So I had every intention of being magical yesterday. I really did. But then my sister had an anxiety attack and I was up until 10:25 trying to help her out and I forgot to do the dishes so that was another 10 minutes and I had to scrub a pan, do the laundry, and knock out the last of my homework so I just.. flopped down and slept at 11:15. I will do an anti anxiety spell when I get home, so my sister will feel safe. ☺️
I’m just a baby witch, and I don’t do crazy stuff, but if you’re in the closet like me, I hope I can help, even though I mostly reblog.
Hi, everyone! Yes, this is another ‘reblog if…’ but this one comes with a twist. Whilst my own dashboard is definitely dry lately, it’s also becoming increasingly obvious that the witchblr community in general is beginning to become less active. There are lots of reasons, of course, but rather than focus on the issue, I want to focus on a solution.
If you are an active witch blog, divination blog, religious blog, or anything in between that finds themselves here on witchblr, I have two things I want you to do!
Reblog this post and maybe say a little about yourself and your blog. But, also tag/mention blogs that you think are really wonderful and active! Again, I want this to branch out to many different kinds of bloggers. New witches, seasoned witches, brujas, european witches, root workers, hoodoo practitioners, you name it. This community is about diversity and personal pathways. It’s time to big each other up.
My humble recommendations are: @thepastelpriestess @powerpriestess @shadow-of-wings @will-o-the-witch @nightshadeandroses @witches-ofcolor @ener-chi @luna-di-fuoco @mercury-minded @urbanspellcraft @upthewitchypunx @hermeticimp @divineclecticism @themagickcat @themanicnami @underworldpriestess @ancestralmedicinemagic @she-who-treads-on-water @shintowitchling and probably even more amazing practitioners I have forgotten. Each of these people are so knowledgeable and kind, and often give to our little online community here. I love reading/seeing their content and I know you will too.
Not just this month, every month, but I do want to maybe try to encourage February to be a really good month for sharing and creation. It doesn’t have to be a long post, it doesn’t even have to have a theme. Just share. Tell people what you’ve been up to, or explain a personal revelation you’ve had. Ask for tips on a spell you’re working on. One thing we’ve lost on witchblr is a sense of personal identities, probably after months of silly discourse making people shy away. But here’s the thing… Witchcraft is personal.
If anyone more media savvy has any great ideas for this, please add on. All I can think is to share, and maybe ask some interesting questions to blogs you admire! I don’t mean the usual stuff, but maybe ask ‘What is something you always put into your spells?’ or ‘What’s your personal take on how magic works?’ - something which is interesting and allows us all to find our places again.
I am really interested in seeing what we all end up making or writing, so if you want to share some personal ideas, or find others wanting to create a more active witchblr again, we can use the tag #WakingWitchblr. Talk about your blog on it, write ‘reblog if’ posts to find likewise people, ask an interesting questions. Let’s just… Be again, people!
Much love, stay blessed. ✨
So if you must know, I’m part Czech. My father was raised in a town split 50/50 Italian and Czech immigrants and their descendants. He married my mum, who was a very impressionable beginner chef, and once she discovered this specific combination of spices from his mum, she put it in most of the food I and my family ate- and I would add that no one banned freaking GARLIC or ONION, or BASIL, which I ALSO used a lot of.
Here’s the combo:
Salt (always)
Black pepper (duh)
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Basil
Paprika- smoked or sweet, it don’t matter, depends on the dish.
There you have it- go get paprika banned at your houses!
The next 5 are done!!
They’re the Tower, the Devil, Temperance, Death, and the Hanged Man!

Hello! I’m wondering if I could ask you for some guidance. I’ve been a pagan for over ten years, and once even (briefly) met a satyr. However, I have had an incredibly difficult time tracking down reputable Fae-related resources, or any information at all as to how to begin working with them, what to do/avoid, how to identify them, etc. I don’t know how to discern what resources are useful or accurate, especially since my third eye is more or less sealed shut. I have a particular interest in the Cú Sidhe, but any resources at all you’d be able to recommend on the Fae in general would be incredibly helpful, and I would be eternally grateful for any and all help in my search. Thank you so much for any help, and if there’s something I can offer in exchange, please feel free to let me know! 💕
Well, I’m honored and flattered that you’d ask me for assistance! In my experience and practice, it’s best to find some OLD faerie lore- start there. You know the stuff: “Don’t thank the faeries! Leave them bread with honey and milk! Put a horseshoe over your door! Wooooooo!” It’s the best place to start. Then, if you meet faeries, they’ll generally let you know what’s actually a thing- mostly by laughing their asses off.
I personally have never met a Cú Sidhe, so I don’t actually know much about them aside from the basics: big dogs, often reputed to be ill omens, and often tamed by elves. I’m sure there are other witches out there with more experience there than me. I don’t understand if you mean identifying presence , or fae in general, but I recommend old manuals for the latter along with lots of research, and it will generally help with the former!
Also- my advice and wisdom are free!✨✨
Hi guys, it’s Mai, and I happen to have a special post today!
Today we will be learning why deck interviews are important- for tarot and oracle cards. You see, every deck is different. Even tarot decks. Even mass produced decks! Each deck has its own individual personality, and I don’t think a lot of people realize this.
Each time I get a new deck of any divination card, I conduct a simple deck interview:
(Thank you @dailygrimoire for your wonderful spread; they also have a great post on bonding with your decks!)
As you interpret the cards, write it down, like you’re writing a paper for work or school. You’ll find it’s easier to understand when it’s not “reversed magician, upright 3 of swords?? What????”
Remember, each deck is different. My Silmarilion Oracle deck is a very pessimistic deck, but it gives you straight facts. My demonic arcana deck (by @crimson-chains and @kaizuart ) is very eager to please, but might try too hard sometimes.
(But seriously go look at the art for the demonic arcana deck it’s gorgeous)
I learned these things about my decks by asking them. You won’t get anywhere with them without making an effort!
The next 5, because Tumblr only allows 10 pictures. Aulë, the Vala of Stone and Fire, and master of Smiths; Manwë, king of Arda and Vala of the Winds and Skies; Oromë, Vala of the Hunt; Thuringwethil, Maia of Melkor and herald of Sauron; Melian, queen of Doriath, and mother of Luthien Tinuvél.
