Panel two is smaller and to the right, the top of a lush, green saguaro cactus with delicate, white flowers opening atop long, thick stems. In the flat, indigo background the words "And then the desert" are written.

The final panel is below the first two and it spans the entire width of the comic. The storm clouds have consumed the sky, their forms blown by the wind to and fro, creating spirals and long lines across the perspective in varying purple highlights and shadows. To the bottom right, dark rain continues to fall. In the foreground is a silhouette of a long haired person lifting their head up to the rain with the text "Blooms" written as if it's extending from their face, mimicking the flowers blooming. On the right, a large saguaro cactus jutts into the frame, laden with more delicate white flowers.

The full text of the comic is a lyric from The Mountain Goats song Ezekiel 7 and the Permanent Efficacy of Grace, "The clouds explode and then the desert blooms."
