I get the feeling that the 'den' im remembering has been around for a while though. it's down the hall and down a set of stairs on the left from Wheeljack's lab. the light is always off, Prowl seems to live there/j. there's a crybertronian-sized(like everything else) couch n tv and stuff. Bee plays games there, there's Star's uhh,, homebrew things around and taking up a desk. all n all, very homey. it's a cooler living room

Idk, I came up with it bc I always struggled to differentiate “me who’s a fictive sourced from VotV” and “the videogame model used in VotV” or, more generally, “this world’s characterization and usage of that character” versus “me the actual living/thinking person” yk?

It’s almost functioned for me like how “theriform” works for nonhumans, the distinction being made without getting into dysphoric “the ‘real’ you” terms or, just always having to explain it so exhaustingly bc “the one from the game” could be either of us

i keep seeing misinformation about this, so: queerplatonic relationships do not have a set definition. the name comes from the idea that it's "queering" the platonic relationship, tailoring it to the individual relationships' own desires. it isn't necessarily romance lite, but it also isn't necessarily whatever definition you want to impose on it. the point of queering the platonic relationship is to break away from strict allonormative views on friendship, romance, and sex, not to make a new categorical box to fit in.

the answer to "what is a qpr?" is "whatever you want it to be." sometimes that is romance lite. sometimes it's a deeply committed friendship. sometimes it's friends who have a sexual relationship. sometimes it's based on an entirely different mode of attraction. sometimes it's fluid and impossible to put into words. it's whatever you want it to be. it's queer.
