So y'all remember one of the very first scenes in bsd, right?

Yanno, the one Kunikida's kind of disgusted bcz Atsushi's "shamelessly eating so much food with his money" and calls Atsushi a brat but pays for him anyways and then Atsushi mentions he's a poor jobless orphan and it's one of their first interactions after originally meeting whilst Kunikida was on the job and Kunikida has no idea he's soon going to be Atsushi's superior at the detective agency?

Yeah well

Headcanon that anytime anyone in the Agency gets a job they don’t feel comfortable taking, they’ll say Kunikida said no.

Even Ranpo and Yosano who are his superiors will just shrug like well I’d like to help but, Kunikida looked it over and has declined it.

Kunikida doesn’t know about it for the longest of time until Atsushi slips up and says it with him there.

Fortunately Kunikida, while confused agreed with him because I don’t want you taking such a task.

There were many conversations had later and it concluded with Kunikida saying to make let him know on such occasions.

Especially the teens.

Kunikida was surprised by it but he is rather touched that they trust him to take care of them like that.

And he vows to examine the cases they get through carefully so no one’s sent out on a case they aren’t comfortable with taking.

One time Fukuzawa got a call to meet with a rather unsavoury individual and without missing a beat simply said “I’ve consulted my second and I’m afraid I must decline your offer.”

I finally decided to come back to this au after a lengthy hiatus from it, why did I suddenly come back to it? I just recently got a tattoo for myself and it reminded me of this thing I made so why not improve it since I'm bsd obsessed again.

As intimidating as the place is, the people there are fairly welcoming

Located across the street from the ADA

Rumours say the flower shop is a front for the owner to hide crime activity

Hirotsu and Kouyou have worked in the shop the longest and both know a lot more about the place

My favourite way to have Atsushi and Akutagawa bicker is Akutagawa being calm while Atsushi’s like 3 seconds away from tearing off his own head.

And I 100% blame Bsd Wan for this because that’s just basically the coming in through the window bit.

I love it because it has both them act like each other.

Calm is not a word one uses to describe Akutagawa. He has a short temper, he’s moody and the single most pettiest bitch in this entire series.

While Atsushi is generally the level headed and voice of reason more often than not. He’s less likely to yell as he is mouth off his own comments.

And so it’s fun to have Akutagawa be the calm, level headed one in the situation. Maybe even have him drop insults under his breath.

While Atsushi’s the pissed off one about to lose his shit over something that probably isn’t even that important.

It works because we see them act like that with each other. We see them argue and bicker and banter and take turns with those roles.

And it gives us an Atsushi who feels comfortable to express his anger. It gives us an Akutagawa who doesn’t feel like it’s some kind of battle he has to win no matter what.

Also it’s funny.

It’s funny to imagine people seeing them bicker and be confused when they don’t act the way they think they will.

Chuuya (mostly) being a law-abiding citizen despite the convenience of his ability and his motorcycle until the situation calls for it The idea that at any time an emergency strikes wherever they are at any given time, Chuuya will just start scaling buildings himself or with his motorcycle so he's not inconvenienced by traffic and red lights while the ability-less are stuck waiting in traffic and forced to watch Chuuya blitzing by on the buildings Chuuya waiting in traffic when an emergency strikes and he floats himself and his bike out of traffic to take a shortcut and everyone just. watches. He's enjoying the breeze on his face as he's riding the buildings, shouting 'Yeah' the entire time
