Just a friendly reminder that if you see my often used Krampus design in the wild uncredited to please be super chill when calling it out! It is usually a case of people thinking it is a vintage copyright free clip art piece and being kind about it helps me have a more successful, pleasant encounter. I modeled this illustration to look like an old Gruss Vom Krampus postcard and I guess it is a little too successful.
Now I don't want to make an excuse for the folks tracing the piece without acknowledging the source but a lot of non artists slap it on stuff and are most likely under the impression it is not a modern illustration. It’s been around since 2009 and used to be a source of anxiety seeing it used so much around this time of year but it's something I have made peace with ( also I'm just very tired lol) Looking back, most people who did accidentally use it ended up being decent and pleasant to deal with so that's pretty cool....
I’m glad that it’s seemed to have have a lot of influence on Krampus depictions and has sort of snuck into being accepted as this authentic antique artwork. It would be nice to see my name attached to all of the posts that use him but much like many other online artists, sometimes a dumb thing you made just gets out from under you and fighting it is like fighting the sea. A sea of clippty cloppity, long tongued naughty goat men! Anyway if you want me to get paid for this illustration you can buy the shirt here: https://shirt.woot.com/offers/greetings-from-krampus
Honestly, it’s probably the best decision for the trans community to abolish “AM/FAB”
met a trans woman who was going to be a potential new roommate. she wanted to see a picture of me to know i was a real person. after seeing my selfie she asked me "AFAB on T?" i felt the most dysphoric i had felt in years- its one thing to have cis people ask me things like this, but it's a huge slap in the balls to hear things like this from other trans people.
we are in the "nobody cares what gender you were assigned at birth" community. don't single people out or try to assume their AGAB- if you're trans and don't want people asking you about your AGAB, the other trans person almost definitely feels the same way. respect people's privacy and identity- attempting to profile other trans people by what their bodies look like is violence.
a jew will make a post about grieving the world they thought they lived in while trying to bring attention to the obscene acts of antisemitism being enacted across the fucking globe at rates we’ve not seen in several decades, not mentioning israel or zionism whatsoever
and some human piece of fecal matter will always swoop in to explain that op is in fact an evil (((zionist))) because anyone who cares about the wellbeing of jews must secretly be an agent of israel and don’t you know that people only talk about antisemitic violence to give antizionists a bad name
Would you explain to a black person what is and isn't racism? To a woman what is and isn't misogyny? Would you dictate what's allowed to make trans people feel unsafe, and what isn't sufficiently transphobic? Say to a Democrat who vandalized a Trump 2024 sign that actually the fact that they got thrown into an almost-freezing river and were only allowed out after they yelled "Trump 2024!" was only fair, since obviously that's what they deserve for vandalizing? No?
Then why the fuck is it okay to do it for Jews?
To this day people will cry over the knowledge and works destroyed when the library of Alexandria was burned down.
And yet no tears are shed as Palestinian archives and libraries are bombed.
Saint Porphyrius Church, built in 1150 and the 3rd oldest church in the world has been bombed.
It's not an accident.
Israel aren't simply killing Palestinians, they are trying to erase that there ever were Palestinians in the first place.
Destroying their livelihoods, trying to to destroy their culture and history and pretend this land was never there's.
It's easy to deny someone's existence when there's no record of them.
Which is why it's so important to look at the atrocities and bear witness to what's happening.
But to also recognise that Palestine is more than it's suffering.
There is a living breathing culture, of art, history, literacy which all come from the Palestinians.
Traditions they've carried for centuries.
So while we mourn the dead, we shall fight for the living. Fight for the preservation of their crafts, amplify their voices as they speak on their culture.
Palestinian history and culture is alive. And no matter how much the world wants to erase that, they cannot and will not.
Two Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jewish) men rejoice during Simchat Torah. x
