My parents are conservatives and watch Fox News 24/7. I just saw an ad FOR KOSA saying it would help stop kids from preventing suicide due to content online, which is not at all true or what the bill is even about. The bill is about tracking you and everyone else in the United States by what they look at online and shutting down any websites that contain content the government doesn’t agree with, including sites with queer content like ao3.

If you value ao3 or ANY of the resources the internet gives you, call your senators and tell them not to vote for KOSA. Because you know the conservatives are calling in support.

STAR WARS CELEBRATION 2020 ART SHOW | Be With Me

STAR WARS CELEBRATION 2020 ART SHOW | Be With Me

“In my work, I frequently reference iconic moments from the Star Wars universe and reimagine them in new ways to present them from a different perspective, such as the ‘Rey’s Abduction’ and ‘Mourning for Padmé’ illustrations that I created for previous Star Wars Celebrations. Continuing this tradition, I thought this time around it would be interesting to tackle the scene from Rise of Skywalker in which Rey is training on the jungle moon of Ajan Kloss. Rey repeats ‘Be with me’ over and over as she floats above the ground, inviting the Jedi of the past to speak to her. Frustrated, she feels as though she might never be able to hear their voices. But as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker had once said, ‘No one’s ever really gone,’ and even though Rey was not aware of it, I believe she had never truly been alone. A thousand generations of Jedi lived within her, watching over her and guiding her. Rey was able to draw upon their wisdom, bravery, and strength, and ultimately summoned the courage to face her destiny.” — Erik Maell

La mejor elección.

Tal vez enamorarme de ti no fue la mejor elección, a este paso me dejaras hecha pedazos, me matas de amor lentamente. Me haces desangrar, haces que mi corazón muera a cada minuto que pasa.

It’s the Order66neverhappened AU!!!! So I had this idea for the clones that after the war and Palps’ death the clones kept serving the republic but with other mansions, like humanitarian missions to provide aid to civilians etc (pretty much whatever the military does except for war? I can’t explain myself very well fjskfjd i’m sorry) But they can also retire and live a well deserved normal life if they want, let’s just say they are finally treated like individual humans and not numbers 😭 And I had this concept of an official ceremony uniform because I love uniforms, so I tried to come up with a decent design even tho i have ZERO knowledge of military ranks and It was hell so please forgive me if It looks horrible!!! I tried to mix the design of the US Navy, star trek and Imperials uniforms with each clone’s personalized decorations fjskdj please have mercy I’m so embarassed but I tried my best, I really did 😔

+ bonus concept sketches!!!!

TIL that the reason lead levels in children’s blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.

Queen Snippet For Today:

Queen snippet for today:

Julian’s expression was nakedly vulnerable. “Unless you don’t feel that way about me anymore,” he said. “If you’d stopped loving me, I wouldn’t blame you.”

“I guess that would solve our problem,” Emma said, without thinking.

Julian flinched.

You know how sometimes you catch someone in a lie, and so they tell an even bigger lie to try and cover up the first lie they told?

Well, that’s happening right now.

Last winter, a handful of celebrity doctors went on mainstream news networks to assure us that Omicron was “mild.” They carpet-bombed us with articles and tweets, doing their best to brainwash everyone.

They were wrong.

In the end, real science junked that idea. An article in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that Omicron killed more people than previous variants, even when adjusting for other factors. Another study by doctors at Massachusetts General and Harvard Medical found that Omicron was just as deadly. In fact, “the risks of hospitalization and mortality were nearly identical.” As it turns out, the entire idea of “mild” Omicron was based on an old, flawed idea known as the law of declining virulence, developed by a doctor who was studying tick-borne disease in cows. It was debunked decades ago.

Most epidemiologists know that viruses don’t magically evolve to become milder. Virus evolution is random and chaotic.

In some cases, viruses evolve to become more deadly.

A handful of actual scientists tried to explain all this last winter, including disease experts at Johns Hopkins. A handful of other established experts spoke out against this myth. As a microbiologist at Penn State told Politifact, “You can’t just say it’s going to become nicer.” They were largely ignored, because everyone already sort of believed the misinformation. If they knew it was based on a study about cows, they probably would’ve thought twice.

This year, the makers of “it’s mild” are back.

They’re selling “immunity debt.”

We should be skeptical.

Schools and daycares are sending letters home to parents talking about this “immunity debt.” They’re saying that healthy children are getting sicker, even dying, because they weren’t exposed to enough germs over the last two years. Newspapers and TV stations across the country are running with it, proposing it as a “possible reason” for this year’s explosion in pediatric hospitalizations. Meanwhile, major medical organizations have sent a letter to President Biden urging him to declare an emergency over an “alarming surge of pediatric hospitalizations” due to a range of respiratory viruses, including Covid.

A lot of people are drinking the “immunity debt” kool-aid.

After all, Americans have believed for generations that getting sick is “good for you.” We think our immune system behaves like a muscle. We worry that if we’re not giving it a workout, we’ll get weak.

It’s a myth, just like the law of declining virulence.

Here’s why.
