METROID DREAD
Metroid Dread β Coming October 8th! (Nintendo Switch)
For Metroid: Samus Returns, Nintendo teamed up with MercurySteam on development. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the same thing is happening with Metroid Dread. Nintendoβs Yoshio Sakamoto confirmed today that MercurySteam is working on the new Switch title as well.
If you were honestly wanting Prime 4 over a 2d Metroid that takes place after Fusion I hope they find a way to give your smoothbrain some wrinkles. πππ

Time to shill!
If you're a fan of board/card games, especially ones like Munchkin or Magic: The Gathering, you should really really consider supporting Edmund McMillen's "The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem"!
It's a MASSIVE expansion to the base Four Souls game which came out 2 years ago. It's based on the Binding of Isaac videogame but you really don't need to know anything about that to enjoy this game!!
It's a 1-4+ player game massively inspired by, as I said, Munchkin and M:TG! You battle monsters (and your fellow players), collect coins to buy treasure which gives you different abilities, and use loot, curses, room effects, and a whole bunch of other stuff to create chaos and try to collect four Souls before anyone else and win the game!
You can get the I believe 700+ card Requiem expansion, base game, previous Four Souls+ expansion, AND the previously base game KS-exlusive Gold Box expansion, plus all the unlocked stretch goal extras, all in one beautiful Big Boi Box, for only $110!
But I absolutely recommend you go even higher! The KS also features a massive assortment of merch! All at discounted KS-exclusive prices! Pins, plushies, t-shirts, extra copies of the game, and a previously unbuyable Pink Box edition of Edmund's other card game Tapeworm, and SO! MUCH! MORE!
You can add money to your pledge separately from your tier to buy any of it that you want from backerkit after the campaign ends, or you can pledge $800 and get ALL OF IT at an even BIGGER discount, PLUS all the tasty little extras from the tiera below (plus some $800 exclusives yet to be revealed ππ)
And tonight a whole new very limited tier is being dropped! Where you can get uh... well... Edmund McMillen's bath water... People asked for this a lot π
But!!! Let's not forget about Stretch Goals! The bread and butter of any good Kickstarter campaign
There are 3 types of stretch goals for this KS!
Financial, Backers, and Social!
The Financial Goals are exactly what you expect! Raise enough money, something unlocks!
And so far the game's raised over $5.1M! We've unlocked the previously mentioned pins, new heart and tear token pieces for the game, massive intricate colouring pages by Tom Bunk and Samuele Gabbanini, and more! And there are currently 2 more really exciting unlocks waiting at ~$5.3M and $6.66M! Help us get there!
The Backer goals are:
For every 1k backers the KS gains, an alt version of an existing card with new incredible Guest Art is unlocked! We've unlocked 40 so far, why not more! And at ~$5.3M, they're all gonna be reworked into their own mechanically unique variants! Basically 20+ whole new cards to play with, so close!
And finally the Social Goals! The most fun part of the Kickstarter:
On Edmund's Twitter (@edmundmcmillen), he's been releasing lists of 5 tasks for fans to complete IRL! And for every list completed, a pack of WARP ZONE cards are unlocked! These are cards that crossover with outside IPs! Adding new characters/monsters/items/etc. in from all your other favourite games/shows/movies/more! It's a fantastic way to get involved and support the Kickstarter if you're a bit too low on funds! :) Head over there now and see what you can do
We've unlocked cards from Spelunky, from Hollow Knight, from Cave Story, even stuff like Salad Fingers, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and eceryone's favourite flash game, QWOP!
Truly it's the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate of card games ππ
It took 8 years for there to be a release from the time of Super Metroid to Metroid Fusion. It's taken almost 20 years for a new, non remake mainline release. After 15 years of development hell, we are finally getting Metroid Dread. It's been a long time coming.
