Just a friendly reminder that Ranboo is BEYOND incredible-
Can we really talk about what Ranboo is doing and why it's so important?
Ranboo has reached #1 on Twitch, and he did it through a charity stream. As viewers, we gave Ranboo our love and support through his journey, and recognizing that he was about to hit a milestone, he chose to give back to us.
It's no secret at all that Ranboo's audience is mostly LGBT+ viewers. He's talked about it several times, and has spoken up about how he appreciates the community (even acknowledging neopronouns, which so many big names never even do). Ranboo's streams have become a comfort to so many young members of the community, since they can find comfort in how friendly and accepting he is. They feel safe in his chat and they feel safe enjoying his content. The same thing goes for youths with troubling mental health as well.
Ranboo is normalizing this to a lot of kids who watch him. It's okay to be part of the LGBT+ community, it's okay to struggle with mental health. He, himself, is still a minor, so he definitely can understand how stressful everything is for all of us.
With all the mass support Ranboo has been receiving lately, he decided to try and reach a goal that many of us have wanted him to reach for a while. But he didn't do that through normal means.
Ranboo cares about his audience and appreciates how much everybody has helped him through his journey, and because he recognized how many people of the LGBT+ community there were, he found something that would help us and many others like us in return.
The Trevor Project focuses on suicide prevention for LGBT+ youths, something that Ranboo knows his audience might need help with. He's giving back to the whole LGBT+ community by donating his stream money and raising awareness for this service.
And because he reached his goal while promoting the charity, many news articles have taken note while writing down Ranboo's achievement. The service is being boosted, so many others can find it as well, even if they don't know about Ranboo.
So many donations have come in thanking Ranboo for what he's doing, which shows how much this really means to people.
When I was younger, I had a hard time with my identity. Knowing that there might be kids out there struggling with theirs, but seeing Ranboo show support for these people, and realizing that it's okay to feel this way, it makes me so happy.
Thank you Ranboo.
