick, would you? I bought another stick just for you."
Leon shook his head, taking the stick before kissing you deeply, this time rubbing his tongue against your lip and smirking when you softly sighed against him.
"Hm, I'll keep risking professionalism, but thanks for the offer~"
On Monday, 26-year-old Daniel Penny was acquitted after killing Jordan Neely, a desperate Black homeless man on the subway, on the grounds that he was trying to protect others. On the same day, police detained 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, who is suspected of killing the CEO of a company that has denied thousands of life-saving healthcare claims.
Penny walks free after killing a man victim to the system. What will be the verdict for Mangione, who is suspected of killing a man symbolic of it?
As many have remarked, Brian Thompson’s tenure as CEO of insurance giant UnitedHealthcare was grisly. Thompson (alongside other higher-ups) allegedly conducted insider trading, selling millions of dollars of stock upon learning that the Department of Justice re-opened an antitrust investigation into UnitedHealth. While the company was on an upward profit swing, it has been awash in allegations and revelations of limiting mental health care coverage via algorithm, denying healthcare services needed after hospitalization at drastic rates via artificial intelligence, and denying insurance claims at a starkly high rate.
A gun killed Thompson. Paperwork has killed thousands.
Each case, obviously, is its own. But in each, contradictions of who is human, questions of who merits sympathy, and inquiries of what sort of society we tolerate, ring loud and clear.
