How does this keep getting likes-?/gen
Oh yeah
Leviathan design!
Big deep sea serpent who drowns sinners in the sea of jealousy and feasts on their negativities, transforming them into demons of the ring of Envy (i think).
Color palette inspiration was from @color-palettes !
Yeah
Bro how do you even function with this little dude constantly on your body… especially when you’re doing things that involve privacy, I would be scared that my own tail was judging me.
Author's note:
The inspiration of the snake was the many other Cudas out there who are serpentine or have reptile traits. I personally love animalistic/anthro traits, so I decided to give him something reptilian too. Just in a way that I haven't see many others do.
As to how they work, I'm debating my jsab at not needing to consume.
But yeah, most of it is design choice, and may be prone to changes.
Extremely niche but I want to look a little into colour theory or colour as a literary motif or really accessible colour science. Anyone’s read something good about this? (except for Goethe’s Theory of Colours which I have and is a blast and a little dizzying—Goethe you did it again you beautiful weirdo.)
Reblogging this so I could get a few more requests

So Vince becomes a bad shape because of growing jealousy, feeling pushed aside, and basically having ther spotlight and attention stolen by someone they see "less than them."
So as a young shape, Vince has always wanted Aethel's attention (Aethel having been the closest relative to communicate with the gods themselves, deeming him less than the actual gods/original pantheon themselves, but higher than the modern minigods. Aethel is the only god who has such a hierarchy, which gave Vince a soecial want for his attention.)
Now... Why did Vince want his attention?
Perhaps for the following reasons:
The be recognized by the gods themselves
To be granted a title higher than a minigod (maybe one alongside Aethel)
Given special treatment? If not by the gods, then by Aethel, or vice versa.
Has a purpose to be the best of the best.
But now the question is... Why would they want either of those to get his attention?
Perhaps forbthe following reasons (corresponding to the bullet points above, but can be mixed and matched.)
To maybe sit amongst the gods themselves
To have the same respect as Aethel
Because they wanted a father/child relationship with Aethel, and saw Aethel as a father figure
Wanted to be everything Aethel wanted. Or to become his heir to position, as Aethel has begun to express he finds the title tiring (as he is the only one with his title, he has the only power to communicate with the gods aside from vague signs and can help accomplish what they want. Not prophecies, per se, more like ways to help their dying population survive to keep their earth alive. Their earth relies on magic, something civilians don't naturally have.)
Now seeing these, we can simplify it:
Vince wanted Aethel's attention to impress him, become a child figure to him, maybe become his apprentice, o help him aid the gods, and to gain the respect from other minigods, all because Vince has looked up to him the moment they existed.
Why has Vince looked up to Aethel as a father figure?
Because Aethel and Vince were two of the first three minigods generated (born) into the world. Aethel was first. Vince was second. Safrina (supposedly Vince's "younger sister"), was third.
Back to the previous idea of why Vince wanted Aethel's attention, it makes sense for Vince to want to try anything o catch Aethel's attention or try to impress him.
As any attention seeking child would do, they would do anything good or bad for the sake of negative or positive attention.
Why would Vince do this? Aha. Because they were unintentionally emotionally neglected as a child by Aethel.
Aethel saw Vince as a nuisance at times, because his young mind thought he was supposed to be utterly devoted to the gods, not entertain a young minigod. But let's assume his job was to pass on his knowledge to the young minigod that is Vince.
...you see where I'm going with this?
Vince was desperate for a father figure, doing anything to catch his attention, and Aethel was a working parental figure who was not aware of Vince's needs as a shapeling (young shape) and ignired them for the sake of following through the gods' orders and worships.
As Vince grew, so did their devotion, desperation, and the emotional distance between Aethel and them.
Even if Safrina offered to comfort Vince, Vince never accepted it, because Safrina was not who they were after.
Vince, their entire life, was after a goal they could never achieve until their ultimate death.
They killed some of the most powerful minigods and rose in hierarchy as the strongest minigod alive to impress Aethel, and that did nothing.
They led a colony of minigods, that did nothing.
They gained respect throughout the land, not only in their status as part of The Holy Council (the first three minigods alive), but also through their strength, brutal leadership, and elemental power, and yet that still did nothing.
At their adult age, Vince was practically broken, but not giving up. Aethel has only noticed them as a member of the council, but mever actually noticed Vince's desire to be a friend to him or even an apprentice.
Now you may be asking "Why didn't Vince just ask?"
Vince was never taught as a child. They had no father figure aside from the terrible one Aethel hardly provided. You could say Vince imprited on them and Aethel was out in a parenting job he didn't want to take part in.
So Vince lacked social skills on how to effectively communicate that didn't involve a superiority complex or violence.
But why did Vince become Alpha's Villain?
Vince's goal was never to become Aethel's villain or Alpha's villain. We know now, digging into their psychology, they only wanted the attention of a neglectful, unaware father.
But when Alpha came into the picture, that's when shit became real.
Vince was stunned when a minigod like Alpha got Aethel's attention more than Vince ever did. Sure, Alpha was practically born with an odd mutation, but Vince was furious about Aethel focusing more on them than themself.
Vince hated Alpha for the attention the got, jealous of the fact that someone they saw as "less than themself" could catch Aethel's full attention.
This is where the vengeful Vince comes in. Neglecting Alpha, mistreating them, openly sharing their hatred, bullying them, breaking them until they are almost nothing, hoping Aethel then saw how worthless Alpha seemed. Vince's jealousy took over. They were ruthless and cruel because they were angry Alpha could achieve something in a few minutes that they themself couldn't shove in years.
This was driven as far as Vince giving Alpha propaganda shit by tainting their mutation into something "dangerous," saying it was "unpredictable of what they could be capable of." Vince even managed to go as far as convincing Aethel to execute them.
Which would have been a success had Safrina not stepped in.
Thanks to that, Alpha was granted life until young adulthood, where they later would've been exiled. Vince, of course wanting to besire Alpha was gone to never interfere with their plan again, had tried to take Alpha's own life, resuling in Vince's ultimate death.
Even in the purgatory, Vince still haunts Alpha as best as they could.
