I ran to this view with abandonment, totally overcome with excitement. I touched the child in me and I was happy.

just thinking about how pretty biology is- how pretty life is. it's the idea that your body knows. it's how the mRNA can so perfectly navigate itself to the ribosome. it's how your body makes memory cells so you can recover quicker the next time. it's how your body can detect even the tiniest of changes. it's how your body has blood running from your lungs to your feet as you're reading this and you arent even aware of it, how your muscles are contracting and relaxing, how your cells are making proteins, breaking down carbs and don't even realize. it's so comforting to know that each organ of your body, each tissue in the organ, each cell, each organelle-none of it is useless. it exists for a reason. it has a purpose. it's doing so much to give us life. no one will ever care for you as much as your body. and there's nothing more comforting than that.
“It’s okay to have emotional swings.”
—
It is natural for humans to have emotions.
Even if you are upset or angry, you swing supplely, and aim to be “steadfastness”, to get back to normal again with ease.
People have got to live in a ‘sea of strangers’, which naturally causes stress and conflicts. Many people may believe that it is better to be emotionally unaffected, but it is natural for emotions to waver and be disturbed. The important thing is not to get caught up in or swept away by the tide. That is, as long as your emotions do not spill out of the vessel of the 'heart’.
Steadfastness does not mean a mind that does not move like a rock no matter what, or a mind that is as quiet as the surface of the water, which does not ripple at all. Without feelings, it is as if you were dead.
Steadfastness is a mind that may sway but does not overflow; a mind that may waver like a balance toy, but its axis is fixed on one point.
Nine out of ten emotional problems are a matter of mindset, a matter of how you look at things. Once you have a correct perception of the situation, you are not at the mercy of your emotions, even if they are disturbed.
When you are caught up in a tide of emotions, something inside you is misjudging. Misperceptions may be caused by wanting to protect one’s position and pride. Or perhaps because you are preoccupied with a single concept. In order to reveal it, it is necessary to technically stop the emotions at once.
If you know the technique of shutting off the flow of emotions once they are in place, it is possible to cultivate a steadfastness that will return even if you sway like a balance toy.
“I don’t know, I don’t want to talk as much…It’s nicer to think, dear, pretty thoughts and keep them in one’s heart, like treasures. I don’t like to have them laughed at or wondered over.”

Don't expect anything to happen. Just wait. This waiting is a deep acceptance of the moment as such. Nietzsche called it amor fati-unquestioning love of whatever has fated you to be here. You reach a point where you're just sitting there, asking, "What is this?" but with no interest in an answer. The longing for an answer compromises the potency of the question. Can you be satisfied to rest in this puzzlement, this perplexity, in a deeply fo cused and embodied way? Just waiting without any expectations?
Ask "What is this?," then open yourself completely to what you "hear" in the silence that follows. Be open to this question in the same way as you would listen to a piece of music. Pay total attention to the polyphony of the birds and wind outside, the oc casional plane that flies overhead, the patter of rain on a window. Listen carefully, and notice how listening is not just an opening of the mind but an opening of the heart, a vital concern or care for the world, the source of what we call compassion or love.
🌿 Stephen Batchelor, The Art of Solitude
.
The love that beats in my heart so softly but so magnificently sings your name and its melody soothes my soul. Hear me sing and fill the wind, with sighs so full of your name, like the music in the sunset calling the birds home. Do not forget the love in my heart. It calls you trembling, shining so bright in the dark, a gift, a blessing. Come and let nothing burden our souls, that our dreams shine again so bright we place them in the sky so they become stars. Let the sky be our abode, be day or night, may you always look up and think of me.

the house plants. 08/26. S.R.
napowrimo day 26 using @mercuriian's prompts (x): a poem about a plant
transcript under the cut:-
I collect them like seashells. A few of them are seeds hiding between the muddy soil which find a home in my nails when I bring them in. I hope to mould myself the way I did to the soil in the pots, some which escaped from a lover's quarrel thrown onto the streets. The leaves lie down on my porch like the ladies from a renaissance painting, their eyes on me and their right hands supporting their heads. I begin to mould myself like a plant. When I forget to water myself, my plants dry, I forget to tend to my roots and they wail. I am buried and I feel at home. Winds blow in and my frozen carcass is found at their feet. I bloom every year, as someone new over and over again. Burying is an eternal cycle. They thrive at the farthest corner of the house with a light in it. I think I'll give them enough love to make them survive.
