I'm a literal cat on his way to steal yo girl
Four my beloved ❤️❤️❤️
Y'all should see how my face positively lights up every time I see the dark hour cutscene when I didn't decide to go to Tartarus because that usually means I get to see Pharos and I love this strange eldritch child. He just shows up, says something vague and ominous, smiles about being friends, and dips. It's amazing, thank you for making sure I know when the full moon is. It's completely redundant because I see the deadline constantly but your efforts are appreciated because you're trying to help you strange eldritch child.
Idk how obvious this is but I have like, three scrapped beginnings of lbl. The sky arc I already posted all I had of it, but this was going to be the new beginning, focused around warriors, but of course, the story got too complicated and I decided to just scrap the whole thing. I figured there’s no reason to hide it anymore. It’s not canon to the story but I’m sure y’all will enjoy seeing it anyways :)
Theatre kid Joker agenda spotted in the wild, absolutely correct and perfect idea ❤️
The whole outfit, the mask, his tendency to pull his gloves, the acrobatics, he's described as a "show-off" in one of the beginning cutscenes, he has theater kid written all over him. Shadow Okumura even calls him "pompous," to which he probably responded with a smug smile.
Had Shido not gotten him arrested, he would have become the darling of the stage, name spread far and wide for his theatrics and exuberance in every detail. He would have put on the best musical this town had ever seen. He would have stolen heart upon heart, in a slightly different way. If Shujin had a drama program, he would have been running it within the week, regardless of his criminal record.
At some point in time, he probably began reenacting plays in the attic, occasionally halting production after getting a call from Sojiro asking him what the hell he's doing. Futaba would have watched every second from her surveillance system. Had he discovered his true calling, he may have become warped by the allure of the stage, only to develop a Palace of his own against all odds. His appearance in it would constantly be changing to match whatever character he's adopted at the moment, even switching what language he's speaking.
Joker would have been a theater kid. He could have been the avatar of all theater kids.
Guess who's gonna go down the rabbit hole of coloring their copy of the Four Swords manga
Ok I look at a lot of Link AUs, and a lot of people like to make all the different links have very different looks. So for me, because he's my favorite link in my favorite game, here's sky.
I love him so much I would kill for him you are not allowed to dislike Skyward sword in my presence when there is this amazing lil guy in it
I get Akechi is a character not everybody is gonna like but it’s a little bothersome seeing people who don’t like him water his personality down to yaoi murder boy and. While that certainly is part of it (and I have talked about the misogyny in the Persona fandom at length and will again) but to me at least, the reason Akechi is so appealing as a character is that he’s the imperfect victim. He was used and abused like all the other thieves, but he doesn’t express it in a productive way like they did. He lashed out, he hurt others who were hurting, he threw away the person he’d grown closest too. And in the end, the story and characters still say that he was worth saving. That his death was a tragedy. That even after all he did, the thieves still agree the abuse he faced was monstrous. He gets to be the imperfect victim, and the game still asks you to remember that he still didn’t deserve to be victimized in the first place.
Oooo so we get some mystery with this! Now I'm curious about Four's people, if they're an original species were they around for even if they weren't seen in anyone else's adventures? Are they a common sight in Four's Hyrule, super rare, or common and just not seen like the Minish? What's their name? Gosh, this is so intriguing! I'm also curious about everyone else's opinion of our local mystery among mysteries. Your Chain as Cryptids AU is absolutely amazing and I'm looking forward to hearing more about everyone, as always! But take care of yourself first above all else, you come before any story ♥️
No rush with this ask but I just remembered! Back in my last ask you said you finally got Four figured out, I'd love to hear about their lore! Unabashed favorite character alert, I think Four's design is so cool and I love their concept so I super wanna hear about em. Like I said, no rush if U wanna tackle Spirit's lore reveal first
Nonono I’m happy to talk about Four!
Full disclosure, I’m very busy with schoolwork (the semester ends in like two weeks!!! I’m barely hanging on) so I don’t currently have the mental capacity to sit and write pages and pages of lore. Writing is so incredibly draining for me, so you probably won’t be getting a full lore post for Spirit until this weekend! It’s one of those things that will take pages and pages to explain and I just… can’t do that right now haha! So I’m happy to talk about Four in the mean time!
Four is… a special case. I want them to be a mystery. Every time someone asks about their backstory- particularly about Shadow- I will always respond by telling them it’s a spoiler. (As I’m starting to organize my thoughts and get my feet under me to get serious about actually writing fics, I’m getting more secretive about story elements. I don’t mean to dangle it in front of your faces, but I don’t want to spoil the big things! I’m sorry if this seems cruel).
Four is pretty secretive about their past, very protective of the things they love, and still working through a lot of their issues. The colors are having a bit of a rough time reflecting on their adventures and so Four… doesn’t really talk about it a lot.
Like I said before, I want Four to be a closed book. The others will know them as an Enigma. They’ve never seen anything like Four before. I will say that they are an original species- like the Aquili for Wind. Their horns are normal for their people. Their affinity for the elements is normal for their people. Their ability to split? Not so much. The colors are still a secret.
(Think… dragons.)
Four thinks it’s entertaining to keep the others guessing. At first, it’s a defense mechanism. Trying to keep their cards close to their chest, never giving the others too much of themself. But as trust starts to grow between the Chain, it kind of becomes more of a running joke? Sometimes, they’ll give small bits of information over dinner. Long nights sitting around the fire. They’ll tell stories of their adventures, but they’d mess up with pronouns and perspectives the same way that Sky does.
Sky, for the same reason, doesn’t share much. Telling stories is hard when there’s multiple consciousnesses trying to speak through one mouth.
Again! I’m sorry, I know you probably wanted more backstory, but just like Four, I’m keeping my cards close to my chest for this one. It’s a secret to the Chain, and it’s a secret to everyone. Just know that I typically don’t stray too far from the game’s (and in this case, the Manga’s) canon. Or at least. I try not to.
Thinking about LU Four & Shadow again. Because I'm obsessed.
So of course with a lot of Shadow meets the chain fics Four de-escalates the situation pretty fast and Shadow's welcomed as another party member, but I've been thinking. What if Four doesn't do that? What if it's early enough in the adventure that no one trusts Four & they insist on attacking? Or, what if Four doesn't even try, because he doesn't think de-escalation is even possible because of what they've said?
What if Four and Shadow run away together? Become a 3rd party in this adventure?
What if Four can't.. or just doesn't speak up when the chain attacks Shadow?
I want this fic so bad if you can't tell.
Mmm ok ngl P3R has *not* been doing a very good job with it's supposedly impactful moments so far. Like, some of these moments just don't have the vibes to make them feel like they're actually important, when logically I know they're supposed to be. The characters are all standing around in their basic poses in a basic shot, the music (while amazing) doesn't fit the emotion (like, did they seriously just go straight back to default dark hour theme on 9/5?) and as good as the animations and voice acting are, they're undercut by the pauses from waiting for the player to finish reading.
I watched the first persona 3 movie, and the contrast between the game moment and the movie moment for Fuuka's persona reveal revealed to me just how good it could've been but wasn't. Idk, I keep hearing how P3 has the best story but I'm just not seeing it. Was it better in portable? The story moments just haven't been hitting right.
