JUSTIFICATION:

Alex Ross's 2018-2021 cover run on the Immortal Hulk series (2/2).
So wait are livestock guardian dogs to their flocks like… Clark Kent among the residents of Smallville? He’s been here since he was a baby, we all know him, and he’s… generally one-of-us shaped, uh, approximately. And then when something goes wrong he suddenly leaps into action and does some terrifying impossible shit none of us could do. And then comes back home and settles in like nothing happened and he’s one of us again.
I really dig the way Immortal Hulk expanded on the idea of the Hulk transformations as metaphor for the emotional states of the characters, and I think my favourite subtle way this is done is how Bruce Banner's transformations are these ugly, messy painful ordeals that look like he and the Hulk are wrestling for control and clawing to be free of each other.
And meanwhile all of Betty's transformations are instantaneous, happening in the cuts between panels with no transition stage because the line between her and Harpy isn't just thinner, there IS no line.
Don't listen to him, he is actually happy that the baby looks like Superman and not like him
