thinking too hard about the fact that megumi literally told yuuji to start by saving him. HIM!! a boy he’s known for only a few months. to latch onto him as a sort of comfort and moral compass in a time of distress and let megumi’s goals guide him when he’s lost. to let yuuji put his humanity in his hands. that’s INSANE. THEY’RE INSANE.

no you have to contribute to your fandom if you don't want it to die. most fandoms die because people say 'it's so sad watching the fandom die when the hype dies' without doing anything about it. I'm not saying you have to push out 100k word slow-burn fic, I'm not saying you have to make fan art or gif sets or edits or anything. I'm just saying we as a community should contribute to our fandom if we don't want it to die, and by contributing, I'm talking about giving kudos, commenting on your favorite fics, reblogging your favorite art and just talking about your favorite characters. that's enough to keep a fandom alive. that's the most effective way to keep a fandom alive in my humble opinion.

fandoms die because people stop talking about it, fandoms die because people stop engaging with fan content once the hype is gone. what I'm saying is, mainstream media's hype may be gone, but our fandom can stay alive and thriving if us as a community don't let it die.

AITA for trying to make my son try to kill his half brother? 

i (1000+X) tried to make my eldest son (150M) kill his half brother (15M) and now they both want to kill me. 

i’m a sorcerer, but i’m a bit of a mad scientist as a side hustle, and i like to perform experiments for fun, especially on other sorcerers. 150 years ago, i created 9 cursed spirit-human hybrids. up until a few months ago, they were all kept in tubes in a high school basement.

in the mean time, 16 years ago, i discovered that the soul of my old frenemy's (1000+M) twin brother that he consumed in the womb was reincarnated, so i had a kid with him too, my youngest son.

this year, my youngest son ate a few of my frenemy's preserved fingers, so my frenemy was living inside him, in a sense. in an effort to make contact with my frenemy for a new experiment which i cannot reveal at this time, i stole three of my older sons from the high school basement and let them out.

my youngest came into a conflict with the younger two of the three sons i released, and he and his friend (15F) killed them. my eldest seemed really upset, even thought it didn't seem like that big of a big deal to me. later on, i lost the need for my frenemy's help, so i told my eldest he could kill my youngest to avenge his brothers.

somehow, when they were fighting to the death, my eldest realized that my youngest was his half brother. he ended up having some kind of mental breakdown and didn't kill my youngest. now he's mad that i tried to make him kill his brother, which i don't really see how that's relevant to the situation.

every time i've seen either one of them since they fought, they've tried to kill me. i don't really know what i did wrong. i'm just investigating the nature of sorcery, my life's passion. honestly, i wish they would show more respect for me as their parent and not jump me every time they see me. AITA?

it’s unfortunate that (some) people in fandom spaces are starting to get too comfortable complaining and being rude to writers and artists who create contents they personally don’t like (“why are you making this character a top when he’s obviously a bottom? omg do you even understand his character?” “I’m so sick of seeing fan art and fanfic where this character is portrayed as a sadist when he’s actually misunderstood in my opinions, therefore anyone who disagrees with me is wrong and should be shamed” just to name a few I’ve seen) instead of curating their own fandom experiences by engaging only with contents they do like.

you want more fics where (x) is written in this specific way? either write one yourself or politely expressing your opinion about how you hope there will be more fics where (x) is written in this specific way instead of making fandom a toxic place by being rude to writers and artists who dare make contents that are not to your Personal Liking.

if the universe does not revolve around you, strangers and fandom spaces don’t have to cater exclusively to your personal preferences either.

to all my beloved writers and artists, write whatever you want, draw whatever you want. portray that character in whichever way you want to portray. I hope you have fun doing what you love. don’t let anybody tell you what you can or can’t do with the blorbo. go wild. I will always support you

when reblogging, i will tag works with #sfw and #nsfw for easy navigation so people can avoid content they are not interested in.

both are welcome. the event is called itafushi week since it is the more commonly used name here on tumblr, especially for sfw work.

when will dates & prompts be available?

i'm closing the form on april 27th at noon EST, i hope to share the details within a few hours of that.

why are the prompts not more concrete? / what about ___ au/post-canon/yuri?

the goal is to inspire as many different interpretations and as much creative freedom as possible. that way people can write whatever they want—au or canonverse, fluff or angst, sfw or nsfw, etc.

for example, the prompt rain could be interpreted as a romantic kiss in the rain, a cozy day in during a storm, an interpretation of chapter 9, etc.

mainly, it gives people a bit more freedom compared to a list of tropes, since some people might be pickier about what they like and don't like. it also gives more opportunity for people to update a current multi-chapter/series or pick up a wip that’s been gathering dust!
