Damn, replicating that pose in big was difficult. And the hand! I just couldn't get it right. It finally ended in me doing a second sketch but I kept trying to draw that hand over the old one and got it right but couldn't get it right on the new one. So, I cut it out and laid it on top.
And now, I think this looks so much cooler, that I'll keep the hand drawn on a separate layer.
Okay I made a sick sketch
It's tiny (like on the corner of my sketchbook) but I saw that pose and I was thinking like, okay this is EXACTLY how it looks when he uses his quirk so I scribbled down the pose and then drew him.
I want to make that in big. With markers. And maybe even make a background. And hang it on the wall to Kirishima and Denki.
And I was also thinking of something funny. The way he would describe how he fights with his quirk:
I can use my quirk as a weapon. Just think of it ... like a table. A table isn't dangerous, right? Then you accidentally drop something beneath it, try to pick it up and while getting back up you hit your head against the table. Although, it's just a table, it still hurts, right?
(I'm not sure if I'll allow him to reshape his forcefields but if I do, he would add:
Now imagine the table being a spikey pyramid...)
I have a new drawing tablet :D
and still a lot of OC's to redesign ...
(and yeah, I'm too lazy for clean lineart and backgrunds.)
Just drew this dude. I think studying the mha artstyle really improved my artstyle. I love him β€οΈ and it didn't really take that long to draw that.
Also, take some sketches I did beforehand:
I don't know his name yet, but I think his quirk would be something with superspeed. (Might call it slowmotion or reverse slowmotion, depends on how I'll make it work.)
I really like the idea that he has always a pair of sunglasses with him, to avoid dust getring into his eyes while in superspeed. And also to be the coolest kid around π
Also his quirk shows in his personality. He's mostly impatient since everything is going too slow for him.
His hero idol is Hawks. He definetly aims to become quicker than him to claim the title as fastest hero.
I am currently trying to draw my characters, but since I kind of struggle with that, I decided to take a break from that today and rather start figuring out how to write about them. Then I realized, it's probably best, if I first introduce the main idea that connects all (/most) of them.
As I started, I had two things: motivation and an idea.
After I played Undertale for the first time, I discovered the huge fandom behind it and realized that the world I loved so much had a whole other dimension to it (literally π). I saw the great content people made, like art or music. That made me plant the little seed of motivation into my head. I was thinking, maybe I could make something that great as well.
That was the moment I started to write a story. I didn't feel too confident to draw anything, so the best thing I could do was write. I was really proud of how it turned out. It was pretty basic and stuck to the normal game. I also had this idea (not the one I was talking about up there, but it's important for where I am now) that I was suppressing, since I wanted to focus on my AU.
One evening, I decided to give that idea a chance and after I kept dreaming the entire night about it, I spent the entire morning putting it into words. The phase after that, I call the downfall. My problem is that I am a perfectionist. So I kept rewriting the chapters until I finally managed to break the story for myself. After ten attempts, an almost finished first chapter with thirty pages, almost a year time spent running in circles and a couple other reasons I finally managed to kind of let go. (I still think there could maybe the possibility that I might be able to tell that story, but for now it's best to leave it behind. I also kind of can't let entirely go. For example: I use the main character in my profile pic π)
After realizing that I needed to stop since it lead nowhere, I needed something new to be obsessed with. While writing, I also wrote down a couple of ideas for potential later characters. And as I reviewed what I had collected, I realized that two of them would fit quite well as a duo. First, I still wanted to include my old character as well, but I let go of that after another month.
Now, that I've explained my motivation, it's time to present my idea! (... why is this becoming so long? π )
I wanted to take the concept of the genocide run in another light. I mean sure, there were so many worlds out there, where people just killed for fun or they didn't have another choice. My first characters lean more into the category of it being an accident. Since this was the main concept I was going by, I called my AU 'Club of Genociders' (by now, I don't really like that name but it still fits and I have currently no better idea how to name it.)
After FINALLY having explained my main concept (and rambling too much π) I can tell that this little idea snowballed into such a huge story. I am still struggling to put it all into words, so I figured it's best to share what I have to avoid making the same mistakes again. but what's most important, I love the way everything is evolving. From the characters, over the storyline to major plot twists. I also realized that I keep adding new possible characters to the story (not sure if I'll include them all though. That really depends on how the story turns out.)
If you made it this far, thanks for reading π (I really didn't want to make it that long π )
Do you sometimes also have the feeling after just drawing a sketch of your OC like, damn, he looks too good.
Look at this goofball:
Not sure if I liie what I did with the nose on the left one, but trying to adapt the mha-noses to more realistic proportions and it looked in most cases allright I think? Got to try it out a little more.
BUT that's my design for my OC Space, seventh Guardian and Guardian of Space (Yeah, I need to figure out a name AND a backstory for him. Still don't have a clue if I go more fantasy or realistic about this storywise.)
He's an energetic little goofball and he and he and Blake (not sure, did I post about him already? I think I have.) Are siblings. Well, they think they are, because they look the same and both joined the Guardians at the same time. In reality, they are just alternate versions of the same person from different enviroments.
Currently trying to figure out all of my characters of my story. And geez, I have too many XD (12 is many ...)
Tried that already before but now I'm trying to figure out thier faces first and after that what they're wearing.
Had a couple good sketches and thought this might be a good oportunity to ramble a bit about them.
So, first off, we have the main villain. (I originally called him Shadow but I am now thinking about a different name. Currently, I wrote down Lord Astaroth Ophidian but not sure if that stays) His color scheme is going to be red and black and what I love most about him is his hair. It goes over in black mist.
I actually haven't thought in detail over his powers but he can move through shadows. Due to his hair emitting shadows, he's able to teleport through different universes. Maybe I might include something like illusions but I need to make sure they're not too similar to another ability from my cast.
I'm not entirely sure about his motives yet, but he wants to overthrow the guardians and wants world domination (I guess for now, but this might also change, as I am trying to figure out the entire story again.)
(And he's currently smiling but he wouldn't hesitate to break your neck.)
(Fun Fact: I gave him the nickname Disney Princess because of his floaty hair XD Just imagine someone walking up to someone killing and manipulating others and saying, "ey, what's up, princess?" I could already imagine a specific character doing that ... and ending up dead XD)
(And another fun fact: I was thinking about to call the villains the 'high-five' that would be so funny XD)
And here we have my sweetie, Senti. She's the second guardian, the guardian of feelings.
Her concept is really interesting. As guardian of feelings, she's able to recognise others' emotions and even manipulate them. But due to being a child, she's not able to control her abilities properly. That means she is mostly affected by the emotions of the people she looks at and feels the same.
That also means that when someone shouts at her and is mad, she mirrors the emotion and even amplifies the one it came from to be even madder (I hope you write it like that XD)
Another cute part of the design, what you cannot see in the sketch is, that her eyes are originally greyish silver but change colour depending on the emotion she's feeling (either own or perceived)
Currently WIP for a drawing competition I want to participate. The theme of the competition is 'villain'. I still need to figure out the background in more detail and then I can start the actual drawing (and yes, I still consider this as a sketch. Just a pretty detailed one.π€£)
I have also never been drawing this long on a single drawing (an entire week). Normally, I finish a drawing in a couple of hours or in half a day. Still got a week left to finish that thingπ.
I finally got over my art block π
The key was, to draw something different than what I was struggling with. I was so frustrated and at the same time fixed on drawing the face right, that I didn't realize that I had no fun doing that. After my mother asked me why I don't draw something different than faces, I drew her a couple of trees to prove that I could draw something different. after that I continued with the trees and realized that I was missing fun while drawing. Thanks for that, momπ
I was listening to one of my usual playlists and then I had this scene once again in my head. I thought, why not try to draw it and it turned out amazing π€© I really need to draw more backgrounds, it's fun. I was also able to put my perfectionsim aside for that one. It's so imperfect that it makes it perfect again.
In this picture, you see my oc Ike. Since I don't want this post to get too long, I will introduce you to his backstory another time.
And done! So glad I choose pencils for the hair. Also picked one or two times the wrong color but I guess it's rarely noticable.
Here the links for the lineart and the sketch.
Thank you β€οΈ
