A little doodle of Kitty with more ‘realistic’ proportions (quotations because she’s still cartoony as heck but with more sense for detail and construction). Forgot to color in her eyes, but those would be gray. She’s actually quite pale, because she hasn’t been off the rock in centuries, but otherwise is blessed with a face quite befitting her job. There’s something about a soft face, strong brows, and a little gap in the teeth that strikes me as very jesterly. No wonder that’s what task an ancient dark angels chapter master stuck her with when they took her in all those years ago.
i am about to create an au SO self indulgent. the target audience is 1 person and that person is me
Reading 40k books is an interesting experience, because no matter how fast a reader I am I feel like the biggest slowpoke ever.
Younger me is horrified that I’ve been working on the Ciaphas Cain omnibus for nearly a month now and haven’t finished it. Current me feels a sort of dark existential horror that I’m like seven books into this franchise and that’s only like 2% in.
It’s fun but goodness gracious this is gonna take a long while before I get even half of what’s going on.
In fifth grade a boy tried to impress me by swallowing a whole tadpole live and I punched him so hard that he puked and the tadpole was fine.
BTW when you encounter a character and think "What's this guy's fucking problem?" that's your body trying to give you an out before you fall into obsession.
“You have very kind eyes.”
Preparations for the Lion’s arrival continue
Small bit of Kitty lore: her mother was a retired serf from a whole line of serfs running back to the start of the Great Crusade, so her ineptitude is more than a little personally embarrassing
Also-forgot to include her tooth gap in the last panel. Whoops
Corax, a mall goth, being dragged to a party by his big brother, who does nothing to dispute that metalheads don't shower.
I’m noticing an increase in new fic writers on AO3 who…uh…mayy not know how to format their fics correctly..so here is a quick and VERY important tip
Using a random fic of mine as example..
The left example: ✅✅✅
The right example: ❌❌❌
Idk how many times I’ve read a good fic summary and been so excited to read before clicking on it and being met with an ugly wall of text. When I see a huge text brick with zero full line breaks my eyes blur and I just siiiigh bc either I click out immediately or I grin and bear it…it’s insufferable!
If a new character speaks, you need a line break. If you notice a paragraph is becoming too large, go ahead and make a line break and/or maybe reconfigure the paragraph to flow better. I’m not a pro writer or even a huge fic writer but…please…ty…
All primarch interactions ever, are in fact clown on clown behaviour. I'm sorry, i don't make the rules.
Thanks! Moira was a ton of fun to draw-tho I’ll admit I guessed on the pants and height a little.
@moociaoafterdark I wasn’t sure if you were thinking a reblog or an @ but here ya go. Sorry about the eraser smudges! Hope things are still readable.
Kitty acting like she herself is not a war criminal (albeit very, very retired)…but to be completely fair; she was specifically very against the enslavement bit. When she found herself married to an enslaving war criminal, she got herself a nice little annulment and a black widow reputation.

sigh. here let me help hand me a shovel
text: It's not a rabbit hole, I have a shovel and I'm digging
This is utter nonsense, but I’m concerned I may forget it before I remember to make a lion’s jester comic so here we go
Space marines drinking from regular size water fountains. How would that work? How many of them giraffe it and how many do the sensible thing and sit down to use it? I can’t imagine the scenario comes up often, if at all, but the image was so dumb when it came to me I’ll have to draw it at some point
um... i love her??? Why have I never seen her before because she looks ADORABLE. Thank you @thevalleygh0ul for suggesting I draw her!!
If tumblr goes down, find me on AO3. My username is BlueStarshine6. I’d figure out another platform eventually and repost the fanart there-or maybe post them on AO3 outright idk
yeah
tell him seraphine
Alrighty at long last fake skin line lore. Yay! Heads up this draws a lot from the German bedtime stories I was raised on, especially the brothers Grimm, and thus draws a lot from the kind of religious undertones and general peculiarities those have. It’s also super rough and more outline-y than anything. If anything is confusing lmk
Original post:
Once upon a time there was a land with many holy times. During holy times people ought to refrain from unholy activities; partaking of drink, violence, and other bestial urges. One year the king and queen broke the ‘fast’ on these detail urges during the holy times. And the angel Kayle descended and cursed them, saying that if they could not resist temptation to act like animals for even a week than their child wouldn’t be able to resist them for a day in her life.
Nine months later, the princess Briar is born cursed to be a violent bloodthirsty beast. Luckily, her fairy godmother Morgana gives her a pillory that allows her to be in human form and mostly normal. When she grows up, she goes adventuring to try and break the curse entirely so she can get married.
A similar situation played out in the neighboring kingdom except a few months earlier, when their monarchs broke the fast on gluttony.
She has three trials where she’s tempted to do something verboten and resists all three times, at some point acquiring a beastly friend to help her do this that’s wearing a weird torn cloak. At the end of the trials, she is rewarded with a broken curse and the beastly friend turning back into his true form as a prince of the neighboring kingdom, where they go and prove his identity as Prince Talon with the torn cloak he’s been wearing.
They get married and stay friends till the end of their days, happily ever after.
It must be exhausting being a vampire and eating someone who gets off to it. I’d take psychic damage too if my lasagna was into vore.
I know my sons have warned me about attacking my fallen brother on his flagship but watch me put an end to his treachery
If you see this you’re legally obligated to reblog and tag with the book you’re currently reading
Just realized I forgot to specify who was who. In case that confused anyone from left to right: Briar (pillory form), Briar (monster form), Talon, Kayle, and Morgana
The concept/colored art of a little fan skin line I’ve been working on. I’ll add a post with the lore later. No title yet but it was me taking a swing at writing a Grimm’s fairy tale type thing. Except not writing cause it’s mostly art 😅
First time water coloring on the go. The photo messed it up a little but I’m happy with the end result
okay so I'm having a debate with my flatmates
are these all different things and if so what do you call them
