For everyone here on my Tumblr I need y’all to stop what you’re doing and really lock in to the genocide happening in Gaza right now. I will post as many links as I can but the best you can do right now is be loud as fuck! About this.
TLDR Isreal has cut off all water, electricity and telecommunications within Gaza in a complete blackout and Gaza has lost their voice. Israel has already threatened to bomb Al Shifa hospital, which is currently a shelter for around 50k-60k Palestinians. These are images of Gaza Strip from an HOUR AGO. They are literally slaughtering and wiping out generations of Palestinians as we speak.
Please I need to see y’all talking about this and being loud for Palestine. Your anime yaoi twink hyperfixation will still be here tomorrow but literally thousands of innocent people may not.
So I know this isn’t our main concern right now but am I the only one who thinks the Akutagawa siblings make really hot vampires lmao
The reads
Searows house song // Jody Chan sick (via @geryone ) // Iain S. Thomas i wrote this for you // Lucy Dacus My mother & i // Kaven Akbar “calling a wolf a wolf” // unknown // Fernando Pessoa a little larger than the entire universe // Julien baker vanishing point // Lisa Marie Basile i put the coffin out to sea // boygenius souvenir
Its an extended break, so you know what that means.
Okay so, not only does the sardonic nature of Magnus’ outlook on the whole death and gods deal, as well as the humor and descriptive writing give the book character and makes it completely awesome, but it is one of the most diverse books ever! All the (main) characters seem to be a part of a marginalized group. Magnus was homeless, Alex is gender fluid, Samirah is Muslim, Hearthstone is deaf, a lot of the other characters are POCs and that’s just getting started. Not only are minorities being represented, but their ways are respected and talked about in a causal manner. Characters ask about Alex’s pronouns, Sam’s Islamic customs are respected and talked about (like the rules of Ramadan, her praying, how she will take off her hijab around family). And these guys aren’t just stuck in for inclusion, they are given character depth and complex personalities and goals, and their skin/gender/orientation/religion is integrated into the story and ahhh I love it so much. Rock Riordan’s books have always been inclusive, but this is the best instance so far and I hope other authors follow the lead. THIS is how to write about diversity, people.
