I want to make a collection of these for each servamp but take these so far
Have fun with these
Recently I’ve been talking about Servamp a lot to a couple of trusted friends and it’s made me realize something: Explaining Servamp to someone who’s never heard of it or doesn’t know very much about it… is actually SURPRISINGLY DIFFICULT?? /lh
First of all the first thing I’m always asked to explain is how to spell it and what the name means and I’m out here internally thinking to myself “how am I gonna get myself out of this one boys” because I have to explain that Servamp literally is just “servant” and “vampire” combined and I think from an outside perspective that’s probably a VERY bad first impression because… you know…
Another thing is also explaining the plot without spoilers because basically I sound like I’m saying “Okay so the protagonist gets in a fight with a vampire and he ends up having to make a contract with the vampire that he picked up himself on the street”, and from chapter 1 up to 118 everything’s got darker and WAY more intense. There’s also the vast plot and dramaturgical differences between the anime and the manga so unless they’re looking for spoilers I have to ever so subtly explain how we got from what I wondered was gonna be an action comedy to receiving extreme emotional damage every chapter as well as emphasize the value of watching both the anime and the manga as they sometimes feel like two completely projects but charming in their own ways
There’s also one more warning that I always have to give out about a certain someone…. do you know who the warning’s about?
Yeah I’m talking about Lily
I MEAN… DO I GIVE THE WARNING AND CONCERN MY LISTENER RIGHT AWAY?? OR POTENTIALLY SCAR THEM WHEN THEY’RE READING OR WATCHING SERVAMP FOR THE FIRST TIME?? It’s either I explain “you’re gonna see a half naked man on screen in volume 1/episode 2 doing what seems to be flirting but isn’t actually flirting” or I let them come to me being like “WHY IS THERE A HALF NAKED MAN ON SCREEN FLIRTING”
Servamp is my favorite manga actually so I love it with all my heart (I even have a WIP 200 slide google slides presentation on it if anybody wants to see it when I finish it). Servamp out of context though is very interesting per se because I’m sure that I’m not the only person here who’s noticed these things and if anything they’re actually HILARIOUS TO THINK ABOUT
In summary I love Servamp and it’s even better when you get to be the one explaining it
Throwback to the time I started reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and then I read this
and honestly that’s almost exactly how I first described Hyde in volume 5 of Servamp as much as I hate to say it
I love Servamp so much but if Strike draws Lily in butterfly form again or re-uses the same birthday picture of him that they’ve been using for more than five years I’m going to be ever so slightly upset due to the fact that he’s my favorite and I want to see his face and it’s even more rare to see Lily in the new art style… Yes I do think he’s been very heavily neglected and he deserves more content
When Jeje’s bags come off he’s gonna pull up like this
Im SO scared of the possibility that when Jeje's bag comes off it's gonna reveal he doesnt have bangs and we're all gonna get blasted with a bare naked forehead
I’m playing bowling with my sister and my cousin on Nintendo Switch Sports and we’re playing special mode… let’s say I’m not doing very well with this mode and I took the longest to get a strike so this conversation went down
Sister: No strike?
Me: The only strike I have draws (probably gay) vampires every month
With proper evidence and analysis, I have a theory….. and I spent time fact-checking this analysis (since I originally I figured this out a couple of months back). My findings tell me that Licht’s Nintendo DS is a Nintendo DSi.
For reference, here is what Licht’s DS looks like:
In order to narrow down our answers, first we have to figure out: which ones were already released during the events of Servamp?
From what I can best guess, the events of the C3 arc and everything up until chapter 118 takes place in August of 2012? From what I know, Servamp (or at least the Japanese release of it) was originally released in November of 2011, and the main story’s technology seemed to line up with the technology present in real life at the time. For the most part, it’s easy to find details that point out the date or present spot on the calendar while reading but…. with years, not so much. Also, I can’t find very much on how much of a time skip there was before or after volume 4. However, I do know that on August 31st, 2012, there actually was a full moon, just like what is supposed to happen in the manga (mentioned in chapter 100 I believe, where Tsurugi was discussing with Mahiru some information he learned from Touma). Going with this information, I will be using the estimate for the current events of the manga, which will help us narrow down what generations of Nintendo DS were released before late August 2012.
Here are the ones that I could find that fit in the time frame:
Nintendo DS (November 2004)
Nintendo DS Lite (June 2006)
Nintendo DSi (November 2008)
Nintendo DSi XL (November 2009)
Nintendo 3DS (March 2011)
Nintendo 3DS XL (July 2012)
Now what I did next with this was analyze the shape of each of these DS models and eliminate any of them without the rectangular shape of Licht’s DS. Due to their far rounder edges and overall thicknesses, I eliminated the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS XL as a possibility. Now, that leaves us with the Nintendo DSLite, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, and the Nintendo 3DS.
Here is where I thought I reached a crossroad. I thought to myself, “What else is there? What else can I use to differentiate them?”
And then, in a moment of astute observance, I had a realization. I could investigate the volume control.
Right off the bat, I knew I could eliminate the Nintendo DSLite. That is due to the fact that the volume control on Licht’s DS is a set of two buttons, placed on the left side of the DS. On the Nintendo DSLite, however, the volume control is a slider on the bottom of the device. Also, I was able to eliminate the Nintendo 3DS, because although its volume control is on the side of the device, it comes in the form of a slider.
Now, I’m left with the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo DSi XL. From what I found, the main difference between the two is the size of the screen. Considering that I found that Licht’s DS is drawn with a notably smaller screen, I don’t think that is could have been the XL version.
And now…. that means we’ve finally reached the last possible option. The only DS that could have fit the requirements by the date and the DS features…. is the DSi model. Therefore, I believe that Licht Jekylland Todoroki’s Nintendo DS model is the Nintendo DSi.
Do with this what you will and thank you for reading through my absolutely bonkers analysis/theory/headcanon/ramble
Reading the chapter 122 posts are so funny to me because the entire fandom (including me) have been waiting for Lily to start playing a role in the story again and then his immediate action is getting the entire fandom to hate him in a single swing
I AM SO LATE TO THIS BUT I AM NOW HERE TO PUBLISH MAHIRU BIRTHDAY ART
HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY MAHIRU
I think I know where I’ve seen this before
Oddly enough yeah this right here is what I thought of
Strike seems to be a big fan of “killing” a character off and then waiting for the fans to turn it into an Ace Attorney court case and say
𝙷𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚖𝚢 (𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚕𝚢 𝚂𝚎𝚛𝚟𝚊𝚖𝚙) 𝚒𝚗𝚏𝚘𝚍𝚞𝚖𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚙𝚊𝚐𝚎 (𝙰𝚗𝚢 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚜)
