Alright, dear followers, I have announcement to make. I, again, am drowning in school work and the final exams are coming. So, please, be patient with me. School takes a lot of time, I really wish I could draw the pages for you faster. But well, school is pushing to be the first in the priorities list. It's pushing so hard, but I'm trying to push it back, but, oh lord is that hard.

Alright y'all, so sonic the hedgehog 2 might get some competition when it releases. There’s an untitled Disney movie who’s also releasing that same day.

Sonic Movie 2 Rant✨

Don’t worry, this doesn’t contain any spoilers ;)

This was just supposed to be a review of the movie but it quickly turned into a rant :/

Please excuse my chaotic ramblings. Now without further ado, I give you my definitive Sonic Movie 2 experience✨

My entire experience leading up to the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has been an adventure I will never forget! From the very first trailer back in December, Paramount promised us a true to form Sonic Movie. They, along with the Sonic Movie Twitter account, have been hyping it up for months with multiple trailer drops, advertisements, gifs, and posters. They even confirmed the production of a 3rd movie months before the 2nd could even hit theaters!

They promised us action, humor, heartfelt storytelling; a quality film that Sonic fans could enjoy.

And they delivered ALL of it AND MORE!!

There were references to the games (specifically Sonic 1,2,3&K and the Adventure games) and subtle nods to other media like Sonic X and the comics. They even mentioned the multiverse! 👀 (an idea established by Sonic Prime)

You can tell a lot of heart went into making this film.❤️ They took the lore deeply into account, all the while staying true to the original story set by the first movie. But that’s not all! They also introduced so many new ideas, some that shake the very foundation this series sits on! (And that’s no exaggeration! You HAVE to see this movie!)

Now, if I had to criticize the film for one thing, it would be for its more “Hollywood” type choices. There were a few adult jokes thrown in there that just felt- unnecessary. Eh, I guess you gotta keep the parents in the audience entertained somehow.

Still, that doesn’t excuse the movie’s overuse of potty humor 😑 just… no.

Yes, there were pop-culture references (just like in the first movie) but I can at least understand why they included them. First and foremost, the film’s target audience is kids. They probably felt the need to include these kinds of references to reach that demographic.

However, I can’t help but feel like they already accomplished this goal (without the need to include references that would seriously date the movie.) I mean, just look at our core cast of characters! We’ve got Sonic, a rambunctious kid who’s a little too reckless for his own good. Tails, boy genius who feels like a misfit. And Knuckles, hot-tempered and comically serious. 😂

These characters were designed for children to relate to, no pop-culture references needed! (Well, at least not as many)

Aside from that little nitpick, the movie was awesome! The characters felt real and dynamic, the jokes landed (especially the ones involving Knuckles), and the climax was EPIC!!✨

There were themes tied to family, friendship, growing up, and taking responsibility. Really wholesome stuff 😌

I liked that the film wasn’t afraid to dive into some more serious storytelling. We got a wide range of emotions out of the characters. There was this one line Sonic said while he was on the boat with Tom and MAN that one hit me hard. (You’ll see what I mean)

As a Sonic fan, it’s refreshing to see the property get treated with respect. Paramount listened to our criticisms, took our advice, and considered what we wanted to see.

I remember when this poster first got revealed, a bunch of people on Twitter expressed their disappointment that Colleen O’Shaughnessy wasn’t among the names advertised.

Not long after that, a Tails focused poster featuring Colleen’s name hit the scene! :D

Everyone was super happy to see Colleen get the recognition she deserved 😊

I also remember seeing a tweet (that I can’t seem to find for the life of me) commenting on how it was such a huge missed opportunity that Paramount hadn’t used the 1990s SEGA slogan “Welcome to the Next Level” in their campaigns for Sonic Movie 2.

And then BAM!

We got this poster inspired by the Sonic 2 box art displaying that very slogan!

Coincidence? I think not!

(The people behind the marketing of this movie are truly brilliant!)

This, along with the Sonic Movie Twitter account retweeting fanart and actively interacting with the community, really shows that they care about what we think.

And now, we get to the point of my rant…

SEGA, (Sonic Team specifically) you better be taking notes because what Paramount accomplished here wasn’t cheap! They didn’t fill their advertisements with false promises and they didn’t simply pander to nostalgia and call it a day. They earned every cent from that movie’s revenue and they rightfully earned our trust and respect.

Paramount just did you a huge favor. This movie and its predecessor just brought in a new crowd, a new generation of Sonic fans, and now it’s up to you not to disappoint.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the community as collectively excited as they were for Sonic Movie 2! There was so much hype!

Paramount has proven that Sonic still has the potential to be a huge icon, even bigger than he already is! But that won’t happen if you let this opportunity slip by.

I want to see a change in the way Sonic as an IP is treated from this point forward. You get another chance with Sonic Frontiers. No more false promises Sonic Team, no more rushed development or poorly thought out storytelling. No more cheap cash grabs and pandering to nostalgia. Sonic deserves better. We deserve better.

I’m not sharing this with you to boast by any means. Sometimes I seriously question why I got picked. But the screening is only 2 days away and I can barely hold in my excitement!!😆💖💖💖

This is the first time I’ve ever won something like this and I’m super grateful. I’m bringing my mom as my guest because I refuse to see a movie without her lol! And I love my mum😊💕

Transformers Prime has a disappointing fandom

I have never been so disappointed with a fandom as much as now…

After being a part of fandoms like The Owl House and Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and having absorbed the endless anguish of their most tragic characters artistically reflected by their fandom, I can say that it is disrespectful to Transformers Prime that it is not made enough anguish.

Where are the Bumblebee fanfics, fanarts, analysis?

HE HAS ALL THE JUICY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRAGIC CHARACTER WITH EXPLOITABLE ANGUISH:

1) In several chapters the other bots express themselves and refer to him as much younger than them. HE IS A CHILD SOLDIER.

2) He was interrogated and tortured by the leader of the enemy group, with whom he had to continue fighting constantly.

3) As a result of the torture his larynx was destroyed, and the level of damage was so brutal that his voice box could not be repaired for millennia.

4) He was forced to leave his home planet because it had been destroyed and he had to take refuge on another planet. Now he is not only a child soldier, but he is a political refugee.

5) One of his comrades in arms, friend and family member died without him being able to do anything to prevent it. Obviously Bumblebee has lost many more teammates and friends in the past, considering how small Team Prime is.

6) He had to watch his leader/father figure almost die from an infection and the only way to save him was by entering the mind of the guy who tortured and incapacitated him to obtain information.

7) He was possessed by that same guy (seriously, Megatron leaves the kid alone) and forced him to hurt two of his friends, and everything else Bumblebee went through in the middle of the possession is up for interpretation, FANDOM WAKE UP.

8) THE SAME GUY WHO INTERROGED, TORTURED, MUTILATED, INCAPACITATED AND POSSESSED HIM, attacked him for fun and on the spot fatally injured his best friend/protege/younger human brother. Then the child abuser made fun of him in his face for it.

9) Not even 24 hours had passed when the unmentionable went to his hiding place, his SAFE PLACE, in search of an alliance, which he then betrayed because he kidnapped Bumblebee's father figure in front of his eyes.

10) He is mutilated again, he temporarily loses his T-cog, his feelings of insecurity within the group deepen slightly and when he goes to retrieve his T-cog he sees how it is almost destroyed. No one talks about Bumblebee literally holding one of his organs in his hands, it's like you see someone hugging his lung or something.

YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN, that apathy towards oneself and dehumanization (?) has POTENTIAL, if the child did not mind having an organ of HIS in his hands, I can already imagine how he reacts and treats his physical and emotional wounds. He is the type of character who hides his injuries, jokes about his traumas and in doing so traumatizes everyone around him, has a terrible sleep schedule due to nightmares, frequently dissociates, and has zero sense of self-preservation (canon).

11) This is not a trauma, but it also has the potential to cause distress in the fact that he was probably used to getting more attention for being the youngest, but suddenly this guy, Smokescreen, the same age as him, appears, and Everyone expects Bumblebee to be the one to guide the rookie, so every time the rookie makes a mistake, it will be Bumblebee's fault. Also, the new guy who never actively participated in the war, compared to Bee, who was born and fought in it all his life, turns out to be the one chosen to be the next Prime. Actually?

12) The base where he lived most of his time on earth was destroyed. It may not sound that bad, but as someone who recently lost their home to armed conflict, I can tell you that it hurts a lot.

13) He was separated from his team for a few days and when he found one of his teammates, his second father figure tells him to go away, to stay away and discourages him. Bumblebee must have felt bad because the one who convinced Ratchet to help them was not him, but Raf.

14) Other traumatic things must have happened that I don't remember, the last time I saw the series was in 2022, okAY?

15) They kidnapped their second father figure.

16) THE SAME ONE WHO INTERROGED HIM, TORTURED, MUTILATED, DISABLED, POSSESSED, HARMED HIM AND HIS FRIEND FOR FUN, KIDNAPPED HIS TWO PARENTS AND DESTROYED HIS PLANET, shot him three times, almost four, in the chest and killed him temporarily.

17) Megatron deserved it and it was more than satisfying and well done that it was Bumblebee who killed him, put an end to his power and the war, but knowingly killing can be traumatizing. Bumblebee killing Megatron in retaliation is also an ignored trauma.

18) He had to see Megatron's revived body being controlled by a god of destruction, who seemed to have something personal against him. At one point during the chase, Bumblebee thought his friends were dead.

19) He became the team leader in Optimus' absence, he was inexperienced and as a result he had two anxiety attacks in the same scene.

20) Optimus, his father figure, sacrifices himself to revive the planet.

so whERE ARE MY FANFICS? If anyone has recommendations, wants to write something individually or wants to collaborate, please write to me. This can't stay like this friends, Transformers Prime is not going to return as we would like, we the fandom have to bring it back.
