John is just having a quick talk with Bats about a new curse that has settled over Gotham lately (more of the usual, nothing heinous, more trouble to get rid of it than leaving it would be) when his new 'son' zooms out of his pocket and latches onto Red Hood's helmet.
John is only SLIGHTLY worried for moment that his eldritch baby has decided to be a face eater, but no. He's just clinging to Red Hood's helmet and looking at the vigilante with his oversized wet eyes. And is he purring?
Jason is kind of confused. Wtf is this thing, and why is it on him. Why is the Pit quieter??!
Meanwhile John is wondering how much he needs to offer to put Red Hood on the official baby sitting roster. The kid seems to like him.
John sees alot in his line of work, the supernatural is like that after all you never know what you will run into. So when he is called for what is essentially pest control he doesn't have high hopes for the gig. It could literally be any number of things, so he grabs a little of everything before he arrives at the location.
It is a planetarium, absolutely OVERRUN but blob ghosts!
John sighs and gets to work funneling the ghosts out of the building and into a portal to the infinite realms. Pretty cut and dry job, which should have been a clue that it was anything but. He doesn't realize he has a passenger until he gets back to the house of mysteries and reaches into his pocket only to get BITTEN.
John makes eye contact with what he can only assume is a baby eldritch monstrosity, it can't even be over a millennium yet, is it even over a century!? oh god it was born in the last decade!
Little baby man Danny has no idea that the man he hitched a rid on would essentially be adopting him in the near future, not that that is a problem, he is still growing into his new form as an Ancient of Space. Wouldn't hurt to have a protector and guardian to look after him in the coming centuries!
However, Batman isn't about to out this kids identity. It's his to choose to reveal (he isn't a hypocrite, and the situation has been dealt with. No one is getting hurt). And besides, the Justice League needs to work on their deductive skills. They can practice with the kid, and Danny gets to pepper Martian Manhunter with space questions. Win-win.
Dc x dp idea 13?
Danny just gaslighting the JL and JLD.
They summoned the ghost king obviously Danny shows up cause i love that for him. He’s in human form. He does that on purpose.
Must ppl assume they messed up send him back and leave it at that. Nope not these people.
Constantine is checking the summoning circle again. Just tells Danny he won’t fall for his disguise and that he knows that he’s ghost king. And says he wants to make a deal.
Danny knows this man sells his souls more then his parents claim they want to tear phantom up molecule by molecule and he has no use for a soul anyways. So Danny just says if i was a king i wouldn’t be failing high school. He wouldn’t even go to high school.
Then Danny goes on about how he has a bully so obviously he couldn’t be a king. Not to mention his human non royal parents. They were mad scientist and ghost hunters but that’s as interesting as they got. Also hello he is alive what did Constantine think he was secretly a ghost.
Danny then walks around the circle just pointing at the total correct symbols going are you sure it’s meant to be a crown. What if this king is a queen and has a tiara. Like who are you to assume it’s a king if you’ve never met them.
John isn’t falling for it at all. Now everyone else is doubting him. Batman pulled up Danny on the computer a perfectly normal human child. So Danny is gonna pull out the big guns. Looks at him and goes if i step out will that prove I’m not currently the ghost king.
It’s one of the other JLD members who says he wouldn’t be able to if he was king. It was warded to keep the king in. So Danny who is currently human just steps out.
See he’s totally not the just king. Currently.
Turns out they needed someone to deal with the box ghost. Danny just say oh i got that. He soups him and goes i did say my parents were ghost hunters
Danny failed to realize once he stepped out of the circle they couldn’t send him back that way. So now he is stuck being questioned but hey at least he is in space.

“Am I your dad!!?” Billy shouted. Danny paused. Took a deep breath in and out before turning to him. “I’m gonna need you to back up, and explain. Please.” Or, what happens when a twelve year old masquerading as an adult superhero calls his guardian, an adult who can also turn into a child superhero, on speaker phone, in front of the Justice League.

Submitter's comment:
Yes yes it's a crossover of the blended/integrated universes variety. Billy is still the primary MC though/ball is mostly in DC court. The wonked up age wbit is funny, and they stuck to it. It's also genuinely and generally pretty sweet.
DP x DC idea where Danny is already fighting a group of nondescript green ghosts, you know the kind like Walker’s guards, but the JL come to see what’s going on and potentially take care of the problem. But in the frenzy Danny mistakes Martian Manhunter as a ghost and sucks him into the thermos too. Only no one realizes until after the fight, so a few days later they have to track down Phantom and ask him what he did with the ghosts they fought. But he already released them into GZ, so now he’s taking a group of JL members into the GZ to find their lost pal.
It feels like this every time I write a fic
A bold reporter (hi Lois) asks Batman, because half is shtick is that he's full human. Batman stares at them, and tells them, "You mess with any member of my family? We all come together, united against one ememy. And now you're going to see what happens when we all have a common denominator,"
Batman walks away, and the government has +2 to their panic level. The Robins had all hacked the Pentagon for FUN, oh god(s) what are they going to do? Batman let the feral ones off their child leashes for this, oh gods they're going to all have fates worse than death.
Duke, meanwhile, is greatly enjoying the mew family bonding activity! Going to protests, in and out of uniform, booing government agents, it's great! He loves his family.
So apparently Danny is a member of the Legion of Doom. No he had not realized this until recently. He had simply been approached by some guys talking about him being illegal and a little unhinged (plus the bonus that he had powers) and how he should totally join their club. How was he supposed to know that they really meant he'd make an excellent evil genius and that their "club" was an organization bent on the destruction of the Justice League?
"...So, like do you wanna run away together and live on a farm and raise chickens with me?"
"Please,"
You are a superhero and you are sick of it. So you decide to fake your death in the next fight with your nemesis. Unfortunately they have the same plan.
Oh oh oh, but imagine if Danny was missing something. If he was a ghost of himself. The hollow version of himself, bland and neutral.
Out there is his ghost half. The thing so intrinsically connected to his emotions. Maybe it was a dream catcher situation or the claws from The Ultimate Enemy, and they got sperated, the human half lost in Gotham, missing his ghost half. How can he focus on his 'other half', his soul mate, when the literal other half of himself is missing?
He can't survive without Phantom. Phantom can't survive without him. He's slowly dying, and there's nothing he can do about it except wait for Phantom to find him.
No use letting his soul mate get attached when he might be dead soon. Well, deader.
Damian had a soulmate. Too the suprise to his family, well on his father's side. His mother and grandfather had a knowing look. They had something to do with it. Well, oh well. Danny was found on the streets of Gotham and refused to say anything about his past. That's fine, this family was used to less than amazing past.
But Damian was unhappy with this. For being his soulmate, Danny took longer to warm up to the family than Damian himself did. With less violence at least. But he seemed to be a hallow version of a happier person. A ghost of a person. But ever so slowly he warmed up to them, seeming more alive. But still Damian was unhappy. Danny was his soulmate yet he treated Damian like everyone else. He even avoided Damian entirely at times to be with someone else. (What was he doing wrong? He was trying so hard! Was he such a demon that even the other half of his soul wanted nothing to do with him?)
Grayson said that it wasn't true, but Grayson was wrong.
Sam: Mom, I thought you said he was a scourge upon the family reputation and you hated him?
Pamela: Yes, and he still is, but he's OURS. No one else can have him. Especially not The Waynes.
Family Traditions
The Mansons and the Waynes always had a...rocky relationship. Starting with Alfred facing off against Ida on the battlefield during his time in the British secret service. And cursing when the girl scurried out of his sight.
Although they no longer wanted to kill each other (maybe, they had children to take care of), their rivalry prevailed, and they could start fighting over anything. It was one of the reasons Ida attended to the Wayne Gala and only the Wayne gala. Just to upset the butler.
And this didn't just stay with them, Pamela HATED Bruce Wayne (and the feeling was mutual). They attended galas since they were kids and he was the most fucking annoying person she knew. She couldn't believe how he fooled everyone with "the playboy Brucie", he was obnoxious. And smarter than people gave him credit for. (Also, Pamela was pretty sure he was gay anyway)
Sam didn't want to follow this family tradition but when Damian Wayne tried to stab her with a cooking knife (after she kindly gave him an advice, taking responsibility as the eldest between them), the war begun, again.
Danny started attending those galas only to see things explode after being told this piece of information by Sam. The entire Manson family knew about it but the Waynes had no idea why the Masters heir was there. He even brought popcorn!
Ohoho, this is beautiful. Unfourtanetly, Hunter's ideas of how to be a Good Nephew are entirely based off of what Belos wanted from him. Some things, Hunter now knows is wrong. Other, more subtle things... Not so much.
Hunter makes food as an act of service, because Lillith, most likely, does not want Hunter to go hunt palismen for her. Lilith wonders if it's poisoned.
Hunter calls out to her every time she enters the room to announce her presence, like he used to herald for Belos. Lilith, an introvert, thinks this is some kind of passive aggressive attack on her.
It all comes to a head when Lillith snaps at Hunter, and his immediate reaction is to kneel and beg for forgiveness, because that's what you do when you're a Bad Nephew... isn't it?
I'm seething at the untapped potential of the Lilith And Hunter dynamic, imagine going to see your sister and seeing that your former colleague/rival is sleeping on her couch in the ugliest shirt you've ever seen, he looks like he hasn't slept in 4 days (normal) and has also been crying (not as normal) and then your sister tells you he's wanted for treason and he is now your new nephew, you suddenly remember the time you tried to trip this kid down a flight of stairs and tore up his Limited Addition Emperors Coven Poster when he asked you to sign it, and by the look on his face he ALSO remembers and he doesn't plan to forget OR forgive your transgressions
Yo! I'm Lira, she/her, LiraBuswavi on Ao3, and I'm just here to have a good time. The header is fanart I received for a fanfic I wrote! Check out @doodlesforfics, they're an amazing artist.
