kate still struggles with her relationship with her mother, and is left in tears after one particular visit, collapsing into yelena and sobbing about how she wishes eleanor would simply let her go so they could both move on. it takes yelena 20 minutes to instil enough terror into eleanor to make her ban kate from visiting

yelena’s the aggressor, but kate will swing first to defend her. yelena says she’s tired of cleaning up kate’s messes just to cover up the fact that she’s honoured to mean so much to kate that she would try to protect her, the assassin, physically

kate encourages yelena to gradually put more pictures of nat out in the open. she knows it’s still a very open wound, but tries to get her to think about nat in a more positive fashion, not just hiding her away. kate wakes up one early morning to find yelena sobbing into a polaroid of her and nat and quickly cuddles her from behind, cooing softly as she lets it all out

kate is a fruity drinks kinda girly and yelena downs beer like a driver at a truck stop bar

Ever travelled through hyperspace for so long it makes you wanna fall in love with the enemy- They are just practising on their sparring pffft. Initially supposed to end in fluff but I wanted to add in the angst for fun because wolfwren,, also Shin is def the easily flustered one between the two and you cant change my mind.

Extra unfinished page: I actually did wanted to end this comic on a lightsaber fight following a talk based on that scene of Sabine trying to chase after Shin. Since there wasn't enough space sooo have at it, Im just gonna leave it here for now (planning to work on some Ahsoka and Sabine!!). OH shoutout to ao3 writers and wolfwren artists that inspired me to work on this,, thank you for feeding my delusions with your gorgeous gorgeous works!!

there's... so much going on in this fleeting moment that we see of shin.

this is the third time she's engaged in duel with sabine (and in this episode, the first time she engaged in battle with ahsoka AND ezra), and it's also the third time she's cornered and had to flee.

this time, though, it hits her the hardest.

she had just parted ways with baylan, and this was the exact moment when thrawn's troops retreated. shin is stranded alone amongst her enemies. she's lost; not just the duels but also her purpose.

and to make it worse, ahsoka reached out to her.

ahsoka offered her guidance in place of baylan.

this is where we see her the most conflicted. ahsoka, ezra, and sabine spared her. ahsoka reached out her help to her; most definitely to take shin under her. shin doesn't know what to do at this point. so, she does what she always does after every duel.

shin flees.

and sabine? sabine was about to chase after her; either to pick up the fight, or to persuade her to join them. ahsoka held her back, and shin disappeared on her own howler wolf.

that, was a painful scene for me
