In which the best friend gets the job she wants, leading to throwing a house party

It had been a few weeks since I graduated. I had met the 'vlog squad' and absolutely loved them. I had applied to a few jobs and did some interviews, the one that I mainly wanted let me work from home.

The day had been full of laughing and the boys filming skits when my phone rang the special ringtone I set for the job I applied to. I jumped up and made my way towards the spare room that David told me to call my own, yet I refuse to. I quickly answered brightly, "hello?" "Hi is this Ms.Dalilah Lovex?" I smile big even though she can't see me, "this is she." "This is Ms.Holland from Holland Inc (totally not made up;))I'm happy to inform you that you have the news collum on our website if you still want it." I tried to contain my happiness as I answer, "yes! Yes, I still want the job. Thank you so much!" She laughs, "of course. I'll send you the email Mondays on your topic that's due Fridays. Glad to have you on board. You'll also be getting an email on payment plan for your work." I nod, "yes ma'am. Thank you so much." "Talk to you soon." "Okay, bye," I smile as I hang up let out a squeal and did my happy dance before running into the living room and jumping on the couch next to Natalie, "guess what." "Chicken butt," she asks making me laugh and shake my head. "You know the interview with Holland Inc?" She nods, "the stay at home article?" Nodding I smile big, "I got the job." She gasps and turns to me, "oh my God," she yells catching everyone's attention, "you got the fucking job!" She hugs me making me laugh, I laugh harder when everyone starts clapping. David smiles big from behind the camera having caught it all because of them filming a skit, "now you can pay rent." Natalie laughs, "she does your laundry and keeps your messy house clean. I'm pretty sure that's paying rent as is." He nods, still smiling big, "yeah fair point." My heart beats faster, but of course I don't think anything of it. "Oh, we should celebrate," Zane yells, "a good old fashioned vlog Squad house party!"

He raised a brow and grabbed my hand pulling me in. After the door was closed he pulled me along and up to his room, ignoring Fiona's questions.

Once we got there he closed his door and went to his closet as I stayed by the door, "here go change and we'll ta-" a sob escaped my mouth as I slid down the door. He dropped the clothes and immediately made it to my side and pulled me in, "what happened Callie? Do I need to beat him to a pulp?" I sniffled and wiped my eyes, "first he was an hour late, then he walked in with Karyn Darcy. He told me since I didn't put out he didn't fucking want me. I was fucking humiliated. Half the cheer squad was there. How could I -hickup- be so stupid?!" I sobbed again making him pull me closer and growl, "I'll fucking kill him. You're not stupid Cal, he is. He should appreciate you not sleeping around. At least you don't have half the diseases Karyn Darcy has." I cried lightly shaking my head, "I decide to let myself go on one fucking date and it's shit." He smiled lightly, "how about I take you on a date? Show him that you're not just a piece of meat."

My heart stopped abd my mind went frenzy. Carl Gallagher, my best friend, the guy I've been crushing on since middle school, just asked me on a date. I sniffled and picked my head up to look into his eyes, "really?" He nodded, "and maybe if you like it I can take you on another, maybe even ask you to be my girl?" I smiled lightly and nodded, "ye- yeah. Carl, I'd like that."
