dear USAmericans,
VOTING WORKS!!!
French people showed up, French people voted, turnout was higher today than it has been since 1997, and we kicked the far right to 3rd place
a week ago, the far right was the biggest party in France, we were slated for a far right parliament, prime minister, and government
this week, we voted against them en masse and we won!
VOTING WORKS!
you're up next in November! it's very rare we get to say this, but this one time, take example on the French! show up and vote!
because VOTING WORKS!
Every single person who's ever been associated with trek could tell me I'm wrong and I would still believe unwaveringly that this is Jonathan Archer's official Starfleet file photo
Today I really procrastinated, and by the time I started drawing I had only two hours up until midnight, here in Romania. So...I first tried to draw a rat, but I quickly realized it was would be complicated. Then I started a raven drawing, and gave up. And then started a toad drawing and gave up. Up until finally I decided to just draw an autumn leaf(a red oak leaf to be more precise).
As a Romanian, I feel the same.
I'm sorry to all my American friends and followers who are going through the pit of despair right now. I am too, because i feel like a fundamental part of my worldview is gone.
I procrastinated and got in a hurry again, and had to draw this in just 20 minutes. Eh. Could be worse with how I hurried.
Honestly, the more you think about it, the less sense it makes.
I mean, seriously. Literally most scientific discoveries were counterintuitive, and going against the consensus and common sense of the time. How can they be proven in the first place then?
Mage: The Ascension's consensus reality sounds like a neat idea until you have to answer why it only affects some parts of the world but not others. If magic is difficult because people don’t believe in it, why doesn’t the weight of belief make the 10% of your brain myth a reality? Explanations are possible, but they’re awkward and cumbersome.

Protest art in light of the recent elections in Romania that gave way to a rise of neo-legionnaire wave filled with hatred. I made this illustration to express the desire for resistance in the face of hatred and uncertainty. Art is political (EN)
Today I procrastinated a little, but also worked a lot on other stuff.
So anyway, here is a small October scene I drew.
Being a fan of stories that revolve around robots or AI in the 21st century is so weird now. Like how do I tell people I'm the biggest fictional robot appreciator and the biggest real life robot hater
This is more complicated. According to many forms(such as Catholicism), magic does not exist, and believing in sorcery/magic and in witches is heresy, for only God has the ability to change the rules of reality or mess with them.
This is also not limited to Catholicism. The Eastern Roman Empire and its Orthodox Church classified belief in witchcraft as a form of superstition, and eventually even classified belief in witchcraft as a heresy. Not practicing it, actually believing it was a thing in the first place.
It would be more accurate to say that the belief that „using magic is blasphemous” is a more protestant belief, where the official doctrine in other parts was „witchcraft does not exist”.
I think we need to appreciate this part of Brennan Lee Mulligan's WIRED interview a lot more:
"The evangelical right in this country needs to manufacture outrage to hold onto its voting block. [The satanic panic about DnD] was arbitrary, as the targets of their outrage always are. Fight the power."
DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.
I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can't bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.
Look at them! They do war dances.
