Genya Shinazugawa was born in January, when the frosts were already raging outside the walls of their modest home. But he never felt the cold of winter.

How could he, if from the moment he was born, his brother's hands warmed him? He was with his dear older brother more often than with his mother, who went to any part-time job to have money for food and some minimum of things, but little Genya, whose hair was the color of a raven's wing, like a bird, who flew past their house on the day of his birth, smiled so brightly at Sanemi that the elder one thought that there was no cold outside.

Sanemi smiled softly at the question and gently wiped away his little brother's tears, hugging him tighter and gently rocking in place as he pondered the question.

"Because when I was born, winter had just descended on the earth, and our house was the first one it came to, and kissed my hair, so it's white, not like yours or your mom and dad's. And when you were born, there was an eclipse in the sky. The moon covered the sun, and so you were kissed by the shadow of the moon, making your hair like this. I remember seeing your hair white for a few moments," Sanemi says with a mysterious smile, while his heart warms at the sight of Genya listening to him with sincere trust and surprise.

Even if it's just a little fiction to entertain his little brother and calm him down by explaining their differences.

Even if it's not true.

I started playing Baldur's Gate 3 a couple months before I ran away from my mother's house.

Looking back on my first playthrough now, I understand why my favorite characters resonated with me so much...

Astarion, who wanted freedom and choice, who wanted to escape the supervision of someone he had to call a Master and whose orders he had to follow.

Karlah, who also wanted freedom and the ability to simply live, without fear, without orders, without having to fight for her life every day, wanting simple closeness, simple... Touch and acceptance, recognition.

Recognition that they were both not monsters and deserved to live.

Sanemi stares at Giyuu so hard that Giyuu tilts his head uncertainly in silent question, not understanding what he had done wrong in answering the question. And Sanemi himself continues to study those confused eyes, their depth and shades of gray, imagining what they really were.

He so wants to believe that they are the deepest color of the purest sapphires, like in the fairy tales he told his siblings.

Yes… These are the kind of eyes that the Water Pillar should have.

"I wish I could see them." He whispers, causing Giyuu to involuntarily look away, embarrassed and unsure of what it was, while the Wind Pillar grins, baring his fangs.

I look at Giyuu and realize that I want to devour him and kiss him at the same time My sweet, silly water boy…

It's crazy to think that in this moment Tanjiro didn't just save Genya, he saved Sanemi too.

Imagine the fallout that would have happened if Sanemi had succeeded in blinding Genya.

He would lose the respect of all the slayers including Obanai because ignoring your brother is one thing but blinding him? Nah.

He might get banned from the corps and Kagaya would express his upmost disappointment in him which for Sanemi is like a death sentence.

His relationship with Gyomei would be destroyed. Genya might be his brother but remember he's still under the guidance of the strongest hashira.

I think Gyomei's reaction would be especially disasterous because he knows the kinds of assumptions people make about him because of his blindness, and to find out that Sanemi deliberately blinded his brother. Like dude.

Sanemi would never forgive himself. Like I said ignoring your brother is one thing but intentionally maiming your loved one crosses a line that he wouldn't be able to come back from.

So all this would happen because of some stupid, impulsive decision he made due to fear.

And I think he realizes it too. The fact that he left Genya alone after the incident, if he really thought his actions were sane and justified he would keep trying to poke his eyes out but he didn't. he seems ashamed to face him.

Just look at his face, he's like 'wtf??? I can't believe I almost blinded my baby bro!', 'what the fuck Sanemi?', 'what the fuck?, what the fuck?!'

This is the face of someone who can't believe and is ashamed of his actions.

In his next encounter with Tanjiro notice how he doesn't go apeshit and give him another beat down. It's only when he feels that our bestest boy is making fun of him that he lashes out. He's probably glad that Tanjiro saved Genya and is looking out for him but his stupid male pride won't allow him to say that.

Also look at the position of the scratch on Genya's face. He's being hurt a second time by the people he loves. My poor babyyyyy!

Sanemi I love you but that's absolutely unhinged behavior even for you. Like do I need to bring out the spray bottle?

This kinda adds to my theory that Sanemi has some kind of anxiety disorder in addition to his depression.

Also shout-out to Zenitsu for taking Genya away no questions asked. He's such an underrated character. 🤗

Sanemi doesn't see color.

He lost the colors of this world when he first had to take up arms, and he never saw this world again.

Everything seemed as if it was an eternal cold winter. Everything was gray, faded, and dead, no matter where he looked.

He looked at the sky, but he no longer saw its azure purity.

He caught cherry blossom petals in his palms and looked at them for a long time, tracing the outline and delicacy of the veins of the flower with his pads, but he did not see what the cherry blossoms were like this year.

He sat on a tree branch, looking at the setting sun over the mountains and forest cover, but all he saw in the sky was a scribble of gray shades.

He often thought that he would gradually forget the colors.

"Tomioka..." the question hangs in the air as Shinazugawa stares at the Water Pillar, narrowing his eyes slightly, making a soft tsking sound as the Water Pillar tilts his head to the side in a silent question.

"What... color are your eyes?..."

So, I had a pretty interesting dream today, but a little backstory.

I'm a big fan of Stardew Valley and Demon Slayer, so sometimes in my dreams my stupid fish brain mixes the two into one, and two or three months ago that's what happened.

That time, I dreamed that I started a new game on a farm, sowing radishes, and with me was… Obanai.

This is very unexpected. Obanai is one of my favorite characters, without a doubt, I like his design, history and personality, I understand him and his arc in many ways, although I don't interact with him or mention him that often. So, I dream that I am gardening with the Serpent Pillar, having a nice and warm discussion about what we should do in the fall season so that we have enough resources for the winter for us and the animals… No one has ever looked at me with such warmth and understanding as in that dream.

And so, today I dreamed again that I was walking down the streets of Pelican City, and I met him. I think he said that he went out to buy something for our farm, and he felt embarrassed that I caught him doing it.

*covers his face in embarrassment*

Demon Slayer Characters React to Drunk Y/N Complaining About Not Having a Boyfriend (While Being Married to Them)

I thought this would be sorta funny...

🌸 Hashira

🔹 Giyuu Tomioka → Blinks. “But… I’m your husband.” Watches as you dramatically flop onto the counter, groaning about how unfair life is. Giyuu, completely lost, gently pats your head and mumbles, “Did you forget?” You grab his haori and whine, “But everyone ELSE has one!” He sighs, picks you up, and places you on his lap. “I’m literally right here.” When you wake up sober, he’s staring at you expectantly, waiting for an apology.

🔹 Sanemi Shinazugawa → Nearly chokes on his drink. “Huh?! The hell did you just say?!” Stands there, completely baffled, as you cry into your ramen about how you’re “so lonely.” He yanks your face up and growls, “You’re married to ME, idiot!” If you keep whining, he’ll grab your face and kiss you aggressively just to shut you up. “Say that again, I dare you.” The next morning, you wake up to him giving you the silent treatment.

🔹 Kyojuro Rengoku → BURSTS OUT LAUGHING. “AH! MY LOVE, HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ME?!” Immediately picks you up and spins you around in his arms while declaring, “Fear not, for I shall be your boyfriend and husband both!” He’ll then spend the next hour showering you with compliments until you’re giggling again. The next morning, he teases you endlessly about it.

🔹 Tengen Uzui → “Oh? You don’t have a boyfriend? What a tragedy!” Smirks and plays along, even pulling out a fake tear. His wives giggle in the background as he dramatically sighs, “If only there were a dazzling, flashy man who would devote himself to you~” Eventually, he cups your face and whispers, “Oh wait. That’s ME.” The next morning, his wives keep reminding you of your ‘crisis’ just to fluster you.

🔹 Muichiro Tokito → Completely deadpan. “You’re married to me.” Watches as you dramatically sob into your drink. “You literally have a ring on your finger.” He tilts his head. “Do I not count?” You mumble, “You don’t count ‘cause you’re too perfect.” He pauses, blushes a little, then sighs. “You’re so dumb when you’re drunk.” Carries you to bed but secretly enjoys the attention.

🔹 Mitsuri Kanroji → GASPS. “OH NOOO, MY LOVE!!” Immediately cuddles you and reassures you that you’re the most loved person in the world. “I’LL BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND AND BOYFRIEND IF YOU WANT!!” She even makes a whole list of reasons why you’re adored. The next day, she excitedly asks if you remember her ‘love speech.’

🔹 Obanai Iguro → “...Are you serious?” Looks completely betrayed. You keep whining, not noticing how his grip on his cup tightens. “You’re MARRIED to me. How the hell do you not have a boyfriend?” When you drunkenly say, “You’re my husband, not my boyfriend,” he stares at you like you’ve committed a crime. Kaburamaru hisses in agreement. The next morning, he ignores you until you apologize properly.

🔹 Gyomei Himejima → Soft sigh. “I see.” Gently wipes your tears as you ramble about being ‘unloved.’ Then, with zero hesitation, he pulls you into his lap and starts listing all the ways he cherishes you. “You are loved beyond measure.” The next day, he reminds you that even in your drunkest moments, he will always reassure you.

🌓 Upper Moons & Muzan

🔹 Kokushibo → Silent for an entire minute. Stares at you as if you just grew another head. “You… do not have a boyfriend?” Watches you dramatically throw yourself onto the table. “Impossible.” Finally, he exhales deeply and pulls you against his chest. “You are MY wife. That is beyond a mere boyfriend.” The next day, he reminds you that your ‘foolish drunken words’ made him question your intelligence.

🔹 Douma → GASPS SO LOUDLY. “OH, HOW COULD THIS BE?!” Dramatically grabs you and cradles you while fake-crying. “HOW COULD YOUR BOYFRIEND ABANDON YOU LIKE THIS?!” Then he kisses your forehead. “Oh wait, that’s me~” He spends the next hour teasing you, calling himself your ‘brand-new’ boyfriend.

🔹 Akaza → “WHAT?!” Nearly falls out of his chair. “You—you don’t—Y/N, I’M RIGHT HERE!!” If you keep complaining, he grabs your face and forces you to look at him. “I’M YOUR BOYFRIEND. YOUR HUSBAND. SAY IT.” When you refuse, he gets pouty and hugs you from behind, sulking. The next morning, he’s grumpy until you remind him he’s your favorite.

🔹 Muzan Kibutsuji → Does not move. “Excuse me?” Raises an eyebrow as you drunkenly cry into your soup. Watches you go on and on about being ‘so single.’ Finally, he tilts your chin up, smirking. “Would you like me to find you a new boyfriend, then?” (Translation: Say yes, and you die.) The next day, you wake up to him watching you. “Say it again. I dare you.”

🎴 Main Three + Genya

🔹 Tanjiro Kamado → SO CONFUSED. “But Y/N… I’m right here?” When you keep whining, he gently takes your hand and kisses your wedding ring. “Does this not mean anything?” He patiently waits for you to realize before wrapping you in a warm hug.

🔹 Zenitsu Agatsuma → STARTS WAILING EVEN LOUDER THAN YOU. “YOU DON’T HAVE A BOYFRIEND?! BUT YOU HAVE ME!!!!” Literally grabs your hands and shakes you. “DO I MEAN NOTHING TO YOU??” Probably ends up crying with you. The next morning, he reminds you dramatically of your betrayal.

🔹 Inosuke Hashibira → “WHAT?!” Looks around like he’s about to fight someone. “WHO STOLE MY GIRL?!” When you say, “No one, I just don’t have a boyfriend,” he snarls, “I’M YOUR BOYFRIEND, DUMBASS!!” (Is ready to throw hands with the air.) The next day, he’s grumpy and demands an apology.

🔹 Genya Shinazugawa → COMPLETELY SHORT CIRCUITS. “H-HUH?! BUT WE’RE M-M-MARRIED???” Face turns BRIGHT red. When you keep whining, he stammers, “B-But I thought—D-Does this mean nothing to you?!” When you wake up, he’s still sulking. “So… do you still think you don’t have a boyfriend?”
