Had this idea in my head for a while and the only way to get rid of it was to draw it
Basically what if Tommy and Tubbo visited the egg some time after their first visit but Tubbo was exposed to it for too long and Tommy didn’t notice until it was too late because he’s immune-

one of my favorite aspects of tubbo's character to think about is his relationship with l'manberg because, at the heart of it, he was closest to what wilbur had claimed l'manberg to be at the start. furthermore, he was the person who witnessed the closest to l'manberg in its entirety; he was there near the very start and fought in the revolution, he was there for manburg era and schlatt's rule, and of course he was there for new l'manberg because he was the literal president during that era. he died in the final control room as part of the original 4. He worked for and died to schlatt. He watched l'manberg blow up during the sixteenth and helped rebuild it after. He was part of the butcher army and techno's execution. and finally, he was there for doomsday. At the very start, wilbur's propaganda and selling point for l'manberg's independence as the "good guys" was centered around the fact that they used words instead of weapons and armor, unlike dream smp members who almost constantly walked around in full netherite. tubbo, as a character, was the closest embodiment to what l'manberg's virtue of "words, not weapons" was SUPPOSED to mean because tubbo CAN fight but actively tried not to. his fighting ability was shown in the first war when he stockpiled resources & tried to portal-trap dream and also now, having developed nuclear warheads in snowchester. (However, what happened in snowchester was a result of him feeling that nonviolence was no longer an option after doomsday) as president, HIS major decisions were centered around avoiding violence whereas Wilbur actively incited conflict. During his term, his most important decision was tommy's exile. I'm not going to argue whether it was the "right" decision, but essentially, he had done it to AVOID war. He could've chosen violence and followed tommy's lead like fundy and quackity had, but he refused to. And leading up to the decision, he had constantly negotiated for tommy's probation instead of becoming aggressive and attacking dream, which is quite literally the definition of "use words, not violence". out of all the decisions he made during his presidency, that decision was completely, 100% his own. Butcher army had been Quackity's idea, and since tubbo had just exiled his best friend and been compared to the tyrant who made him organize his own execution for it AND there was a majority vote in his cabinet for butcher army, he couldn't override it or shut it down without risking being compared to schlatt Again. Overall, decisions Tubbo made on his Own were centered around the ACTUAL peaceful and nonviolent ideals wilbur had advertised at the start, & everyone was allowed in new l'manberg, including puffy and ranboo who were welcomed despite being american (unlike wilbur who was adamant on l'manberg being Exclusively European)
Ultimately, tubbo's nonviolence failed because the dream smp of New L'manberg was very different from the dream smp at the time of l'manberg's initial creation; unfortunately, new l'manberg, or more specifically tubbo, was trying to be peaceful in a world where violence had been normalized and even revered, which is ultimately why Tubbo, as dream said, ended up being "no president at all"; he chose to be peaceful in a server that demanded violence and bloodshed and ended up being consumed by it(see Butcher Army). Thinking about it now, Tubbo's New L'manberg might have worked in early dream smp era because it would've been a peaceful nation in a peaceful world, but alas.
adding on to how tubbo was the only one there for The Most of l'manberg's existence: because he was so closely related to it, his development also had consistent parallels to l'manberg's development. dsmp!Tubbo has trouble standing his ground, he got pushed around a lot and was forced into different roles as a result, much like how l'manberg's role changed based on those who had power over it; when l'manberg was in a revolutionary war, tubbo was a revolutionary soldier fighting for it. Like how tubbo was blown up at manburg's president's will for not being what schlatt had wanted him to be(a loyal citizen and right hand man turned traitor), l'manberg was blown up by its original president for not being what wilbur had wanted it to be(a safe space for his friends turned into a nation stuck in a struggle for power). and, as mentioned before, when tubbo had control of new l'manberg, they were both peaceful, but when quackity and dream began taking control, they both were converted back to violence and new l'manberg was ultimately destroyed(which is also why it would have made a tragic amount of sense for tubbo to have died on doomsday with the nation he grew up with and dedicated all his time and effort for the same way wilbur and schlatt did on 11/16)
tubbo and new l'manberg were also both used by others for their power; dream used tubbo and big q used new l'manberg while tubbo had been trying to make new l'manberg a Home (which he's doing now w/ snowchester, but with less nonviolence because that clearly Didn't Work). Tubbo's proximity to l'manberg and its development is why, as unfortunate as it would've been, it would've made sense for tubbo to have died with the country he had fought for and grown with.
his dedication to l'manberg was also likely related to how l'manberg had been his only home from the start of the first war after his original house was burned down by sapnap for the second and final time(what is it with tubbo and his homes getting destroyed, being rebuilt, and then getting destroyed Again but Worse and permanently?); because he knew what it felt like to be unsafe and lost, he wanted new l'manberg to be welcome and safe for anyone who needed it because that's what wilbur had probably originally wanted deep down beneath the facade that he did it for power and power only.
