You know, nothing could convince me that Ginny wrote the valentine’s poem in Chamber of Secrets. Absolutely nothing. That is 100% an on-brand Draco Malfoy ‘ploy’ (okay) to ‘piss off’ (sure) his ‘rival’ (uh huh).
I mean, first of all, we pretty much always get a Dramatic & Cunning Draco Prank in the books (until he gets older and shit starts getting more real). Not so much in book one — he was still in Planning and Seething Mode™️ — but after that, Draco was like:
Year two: Stay up all night composing the perfect valentine poem to embarrass and annoy Potter
Year three: Stay up all night making Dementor costumes to scare and piss off Potter
Year four: Stay up all night making Potter Stinks badges because I’m so well-adjusted about him and barely think of him at all, actually
Also, I’ve talked about this before, but it really just doesn’t sound like Ginny. Why would she compare his eyes to pickled toads? (Meanwhile, Draco would 100% do that.) Why would she refer to the ‘Dark Lord’, when we only see Voldemort referred to as that by death eaters? And she had so much shit going on at the time, and was terrified of the gaps in her memory and what was happening — I don’t think she was writing love poems.
And really, it’s the fact that Malfoy is the one to act like Ginny wrote it. Which tells me two things:
He’s noticed Ginny’s crush and dislikes it (and is jealous/angry at her about it….. like why else would he care?? why would he notice???)
He’s deflecting attention from himself as the actual author of the poem
I can just totally see Malfoy finding out about Lockhart’s valentine idea, scoffing at Crabbe and Goyle and being like “that’s so stupid”, but then thinking about it later and telling himself “this is the perfect way to embarrass Potter.” Twelve year old Draco staying up late in his four poster bed, coming up with hilarious rhymes for his not-at-all-romantic love poem….. I see it. I see the vision.
*you opening the love letter* what does your damijon look like, pls pls pls pls pls pls pls, i know it would be so cute, i just know it 🙏🙏🙏

I’m back with another alternate take on a regularly used salt trope. In this case, we’ll be looking at the one/s where when persons in the class decide to openly refuse to be Marinette’s friends, they eventually find out that in doing so, they’ve given up all the things she would normally do for them. Free pastries, free dresses, free interviews with Ladybug, etc.
But what I’ve yet to see anyone consider is what the former friends have done for Marinette and the effect the sudden lack of this would have.
Particularly in regards to the Adrinette shipping and pressuring Marinette to confess before she’s ready. And the effect of the sudden LACK of that.
Namely, SHENANIGANS.
Hear me out:
Imagine if you would, that the girls in the class have enough of Marinette “bullying” Lila and thus openly drop all friendship with her, making it clear they want nothing to do with her. They know full well that this means the end of some of the nice things she’s done for them, but in their minds, they’ve done more for her so she’ll really be the one losing out.
Marinette is sad.
Adrien sees she is sad and comforts her.
This makes the girls realize that Marinette is still crushing on Adrien and given how much of a “bully” she is, she doesn’t deserve him. They instead decide that Liladrien is the way to go and that it is their duty as her best friends to help her.
Lila knows fully well that Adrien is aware she is a liar and is not happy with her. She is sure she can change his mind, but she needs time and proper planning to set things up for her to get on his “good side”.
Neither of which her new girlfriends allow her.
They take her hesitancy for lack of confidence and attempt to encourage her. They refuse to let her “give up” on her true love! They also go out of their way to try and force Lila and Adrien together at every opportunity.
At. Every. Opportunity.
Class needs to partner up for an assignment? Suddenly Lila is shoved in Adrien’s way.
Lunchtime? They start out together as a “group” and then suddenly all have urgent matters to attend to and now Adrien and Lila are sitting alone together.
Lila needs anything? They push Adrien to help her. Which he does, because he’s a cool guy who will help out when asked.
Every time anything is happening, Adrien is suddenly stuck with Lila.
Marinette is understandably hurt and upset.
And Adrien is confused. But annoyed.
Mostly annoyed.
He doesn’t know what the girls are doing, but manages to catch on that whenever they approach him, it’s going to have something to do with Lila. So Adrien starts taking to avoiding them.
Except Adrien is Adrien. Who is an anime nerd. And a dork.
So his ways of avoiding them are a bit…extreme.
Like the time he hides in a broom closet.
Or the time he dives into a bush.
Or the time he jumps out a two story window.
He starts abusing his Chat Noir identity to escape them.
“Chat Noir! Have you seen Adrien?”
Quick! Play dumb!
“What’s an Adrien?”
Not that dumb!
And in the midst of all this, Adrien finds one source of sanity.
That source just happens to be Marinette. The ONLY GIRL who won’t try to force him to be around Lila. And whom he can vent to about her antics.
Adrien starts taking to hiding out at the Dupain-Cheng Bakery, where none of the girls dare to enter. It becomes his only refuge. A safe place where he can eat pastries and play video games. And a friend is there with him!
Marinette, for her part, admittedly struggled with her friends gone. She was depressed for a good few days. Lonely and bored as well. In her boredom, she used the extra free time to make more clothes. And…found herself actually being more productive. Neat! Well, it sucks because she’s lonely, but it’s at least a nice distraction. And she manages to get more commissions done. Especially since the loss of her friendships means she doesn’t need to follow through on their previous requests or the gifts she was making for them.
It’s lonely, but it gives her time to reflect and focus on herself. And it turns out that while she misses them, not being around them as much has actually helped her stress and anxiety since there’s suddenly no outside pressure to confess to Adrien. No one pushing her into being with him when she’s not ready. And no one to judge her attempts or failures.
It’s actually kind of peaceful.
Which is when Adrien starts turning to her for support and sanity.
He comes into the locker room, begging her to hide him. Without a second thought, she puts him in her locker and tells the irritated girls questioning her that he went out the other door.
Alya comes into the class during break and asks if Adrien is around. Marinette shrugs, pointedly ignoring his presence under her desk and his anxious grip on her legs.
He needs a safe place to hide after school until his bodyguard can pick him up? He finds refuge at the Bakery. And snacks! And games! And a friend! A very good friend.
Somehow, without the interference from the girls, Marinette is calmer around Adrien. Still anxious, sure. But there’s now no one pressuring her to confess when she’s not ready like the outpouring of her feelings is supposed to be a race instead of a genuine moment. There’s also no one to enable her crazier antics. She’s still crushing on him, but it mellows out.
Adrien in turn starts to see more of the Ladybug in Marinette. Which he can’t help but think is cute. Which has him worried his heart is cheating on Ladybug.
Plagg’s advice of “seduce her” doesn’t help.
The girls meanwhile, only make the Liladrien attempts worse. Lila is getting frustrated because their plans are interfering with her plans. Not to mention that with them always hovering around her, she’s having a harder time coming up with new lies and keeping them all straight. Nor is she able to get an akuma and help Hawk Moth. And since the antics of the girls are doing more to keep her away from Adrien than get close to him, Gabriel is losing any inclination to keep her around.
And worse is that through all this, Adrien and Marinette are only getting closer. (The fact he has been making time to come hang out with her as Chat Noir isn’t helping with that…or his steadily growing crush on her)
It all comes to a head one day in class when the girls are plotting yet another Liladrien attempt…
And Adrien and Marinette enter the classroom holding hands.
some hp bookmarks I made up to sell at oz comic con this weekend; marauders, golden, silver, and slytherin trios. if ur gonna be there come say hi!
DC Super Hero Girls has given me many things. But by far my favorite thing is they have the best incarnation of Bruce Wayne. And I say that not as like oh this is 10000% who Batman is.
No. I mean they have the best version of billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. Better than even the movies have gotten for one sole reason;
I want you to take one look at this bougie himbo, one fucking look,
And tell me who in their right mind would believe this man is the goddamned Batman.
He is too pretty. Too well put together. Too big a himbo. Too covered in fucking camera crews and groupies to ever pull it off. No one would ever even fucking consider this gem of a man could do it!
But he does and it works so fucking well.
And, oh my God, it's my new favorite thing.
sometimes i love how funny i am
go check it out!!!
You know the Grimm version of Snow White makes more sense than most versions if only because in that version Snow White was like 7 years old.
Literally whipped this up in like 10 minutes, so it's terrible. Anyway;
At age 8, it was like all of the barriers that had been erected had come down in one fell swoop.
He was Damian Al-Ghul Wayne, son of the Bat, Ibn Al Xu'ffasch. He was Danny Fenton, the hero Phantom of Amity Park, King of the Infinite Realms.
He was both. He was neither.
He was an assassin. He was half a ghost.
He was both. He was neither.
Wait. Where was Phantom? Where was his other half? Where was his counterpoint, his soul mate?
He didn’t have time to worry about him though – his personality change had been noticed, despite utilising the rigorous training that had been taught to him in this life. His Mother – Talia? Maddie? Which was his? – chalked this up to his father citing his soft heart.
Ha. What would she think if he told her that he remembered another set of memories? What would Grandfather think if he told them he was half a King?
No, best to hide the information, until he could reunite with Phantom.
He was sent to his Father, the Bat, to receive training. Who was his father? Bruce, with his mission of cleaning up Gotham? Jack, with his mission of hunting down ghosts?
Both. Neither.
Gotham, with its shadows, with its violence was as different to Amity Park as it could be. One man, and his sidekicks cleaning up the grime and the despair that seemed to fill it up to the brim. The rogues here were so different to what he was used to, to what he remembered. Joker, instead of Freakshow. Poison Ivy instead of Undergrowth. Mad Hatter instead of Nocturne.
They were so similar yet so unlike.
He grows up, looking for a moment where he can finally look for Phantom; where he can hunt down a natural portal and embark on a quest to find his wayward partner. He waits, biding his time. Phantom had waited thus far; he can wait a couple more years.
He walks through the Zone, hearing from other ghosts of a ruler who reigns over the Realms with an iron fist; a ruler who although isn’t violent isn’t kind. It makes him smile to think that he – Damian Wayne, titled ‘Demon Brat’ – is the one who was essentially the moral compass of the two.
As he gets closer to Phantom’s Keep, there is so much nostalgia, so many mementos of his old life. A telescope that he loved, a constellation that he was particularly fond of. The love that Phantom had for Danny Fenton was quite literally palpable here.
And then they meet. There is still a bond between them, despite the many years apart, despite the burden of kingship on Phantom.
They were different, sure – unable to fuse as they once could before, but they still knew each other, inside and out. They embrace, talking, crying, laughing. Something that Damian didn’t know was missing was filled in, a perpetual ache gone.
He was Damian Al-Ghul Wayne. He was Danny Fenton.
He was both. He was neither. He knew who he was.
He was one half of Danny Phantom.
Danny's human half dying as collateral during a fight. That human half goes into reincarnation and is reborn as Damian Wayne. He isn't born with all of his memories but he definitely feels that something is wrong. they would get their Memories Back at about 8 and have a horrible time dealing with being an assassin. Danny would try to stick to the personality they already had before but there's definitely slip-ups of them being like yeah this is wrong and Talia thinks they take after their father because of it.
The first thing Danny does when they're not being monitored by their mom or the bat family is to look for Phantom. Phantom to have run away to the ghost Zone and has built a reputation as a merciless ruler. He's a good ruler and he's not a tyrant but he doesn't have the reputation of kindness. Damien as the moral compass of the duo is really funny to me.
There's a situation later that involves ghosts which is where Danny/Damian and Phantom meet again. I want there to be a very big misunderstanding that heroes think Phantom is obsessed with Damien but in reality they are literally other halves of a soul. Phantom keeps doing and saying things that no one else would get away with around Damien. Phantom would be saying things like making fun of his height or giving him nicknames but as far as anyone else sees Davian doesn't even flinch.
Danny/Damian and Phantom have lived Separate Lives for a while so they don't automatically fuse into one person. I think they would fuse for a few hours just to feel themselves be one Soul again but they have Separate Lives so they can't stay that way. The bat family is very concerned with Damien continuing to talk to the obsessive ghost that keeps possessing his body.
arranged marriage daminette but instead of being lovey dovey they're just chill about it but they never tell anyone
like one day mari goes "oh my husband likes this shade of green" and adrien's like "ur husband??? you're married??" and mari doesn't even bat an eyelash, "yeah i got kidnapped by assassins and was forced into a magical blood-bound marriage contract with their heir. we meet like a few times a year to clobber each other with swords and sewing needles. pretty fun."
meanwhile, the batfam can't figure out if damian's joking about his wife or not because there is no way he made it all up just to mess with them
also dami would just randomly go "i miss my wife"
"YOUR WHAT-"
