durarara shizaya i made a thing a cheap imitation chapter 48 you're supposed to go into the link yourself but i know most won't and for posterity here's a video archive of it oh yea i also reached out to @glaciesdraco for suggestions on this so thanks to them for helping out this is over a yeaaaar old twitter post was oct 28 2023 did tweak it a bit though i was kinda struggling over that mostly just the pink card near the end and some colours here and there still feels kinda wack and not cohesive to me but it's been over a year so gotta let this one go finally unloading these last few things i made for the book club omg i considered doing more sound design on this one too but i just never did it so i'm making myself just leave it as this i like the sentiment behind this one a lot but the execution is kindaaaa if i'm feeling brave i'll also transcribe the little write up i made alongside this as an add-on or something i shouuuld generally do that with the stuff i wrote on there when i get the time this is honestly kinda embarrassing to me but my brain dictates i put them up (in chronological order) before i move forward and i neeeed to needto need to

reblog shintaro kisaragi kgpr critai ene takane enomoto i actually believe i can do them all :D just gotta keep at it despite how hard i make it sound lol i really do like doing these because i really start to notice all the little details and that feels really fun and rewarding for me :) the vibe and atmosphere of this one is super moody and cool it sounds like jinzou enemy if you get what i mean the composition of shin's arm cutting off ene's neck??? ahhhhh that's suuuuuuch an awesome concept the way she stares straight past it towards the viewer idk it's got that unsettling vibe i like the way you coloured her idk how you'd refer to it but the luminosity of her form feels cold and digital in that way that really works idk suuuper striking against the dark room also cool how the wires sorta imitate the usual shape of her hair she's all tangled up in here with her memories (or lack thereof) did you draw all the stuff in the screens too? i don't have all her appearances memorised so i wouldn't know off the top of my head if you reused some stuff but looks like you drew (or redrew) them all? they look nice the one where it's just her eye looking into the camera i like that i think it's cute and fun the uhhh headphone actor style takane in the top right also looks really cool snuck haruka and azami around the edges too

reblog drrr comic shizaya it looks so cool it's a lot a cheap imitation shigaeru love how he puts on his best lounging pose from that awkward position jhdhgasd he's got priorities and still smiling with that bruise from earlier these smug izayas look great by the way i want to pinch then twist his cheeks that panel where he catches the pipe though with the sharp movement of his coat and chains and that extra bit of shading on the coat fluff also how the KL ANK is written like it reverberates off of the impact and echoes through him the way he only uses his knife to parry and handicap the guy you aren't sly you weenie ''at least shizuo'' izaya you are fighting for your life here never miss an opportunity to dig at the guy even in a life or death situation huh the flow of the panels flaring out is great wewww and this shot with the foreshortened knife your little cardboard knife and awesome perspective work wonders the swerving view of the floor as izaya loses ground and the inverted silhouettes have so much oomph also i like how the chains kind of accentuate the flow of every movement um hey i see that pipe as the i there you sneaky oof getting kicked and rocked back so hard into the chair and having to take on the brunt of the pipe with his wrist even with the cuff and these last two panels with that brilliant foreshortening are so intense

reblog animatic its so good precious fakir Mytho ptutu stray tori mykir ahh it works so well the video editing is so smooth from the camera movements to the puppeteering and the blurs and colours a moment of silence for the marionettes that you didn't get around to including at the beginning but even without them you nailed the drosselmeyer aesthetic the way you incorporated the turning cogs with their looming shadows and the stall aww showing the progression of their relationship through hands with mytho giving up both of his so easily to tutu fakir pulling away with those absolutely baby expressions the transition from lohengrin to fakir with the shift in their posture that incredibly tender hand kith and that expression all go so well with the whispery part of the song then ooh the transition from that to mytho cradling fakir's face the slight blush beneath his bangs as he almost opens himself up for the touch and the eye transition with mytho's amber eyes going red !! your feathers are so fluffy and soft like mytho's hair their poses and expressions in the dance are eerily gentle part 2 of their relationship through hands featuring abuse then the way mytho's tentatively raises his hand as the door closes on him hhh the closing shadows and lighting of the door look so pretty and then fakir absolutely shocked into stillness with that teary eyed expression

reblog shuuya kano kgpr marry kozakura tsubomi kido kousuke seto critai oh dear i'm starting to get carried away with other things so i've gotta finish this now if you do eventually make solo pieces for the leftover dans though i think i'd still be very eager to return for those 🐈‍⬛ maybe something for next august 15th? i'd wait anyways the combining of different mv themes is really cool and i like they way you worked them together in this composition everyone has their own sort of layer so it feels like you're unravelling down from 4 to 3 to 2 to 1 like a minecraft dropper level <- i have no idea how else to refer to it marry framing the comp with the white sheet really brings it all together like she's uncovering the stories i'm not super familiar with her songs tbh but i feel like that makes sense? with her? also tryna shield herself with it sorta is cute i like the shape of it btw it has a nice guiding eye effect and just looks cool idk the black loomy shadows right beneath it for kanoooo ma boyyy and they've got mysterious spray paint markings hidden among them i like the ones that are like shadows for his legs very cool with the bleed effect too 👁️ what do the stars mean though... love that you drew kano <3 he's so cute with his sillie smile and lounging pose lying in the shadows i also like how his lines kinda have this shine to them in the shadows and red highlights in the light idk i really like that for him!! seto and little seto are cute beneath the dappled light and the way he's looking out at us like he's reading our mind maybe kido!! finally we get to see her fully she looks great the shapes of her hair are so satisfying including the ones peeking in from the side the way you used this familiar setting with the layering and greenery and then the open window to frame kido?? i loove her song integration the way the light falls over her face is so pretty <3 i quite like the splashes of colour you leave around the place in your rendering nooo your file crashing ;o; i didn't get to see any concept sketches for this so i'm curious if you had other ideas too or if this was literally done straight ahead real quick for ayano the way she's like hugging herself and the pages flowing through like yay she saved them!! but nooo her scarf is trailing up like she's falling and the pages are flying out from her grasp so like aw she does so much 🥺

commission durarara shizaya if you know you know izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima i made a thing a cheap imitation adding this to my tag even though i didn't draw it but i had a big hand in it so i want to have it there playing director to this was a fun experience i had a very particular vision in mind for this but rosa was super accommodating to all my specifications 10/10 great to work with her lighting and expressions are just +++ sorry for potentially spoiling it for anyone who hasn't read it though if you haven't here's your nudge to do so! alright so just a few behind the scenes things in case anyone's interested a few more minor spoilers ahead though i actually read the fic and therefore this scene before having watched the anime this is just how i am don't worry about it so i didn't know it was based on that ketsu fight at the time i'm not sure how it was for most people but this was pretty much exactly what i imagined shizuo looking up at izaya framed by all the violence and his own expression staring back down at him minus the artistic flare of the tilted composition and certain logistics that rosa manifested for me midway through the process i suddenly remembered the blood on the monitor over shizuo's face!! and then i also suggested the sudden whim to have a view of the starry night in one of the monitors heheh and rosa did them ahh i really love how they all turned out seriously can't thank her enough for dealing with all the small details i wanted to get just right so yeah here's my sorta indirect contribution to the fandom and this fic again hsdgshhd i keep thinking i want to draw more of the scenes i love from the fic myself it won't look as cool as this but you can't go wrong with more aci and that concludes my tag rambling of the month see ya next time

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru this first shizuo panel is veery cute with the loose cigarette hold i love his attitude to izaya's shit <3 oh wow izaya with his hair brushed back is certainly a look such an evil looking laugh he's got i like the way his hood looks fanned out beneath his head here shizuo gnawing back down on his cigarette there shdsgh the long shot singling out “you'll die and that's the truth” adds an interesting weight to the sound of that line like it's echoing or something with its impact on the topic of death: a closeup on shizuo's throat and collar i really like the nonchalant look of the izaya in this next panel just has that resigned vibe that's kinda rare on him i like shizuo's cigarette snapping for impact uhh since i've started rereading this fic with some friends i've kinda thought about these lines a bit “it doesn't matter if the whole world despises me or if my body breaks” it's a little more obvious in the fic with “if my body broke then I could heal but I ruined myself” sounds sooorta like shizuo doesn't it? “i broke my own principles and lost the right to love all humans” kiinda reflects the way shizuo feels about loving izaya later on anyways his bleeding hand up to the sunlight looks awesome but also was it meant to also look a bit like a hand coming out of the ground like rebirth izaya running in panic !! my head has been looping “better run better run better run” to the image of izaya running in the rain ch31 i'm !! the transition between izaya tripping over the root and falling in the one panel is neat izaya's haaaands they look so grrrrr the smoke trailing from the crushed cigarette on the ground is really nice framing on that panel!! also lol look how isolated he looks there <3 small and hunched the layout around the gang fight with shizuo the center of aaaall the attention and izaya's panels kinda swept to the side ooough the way that izaya's own fucking sisters are in these “actually miss you” panels and shinra's eyes are obscured by the dialogue

reblog drrr comic shizaya and well a cheap imitation shigaeru unwelcome back izaya i like the movement of him assessing the damage to his face from his hand this really nice panel of his hands enjoy them while they last izaya it's only the beginning of izaya getting tossed all over the place klick klick klick klick klick his tiny form hunched over in >:( hksfdhf ''whoever made these is good'' alright izaya it's not like they've already got you in here mmm the behind shot coupled with the screen panels do a great job of making him feel watched while also framing his long winded monologue because he has to make everything a performance such drama i really like the little contrast between shizuo and izaya's imagination though izaya's rendition of death is a lot more childish and that's funny maybe he should have been given the chalk doodles he was pouting real hard back then look at the little man go that smile is a little infectious izaya looks cute all deep in concentration like that with the faint haze of light illuminating him from below oh no little man is in danger that framing though
