This is a post on "Ethical pornography" I made in 2022. People love to use "ethical" and "choice" arguments, however these do not hold up against any scrutiny. And after seeing that pornhubs trending searches are often of war refugees or media that has been proven to be non-consential (Lana Rhodes), you could not make me believe for a second that the end viewer cares at all about the ethics involved.
This is one of the things that ultimately loses me from the beginning with Whipping Girl. It is a work interested in reclaiming femininity from its place of degradation in the hierarchy, and that’s… Well I think you end up missing a lot of nuances of things when you claim that femininity is always seen as degrading. How many women in Congress can be accurately described as masculine? How many female singers or actresses are? It ignores the history of females like Helen Hulick or more infamously Joan of Arc whose refusal to bow to the insistence of femininity resulted in legal action/death respectively. This ‘let 👏 everyone👏 Be 👏 feminine 👏’ stuff seems really out of touch. Go outside. Female people are plenty aloud to be feminine and in fact are often alienated by their peers if they aren’t inclined towards it.
But more than that, why must feminism (especially radical feminism) be about femininity and not females? Are there not enough issues to focus on based on sex for a movement to exist with goals focused on it in mind? Perhaps this will be focused on later, but it’s almost anti intersectional to claim the majority of the world supports the idea of men and women as equals. Do females banished to menstruation huts because they are seen as ‘unclean’ and will ‘taint the people around them’ not bleed the same blood as I do? Does the female child undergoing genitalia mutilation out of a sense of tradition and who sees her vagina as something sinful and disgusting not deserve our attention? Does the female forced to give birth against her desires not deserve the right to her own body? Is it not worth it to have a movement dedicated to the rights of half of the population? Maybe this will be addressed at some other point in the novel, I may be making too quick of a judgement.
”But have you tried my bacon? My bacon is to die for, everyone loves my bacon.”
That’s cool, that a lot of people enjoy your bacon that is. But I don’t like pork, so it probably won’t be nice for me.
“What if I snuck little pork bits inside your kale, you’d probably like it than right?”
No. I don’t like pork so it’d just kind of ruin what’d otherwise be a good meal for me.
“You like chicken with your kale and that’s practically the same as pork!”
… No. Chicken is chicken. They’re both meats I guess but chicken isn’t pork.
“I think everyone secretly likes pork, they just haven’t had it cooked the right way.”
Then your ideas about the world are wrong, because I don’t like pork.
“I totally get what you mean, I’m a Muslim and I’m 100 percent against eating pork! I do crave bacon and pork chops all the time though I mean who doesn’t? Don’t get how you’re into kale though I mostly live on chicken and lettuce.
I don’t crave pork. Because I don’t like it, I do like kale though- it honestly doesn’t seem like you get what I mean at all.
“Oh yeah, I ate pork and found it pretty okay, but than I had kale and it was the bomb! It was so good it made me realize I never liked pork!”
I don’t think kale is just… Better than pork, I straight up don’t like it.
“You know I experimented with kale when I was younger than realized-“
I’m going to blow up the world.
To that anon: I like keeping positive comments to hold. It was sweet and I'm glad you sent it. I hope you find people who you feel free to learn and discourse with freely.
Most Radfems and the like don’t respect DNIs- which I honestly think kind of sucks in its own way. You don’t owe me or anyone your time or attention and I’m not owed access to your blog. A DNI is a polite request to respect a boundary and you- the person reading this- your right to your own space and your own boundaries matters. Never let anyone make you believe the lines that you place don’t matter.
Sometimes I respond to posts on my for you out of habit though and don’t check blogs beforehand. If I break your DNI, I’m sorry especially if I do so in a way that triggers you. Please curate your online experiences as needed.
I don’t care if a woman is amongst the worst human beings to walk this earth, if you believe that writing or imagining rape and sexually violent fantasies is an acceptable response to their actions you should stay far away from women. I don’t care if they’re transgender-exclusive, I don’t care if they’re conservative, I don’t care if they’re a criminal. Your fantasies reflect what you’re capable of thinking about all women.
Grown women who mock 10-year-old girls on tiktok for using too much makeup and skincare are so ironic and painful to watch.
Acting like these girls didn’t get their ideas from you. They were listening when you were telling them how you should start your retinol treatment as young as you can. They were listening when you told them 30 step routine is a game changer. They were looking at you, at women on the billboards, magazine covers and in the TV shows with perfect skin, perfect eyeshadows, perfect hair and realised they should do the same, they should start as young as they can or it would be too late.
These girls are present when you mock other women for their age. Young women ages 20-30 get bullied for having normal faces. “Oh my god i thought you were 50” at a woman who is clearly in her thirties.
These “helpful tips” how to not get wrinkles which include don’t lift your eyebrows, don’t emote in general, use anti-wrinkle straws, don’t forget to get botox on time.
Red light therapy, sleeping with your mouth sealed, in one position on your back so either side of your face won’t get squished and swollen.
But these little girls are funny, yeah, let’s mock them. Why don’t you mock the promoters of these ideas? Why don’t you mock billion dollar industries? 10-year-olds at Sephora are funny, I wonder if you find the absence of women with real faces on screens as funny
